Sidon, a character who is so optimistic that his ZR move is literally called "boundless optimism", is suddenly not optimistic about what his sister had said about them seeing each other again. He knows very well that he can't see her again and you can see that from how hesitant he is to agree with her. Really heartbreaking.
Yeah it really is. I thought the scene where Mipha said she was so proud of Sidon and he just turned his head away. That almost made me cry. Seeing such an optimistic character like Sidon sad like that broke my heart. I could just tell that he wishes he could hear that from Mipha in the botw timeline.
Sidon knows the rules of the multiverse and time travel. Travelers can alter one world's events, but it doesn't mean the world they came from will be fixed.

The final weak point gauge attacks text changes to 'seal' 37:30 it was fast so you could not see it, but I noticed it in my gameplay. Nice addition to the fight.
what if instead of just getting another weak point slash animation to end the game you instead saw a full on cutscene where the character you used to finish Gannon would show their own finisher on him. Link and Zelda's cutscenes would be the same as the finishers that were already in the game, Ravali would expose Gannon's weak point eye thing from the first game before no scoping that sucker, Urbosa would Smite Gannon down with the second biggest lightning blast in the history of lightning, Impa would do some kind of banishment ritual, Mipha would slash and stab Gannon in a way very reminiscent of how Gannon got stabbed at the end of OOT, Gannon would sacrifice himself to end himself and would end up sealing both Gannons... the list goes on. I think this would feel a bit more impactful than what we ended up getting

So this thing could have been avoided if the king just let Zelda grew up as a normal girl before throwing this whole freaking responsibility on her.

You forget that the King never realized what the problem was with Zelda's power being unable to awaken. How could he have possibly known beforehand what the secret was?
In his journal, it is clear that he never wanted to hurt her, but had every reason to believe that if he let her have a normal life, the world would burn. He had two choices: to be a good king, or to be a good father for 11 more years before he, Zelda, and everyone else died.
And with the knowledge he had, I would say that it is indisputable that he did the best he could, especially since it was really hard for him to do it. He may have been harsh, but he was also a very brave, selfless, and good man.

Community made more splits than age of calamity's story - which didn't actually split anything. We just witnessed and played one of the three timelines that already exist, playing out almost identical events until egg bot and the champions from botw intervened and changed the game's course of events that would've repeated botw's version of history...and like in botw, they never found ganon's sealed corpse underground...thus leading to a different version of botw/2. The developers said themselves botw is inevitable. The community is over thinking it and having knee jerk reactions, making the whole thing more complex than it actually is. We got the basis of the story. there are several times we can see where the line would've ended for the major characters, where things would've ended otherwise.

It's one of the three timelines numb nuts. The past events shown in botw is another one of the 3. SS and OOT show there's two out of three timelines we travel between. We simply altered the past in one of the other timelines that already exists. Botw is inevitably in all three, but nowhere does it imply all fail so utterly like in botw's version of events

@@crutonman1547 They advertised age of calamity as “You didn’t get to see what happened 100 years before BOTW in full so you will get to play it here” but it’s an alternate timeline so you really don’t play before BOTW. They straight up lied.
@@anthony2585 nah bro, they never said the game was exactly what happened 100 years ago, all the trailers implied was that it took place before botw and that you never got to see what happened. They went the time travel route coz it's LoZ. I was hoping for a story where they all lose too but in the end they never promised anything like that. And even if you feel it had false advertising which it didn't, it was still a very fun game and it made for an experience very worth the time. It was a fun take on the classic time travelling shenanigans

Matpat tells us the first Hyrule warriors is what finally brought the 3 timelines back together. Apparently Nintendo heard and made this Hyrule Warriors break it up again

Ill explain. Terrako-P (the one roam took) is in a box. Zelda uses her power to save link. Terrako-P travels to the past. The story takes place. Then, the evil Terrako (alternate universe maybe?) becomes the host of calamity ganon, Terrako-P Is possesed, and then sacrifices. Then, the heroes are beaten, zelda and link run away, then she uses her power to save link, activating Terrako-P, making an eternal cicle, while keeping BOTW clean and unchanged.

I love the subtle cues in the soundtrack. Like at 38:10, the piece is all victorious, they’re about to seal away Ganon, but then Ganon’s theme from Breath of the Wild fades in and takes over the entire piece - Ganon isn’t finished yet, he isn’t going down that easily. But then once Zelda’s magic barrier blocks his punch, Ganon’s theme backs off and the original piece returns - Ganon is finished.
37:56 one of the most badass moments in any Zelda game ever. I jumped out of my seat when I first saw this.
I feel like this is a "covering Smaug in gold" kind of situation. Some character does an awesome finishing move on a major enemy that looks like it should kill the thing, but it apparently doesn't because the thing needs to be killed by someone else in a lamer way because it was "set up" or something like that.

I believe this is. They should have made it an actual prequel instead of what we got. This isn’t canon. It’s a warriors game.
I think their splitting the timelines again.
People believe the first Hyrule warriors game is Canon because it explained why so many different things from different timelines are in Breath of the wild. The rito and Zora never existed in the same timeline. Hurdle Warriors brought things from all the timelines. So I think this game will create another split timeline. The one where Calamity Ganon wins, and one where he was defeated.

I honestly don't like Terrako because I feel like his impact on the story takes away from player agency (or the illusion of player agency), that being said I am 110% with you on how he shouldn't have been killed a second time! His first death made you feel something and it was actually done pretty well. I personally wasn't too invested because I really couldn't care less about this incarnation of Zelda but I'm sure to the general fanbase it was heartfelt. a minute later things... look tense and then Terrako somehow comes back to life, AND THEN HE IMIDETLY KAMAKAZIS HIMSELF FOR NO REASON, DYING AGAIN AND COMPLETELY UNDERMINING THE MOMENT BUILT UP BEFORE! I don't know if this was supposed to make me feel sad but I remember finding this hilarious for the sheer stupidity of bringing him and then killing him again so quickly. It was completely pointless!!! also side note, for his parts to end up in the outer regions of Hyrule, that explosion should have killed everyone in the room!!!

For anyone confused Terrako DID exist in BoTW, he just wasn’t awoken yet. In the opening cutscene of the game, you see the Zelda unlocking her power the way she did in BoTW. Terrako was awoken by this, and went back in time to save Zelda. The Calamity’s malice followed him into the portal. Although what isn’t completely made clear in the game is the fact that the “present” in AoC isn’t the same present as BoTW (this is proven with the existence of Harbinger Ganon, A.K.A. Evil Terrako). Evil Terrako IS Terrako, just from the “present” (Ganon, noticing Terrako in BoTW, corrupted the deactivated Terrako of AoC). Astor existed in BoTW’s timeline. He is the “mysterious prophet” who predicted the calamity. So, unfortunately, BoTW’s timeline is still happening in tandem with AoC’s. This is because Terrako and Ganon created a split in the timeline, causing an alternate reality to occur, kinda like a cell performing mitosis. I probably explained that really poorly, sorry.
As far I remember we never saw a single glimpse of Terrako in botw original from 2017. Meaning he's not in botw.
He got created by techmo in age of calamity mixing "a" world from 100 year before botw. Not THE world 100y ago from botw. Otherwise botw would be age of calamity with Terrako, but not only no terrako from future, theres none at all, nor present. No astor either in botw.
@@0TTERBRO we didn’t see Terrako in BoTW because he was in a box during the calamity, and immediately teleported to an alternate reality. There’s no way we’d see him, because he WAS there, but not anymore. All of the gameplay of BoTW took place after Terrako left, and most of the memories took place prior to Terrako waking up (except for the memory where Zelda finally activates her power, and the memory of Zelda placing the Master Sword in its pedestal, however Terrako had already left by the latter cutscene). Also, Astor’s work had been completed in BoTW, so he was most likely dead or in hiding.
@@arachniteer We saw the cutscene with the box but dude d'you think aonuma actually created terrako in botw, fun fact if you free cam to zeldas tower in botw, that box isnt the same nor is there any stored terrako in any boxed in zeldas study. Its not the same. In botw its a different universe with no terrako dude, warriors games create non canon stuff like this ending and terrako, and Lana and so on in the original warrior

As Sidon was bidding Mipha farewell, if you look closely at his expression, he knew. He knew that the time he's returning to is one where Mipha is dead. It's probably for the best that he didn't tell her about that.

This whole game serves as a reminder to how badass link actually is cuz he was able to do all this by himself in botw
He did kinda had everyone’s help if you think about it. All of the champions gave Link their powers and also had the Sheikah slate. Not to mention, Zelda also helped him at the final battle.

Stuff like this is why I give up on trying to figure out timelines. It’s not worth it.
It's a challenge that only the persistent could make something out of it. Basically what happened at the beginning of this game with that little egg guardian, altered the timeline with the BOTW era. The one we know with BOTW and the soon to be sequel where the guardians fail still exist if it wasn't for the intervention.
About the ending part, I double checked and found out that there is no ending that leads to BOTW. Sorry for misinformation. Would have been cool if it happened.
Easy terrako caused a timeline split thus making 1 new timelines the one were all the champions die and ganon is sealed for 100 years and then beaten by link
and a new timelime where the calmity is stopped and link isnt in a coma for 100 years

I loved this fight so much, I felt like the calamity ganon in breath of the wild was a huge dissapointment but age of calamity's calamity ganon fight was amazing. I can't speak for anyone else but for me this was one of those fights that gives you that adrenaline rush mixed with exhilaration with each new attack ganon does. Truly fun final boss.

Honestly, I think that BOTW's final boss fight was quite epic. I guess I agree that Dark Beast Ganon, which was Ganon's final form in BOTW, was indeed an easy boss fight, but I was okay with it because the action and the details of the boss fight were all still quite epic, especially when Link shot that final arrow into Ganon's weak spot on his forehead. Besides, the spider-like Calamity Ganon was already a hard-enough boss fight at the time. By now, at least in regular mode, I can do it easily because I practiced a lot.
So...this is Ocarina of Time all over again, huh?
Maybe the breath of the wild 1 and 2 are actually in another dimension than the timeline we know, and this is their version of oot.

@@nightwalker174 what I meant is that oot and this game are different parallel worlds, like if there was a 2nd timeline split before the one made by oot. Maybe the og timeline split into oot and botw and the other 2 timelines are part of this new universe.

In the first cutscene of this game we see Terrako have a flashback of Zelda fighting against Calamity Ganon even thought Zelda had yet to even confront him since she was still busy saving Link's life at Fort Hateno, which mean Terrako arleady time traveled before that point, but last time he did he probably failed which is why he was so desperate to sacrifice himself to save Zelda this time.

I love how the blight ganons have a highlight on what element they posses and how their style and ways on attacking are different but amazing.
Even with that happy ending, the events of BTW are inevitable. Ganon true body is still there leaking malice and it will end up like we know it did...
That's what we are going to fight in BOTW 2...it would be great if they made a AOC 2 where they also fight Ganondorf
I know this was commented two years ago, but I’ll still say this. Ganon and Ganondorf are not the same thing. They are both the reincarnation of Demise’s evil. Ganondorf had nothing to do with BOTW so the events of Age of Calamity are valid. It created an alternative timeline where Ganon lost. It’s like flipping a coin. The events of the calamity is the coin and one side is where the calamity lost (Age of Calamity) and the other side is where the calamity won (BOTW)
I can understand why Zelda shows so much emotion with her little robot. She's basicley his mother. Creators always have a level of pride or attachment to their creations and this little guy is more or less a living being with it's owns feelings and emotions.
Does no one realize that Age of Calamity having the timeline split means more Zelda games? The time line is literally a split which means different events play out. So you have Breath of the Wild, where they lose but end up winning 100 yrs later. Or Age of Calamity where Terrako jumps in and changes everything.
And BotW 2 is after Age of Calamity

There is so much poetic justice in having King Rhoam in your party during the final story mission and fight against Calamity Ganon, after how hard he pushed Zelda to try and awaken her powers, and how much it hurt him to have to do so.
I can practically imagine in my head, Rhoam saying to Ganon during the fight "You're the reason why I had to make my daughter Zelda's life a living hell...and now, we're going to make you pay."
What’s crazy is, knowing what we know now in Tears of the Kingdom, this is probably the BAD ENDING!! Think about it. This takes place 100 years ago in an alternate timeline where BotW doesn’t necessarily take place due to their victory. They get a happy ending packaged n sealed… and then 100 years later when Link n Zelda are elderly/dead n gone, Ganondorf awakens after Rauru’s seal finally loses strength. With them out of the way, there’s no one to stop him. It would be a while before another incarnation could be born; let alone be capable of fighting. This also means that (without spoiling TotK) there wouldn’t be a way to overclock the Master Sword either; meaning the incarnation’s sword would shatter the same as it does at the beginning of TotK. The End. Ganondorf Wins.

I love this game. It’s such a huge improvement compared to the first one in every way. It’s a fun side story and definetly makes the wait for BOTW 2 less arduous.
On one hand I liked the story, it was really full of hype... On the other hand I felt annoyed by the story because it felt like you weren't really able to impact the story

Now that Calamity Ganon is completely seal for good, 100 years from now, people will never forget that Link, Zelda and everyone are legends. 100 years from now, Link and Zelda's grandchildren will visit Impa and asked about how much heroic their families are. Old Impa will tell them the same story, about a princess, her beloved knight, and the champions that really seal up Calamity Ganon. But this story have a real happy ending.
And in 100 years the real Ganondorf that is underground the castle will come to fuck that all
And then the real Ganondorf that is under Hyrule Castle awakes, and since Link is either too old to fight or died of old age, and kills everyone. The end.
Sure the game seems to get the happier ending but ganon's still down there underground, and no one knows it. A different version of botw happens 100 years later anyway and ends worse than the initial, original events we play.

@@ShadowSkyX Now that I think of it, Terrako could have doomed Hyrule instead of saving it in this timeline. Kinda like what happened before Wind Waker. Once Ganondorf was freed, there was no hero to stop him, so the goddesses flooded Hyrule in an attempt to save its remaining inhabitants, and yet Ganondorf still didn't die until the Hero of the Winds fought him.
Assuming that the Ganondorf under Hyrule Castle will always awake no matter the timeline 100 years after the Calamity Terrako prevented, by that time Link would be either too old to fight or died of old age, which means that there'd be no one there to stop him because not even the Divine Beasts are enough to kill him. Yeah, there's Purah's experiments making people younger, but in this timeline she'd have little to no reason to do said experiments since, unlike in BotW, she and everyone believes that Ganon has been stopped, which is not true.

You think that's bad? Ocarina of Time had all three common rules of time travel in a single game.
1. When you go back in time you change the future. Link go back in time multiple time to plant magic beans so that he can use them in the future.
2. When you go back in time nothing change, because your travel in time arleady happened before you even began. Link learned the Song of Storms from the windmill caretaker but the man had learned the song from Link in the past.
3. When you change something in the past you create a new timeline separated from your own. When Link warned the royal family of Ganondorf's treason it created a new reality where Ganondorf didn't enter the Sacred Realm but the original timeline where he did still exist.
And obviously there's also the downfall timeline, which doesn't make much sense since that one doesn't involve time travel it's just straight up a different alternate universe.

@@OnderHassan I highly doubt BoTW2 has anything to do with this timeline. A large chunk of people that played BoTW will not play this game as a lot of people don't like Musou games.
BoTW was such a hit that making the sequel contradict it would be very foolish. AoC can be a fun reimagining but most of it won't play in the future. Also BoTW2 is based off of created content that would have been DLC for the original.
That's just my two cents. I guess anything can happen.

For anyone who is confused about the time travel look at it like this: Nintendo just made their own Flashpoint Paradox within the Zelda world. The BOTW we know will remain unchanged, the ending of this game creates a parallel timeline to the one we all know. So when the champions return to their time, nothing will have changed for them. Zelda said “your future” implying what happened for them with their timeline again, unchanged

A big rule in Multiverse Time Travel: a traveler can only effect the world's time they travel to, this doesn't mean that it'll fix their own world. Much like in DBZ, Trunks and Cell altered time in the show's main world but when he returned back to his version of the world, nothing changed but him with his experience. In the end he defeat the Androids on his own.
