That's why Zelda shoved a frog in his face. Link will eat anything.
Yes the good meat he gives him it is all here
Dude, you are seriously misreading Terrako's actions here, when it was scolding Link roundly. That shot Link blocked was first being blocked by Terrako, but Link carelessly dashed in _and knocked Terrako aside_ when he put up his shield to deflect that blast. That pissed Terrako off because Link stole his spotlight. The little egg sees itself as Zelda's protector. That is why Link is so embarrassed. Remember, he understands the little robot's whistling speech, and felt he deserved the scolding he got. It was funny as hell.
I have a theory what if in the great calamity that happens 10 thousand years before botw that terrako was made to protect the princess which would explain why he activates when she uses her powers and Zelda put him back together as a child didn’t even make it just fixed him
I really really like that theory; it never made sense to me that Terrako could somehow control time if he was made by Zelda.

Mipha and Link didn't get much time together in this timeline. It was all about Sidon's reunion with his beloved sister. If Mipha remembers, she'll get around to trying to pursue Link _if_ she thinks Zelda hasn't had her claws into him too deeply already. XD
Then zelda and mipha are going to have to fight for link!
I hope she didn’t make the Zora outfit for him in this timeline 😭
You sure the lil egg not just wasn't pissed about slapped out of the way by link? Lol
right i thought that too
@@noeliapasacapaladines9076 yeah but these things get overlooked sometimes I suppose. It was pretty hilarious he thought he was gonna save Zelda but only got shoved out the way 😂
It was indeed pissed at being slapped outta the way by Link...but because IT wanted to be Zelda’s protector, but was, in a word, cockblocked, by Link. Terrako is well-aware at this point that, at the very least, Zelda has affection for Link, and feels threatened by it.
I mean the robot whistles at her, if that doesn’t signal something I don’t know what does
Terrako was willing to protect Zelda with its life no matter what. It was brilliant foreshadowing since it is exactly what Terrako did at Hyrule Castle during the last mission of the game. Terrako sacrificed itself to weaken Calamity Ganon to make it open to attack.
The romantic feelings Zelda has for Link are clearly shown in small bits throughout the story. Good to know there is another incarnation of the two that love each other like in SS.
I was under the impression that Spirit Track also had a romantic Zelink relation.

@@queteimporta552 zelda 2 was just a hug according to the devs

Well I mean it’s been confirmed in BotW that Zelda is in love with Link. In what I think is the champions balled or maybe it’s just the normal game, Kass brings up how his teacher was in love with Zelda. But Zelda only had eyes for her appointed knight. But when it comes to Link it’s so much harder to tell if he feels the same way smh
It's cuz of the lack of voice acting. I know we love our silent Link but that of having a silent protagonist is getting quite old already. It hurts a lot Link's development because we can't really know how he actually feels about everything. Like how can you wake up after 100 years and know your family died either killed or outlived, your friends and such. Then having to face a fricking calamity by yourself. How can he grieve like that? So I hope we'll see them fixing this in some way for the sequel of botw now that he will seemingly tag along with Zelda during the whole game (hopefully).
@@jeshuarestituyo284 Link being silent is only a problem in Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity because they tried to make him his own character instead of merely a self insert here more than anywhere. I'd have loved to see him talk in this appearance, but regarding other Zelda games I'd rather keep him a silent protagonist. Here, though, they honestly shouldn't have upheld with the silent protagonist thing in this game because of how they handle Link's character.
Maybe this is just my opinion though...
@dumb idiot ikr like I’m scared that if they do it won’t match what I feel like it should be... even if I don’t know what it should be like lol

Hyrule Warriors: Age of *_THICC_*
Zelda v Dingodile: Dawn of Thiccness
Thicc personality.
A lot of Links little side quests for the map in AOC do show him going beyond his duty as a knight to help Zelda. Little things like bringing her incense to help her sleep when it's mentioned that he's having insomnia, throwing her a little party to help her relax. Sure, it could just be friendship, but I think it does show that Link cares for Zelda in ways that are quite intimate. And friendship like that is a strong foundation for romance. Plus a lot of the "film language" of the cutscenes are things used as romantic settings. Like Zelda running to him in the rain with soft piano over head is pretty much a cue for romance, looking back at someone as you walk away, these things are pretty often used to create a romantic atmosphere. I haven't finished the game yet but I think there's tons of little Zelink moments that fed the fandom.
The main theme is played when she saves him and they use the same theme in MM when Anju and Kafeh are getting married so..:
The thing is that Link is shown to go out of his way to help anyone and a lot of his quests has him going out of his way to help anyone who asks.
The role Link had and bound she formed with him in the original timeline is not present here as Impa and the egg guardian took his role.
Even when she running to save him it seems to have more to do with her feelings of guilt to do with Falling to save her father then just saving him.
Love the logic
Nah, it’s more platonic in AoC regarding ZeLink.
It’s MiphLink that’s the romantic kind. Especially since Mipha lives in this timeline.
The key to either proving or disproving Link’s love to Zelda is to determine exactly when and how Torrako changed the timeline. Clearly it was more than just popping in one day, as he changed time at least as far back as Link’s 12-13 year.
In my humble opinion, I feel like he was indeed still in love with Zelda, given how awkward he acts around her, and how when he needs a weapon, he instead acted on pure emotion and reached towards Zelda, mirroring their last interaction before he died in the “prime” timeline, where his last act was to look into her eyes, this time, it was for them to look and reach towards one another.
Spoilers?
It's nice seeing Link with emotion, I like how he smiles at the end of Age of Calamity, it feels like the burden was gone.

Man. Now that you've recontextualized the scene when Mipha looks at Link and tries to tell Zelda how she uses her power, it hits the feels so much harder. She recognizes that Zelda also loves Link, and for the sake of the mission she was going to give enable her romantic rival.
poor mipha ;-;
Not neccessarily *JUST* the mission. It's possible- and likely- that she felt it wasn't her place to interfere in the event that Link had developed feelings for Zelda, even if it meant possibly damaging her own chances.
Loving someone means wanting them happy, even if it isn't with you. Particularly as it seems possible the Zora Armor being accepted isn't inherently an acceptance of the proposal.

One simple reason they won in this timeline, not because of the future champions or terrako. But link actually used a shield.
I also thought it was weird to see link with a sword but no shield.
I agree, also if link had a shield in botw he would of recked all of those guardians
@@nexarus42 I think the shield was broke at some point because botw got that low durability smh
@@xenomorph6599 but once the hylian shield is broken, that's it, you can't repair it :( I learned the hard way in botw, so Link being able to attain it 100 years later means that the shield wasn't found at all until post-calamity
@@ChildofYAH You can buy a copy of the Hylian Shield in Tarrey Town if you've completed the side quest "From The Ground Up" and broke your original copy of the shield
I think that the most interesting thing about Zelink in BOTW was the development: from a place of disagreement, jelousy and lack of understanding to companionship and only having each other after Hyrule's demise. In AoC there's no tension, but fanservice. They're both in friendly terms from the get go and that makes the relationship flat, since there's no progression nor intensity.
That isn't so much the point of AoC. The point of a timeline divergence was to give enough material for what is a _hack and slash game_ enough to work with. The memories in BotW did not exactly show a disaster that inspired such battles. There was very little personal interaction with battling at all until the last few memories, when everything had gone to hell. AoC's timeline divergence gave a purpose: To give you a game that allowed you to take in anything and everything the developers could throw at you. BotW was defeat, depression, defeat, defeat, defeat, run for your life, and more of the same. It is not exactly the environment for a hack and slash style of game.
And I'm going to mention something else. When BotW2 comes out, we are going to appreciate this story giving us a brighter future, because for all intents and purposes as hinted by the developers, the next game is going to be _dark as hell...the darkest Zelda game ever._
Are you sure about that?
@@bugs2814 Why don't you lay the entire plot out for yourself for both games in the strict context of a 1 vs 100 hack and slash game, and decide for yourself which is more appealing to play and gives you more content to handle?
As for BotW2, it had _better_ be dark as hell, because that makes the light at the end all the sweeter, so long as Nintendo avoids an overdose of cliché storms.
But that's how most relationships in real life start.... Just normal and friendly. That's not flat just realistic but I understand what you mean, you wanted to see more drama and trust me, me too. But this was a good way to see their relationship as well.
I wouldn't say their relationship is flat. I mean yeah sure it's not shown to grow and develop as much but since Terako changed the timeline, I'm sure this timeline had to be different. I mean yes it's not as exciting to explore but could probably tell us in a different perspective. Idk, just an idea but I do sorta appreciate that they tried another way to show a relationship between the 2. Maybe they wanted something like in SS? 🤔
I like to think that Zelda knew Link before he became her appointed knight and was on friendlier terms with him since he wasn't yet a living reminder of her failures. She surely would have heard great things about him and seen him around often enough to be somewhat friendly. Link bows to Zelda early on in the game, too, like he does for the king. This would suggest that they are not close enough to be friends.
I think Terrako accelerated certain events, like the guardian malfunction incident, and that while Zelda was learning about the ancient tech that had been excavated, Link was nearby because it was close enough to the training grounds or the barracks. It may have been after or during a meal time when the guardian fired at her or the researchers and Link parried the blast that earned him his promotion from soldier to appointed knight. Link protected Zelda even before he is appointed as her personal guard which gains her favour.
The rift grows between them in botw once Link has drawn the Master Sword and is the Hylian Champion, and Zelda begins her spiral into depression and self doubt. She doesn't want a constant reminder of her inability to access her powers following her around, looming over her like a dark shadow, so it makes sense why she would hate the idea of having Link as her guard and why she takes it out on him, trying to escape him. He had his own power seemingly handed to him while she can't access the power she had been born with?
It is after Zelda shouts at Link to stop following her that she feels guilty and decides to attempt to speak with him properly. They now start to become friends as they open up to each other.
In Age of Calamity, the fact that Zelda is able to work with the ancient tech and researchers plays a huge factor in her mood, so she wouldn't be quite as frustrated at being prohibited from having anything to do with her passion. That makes her less volatile and is a sort of distraction from her feelings about her dormant sealing powers. A huge mental health buff for our girl.
Anyway I'm rambling, but basically Terrako changed Zelda's mood a whole bunch which allowed her to be friendlier to Link and not push him away :D
Zelda' is kinder to Link because of Terrako. She is a scholar and being around him reminds her of the Sheikah technology she loved being around. So she didn't lash out at Link...instead it cheered her up.
@@mrbubbles6468 but.... how? none of this relates to mipha except maybe knowing link? genuinely curious, not trying to jab
Not only that but Impa was there most of the time and Urbosa was around more. They both were there to reassure and cheer Zelda up

3:48 Terrako is angry because Link yeeted him to protect Zelda.

The Japanese verison especially adds more that Link had feelings for Zelda. Such as the diary entries in the Sheikah slate. Which are Link's diary entries. So I noticed something. When ever Zelda looks for Link's support in aoc he just knods, I think this is way for him to let him know that he supports with out openly expressing it, because I belive he steels the pressure of being an appointed knight in this timeline. So this has too payoffs one is when the defeat calamity gannon at the end, Zelda looks at Link, Link smiles and knods and Zelda smiles and knods back, almost as if this is some way the communicate with eachother. Another moment is after the spring of coufage mission is when Impa tries to cheer Zelda up. Terrako walks up beeps at her and then she looks at Link. Link smiles and knods letting her know shs has his support, and just that makes her smile, even if just a little bit. Just knowing she has the support of Link makes her feel way better than with just Impa's words. So I thought that was a point bringing up.
I see age of calamity more as a what if scenario, cause unlike oot things only changed from when Link met Zelda with prior knowledge and lived the events proceeding. Even tho Terroko changed things, there're to many inconsintancies leading up to when he arrived.

What I found funny about this whole zelink theory in AoC, is how Link and Zelda both activate powers, although Zelda’s power can be disputed, the master sword never activated while link was still on that pedestal platform, but when he realised Zelda was in imminent danger. As the sword is bound to the hero’s soul, I think that he let go of his steel like state and showed an emotion that forced fi inside the sword to react with light that destroyed the malice like heroes. Another reason I find this peculiar is because even in BoTW the sword doesn’t glow until you start to pull it out the pedestal, whereas here it unleashes a strong power while still in the pedestal. Idk I feel like this could mean something.

I recently rewatched all the cutscenes of AoC and I noticed something... when Zelda is giving her speech after Terrako gets broken she says the following- “for all those harmed and slain” and it cuts to Terrako. She then says “for our future” and it cuts to Link. I found it odd that it cut to him instead of the people who had come from the literal future to help them. Could this be a reference to him possibly being the king someday if he married Zelda?
It could
No, it's a little bit of a jump to conclusions. It is likely that he will seal ganon, who would destroy hyrule, making him the "future" of hyrule.
“Wake up link, it’s time for your 3 am master sword flattening!”
“Yes princess.”
11:08 Impa and Zelda watching Link eat magma. *visible concern*
Dunno how much it can confirm this theory on whether or not the two will be together but (spoiler alert) when Zelda finally seals Calamity Ganon away in AoC, Link gives her this look, which is barely more than a curl of the lip, but it's the closest we see him to smiling the entire game. It fills me up every time I watch that cutscene! Like he's genuinely so proud of her! Ahhhh I ship it so hard!

That's embarrassing...
In the french version of age of calamity, when links kill 1000 ennemies Impa or anyone else say « ..... im glad you’re by our side » but Zelda say « .... im glad you’re by MY side »
Zelda love link for sure
When anyone else goes to save Mipha from Waterblight Ganon, she says, “I knew someone would come.”
When Link goes to rescue her, she says, “Link, I knew you would come”
Mipha loves Link for sure
Zelda thinking of her dad doesn’t necessarily suggest that she would’ve unlocked her powers if she had run to her dad back then. There’s no guarantee that would’ve been the trigger. All it means is she didn’t wanna make the same mistake/lose someone else she loved again. But both times in both games it took Link for her to do it, and there’s no evidence it’s just general love that unlocks it since it’s been Link both times, and the Kass Song/mentor backstory/Mipha interruption points to romantic love being the trigger
Not only that, but Zelda always loved her dad. What’s the trigger here? Saving someone she loves, or finding it? The song says Zelda’s love for her knight unlocks her powers, not necessarily her trying to protect him. In Hyrule Warriors AOC she fights to protect people she loves quite often before the moment she awakens, but never unlocks her powers until the end with Link, suggesting to me that she needs to REALIZE her love for someone or fall in love to unlock them. A big assumption is being made here that it’s Zelda’s act of protecting a loved one, but she already does that in AOC a lot. The kass song only says the LOVE for her knight, not her ACT OF LOVE for her knight, triggered her power. You can read it more as her fully falling in love with Link at that moment or realizing that she already did which triggered her power, rather than her act of protecting someone she already loved/knew she loved triggering her power.
Either way, it proves she loves Link. And given BOTWs explanation, and how it happens the same way twice, as you said, I believe it’s intended to be the same in AOC. As for Links side, the biggest indicator for him loving Zelda is the Master Sword scene. Not necessarily by itself alone, but because it parallels Zelda’s scene of protecting Link via her love for him, suggesting Link loves Zelda romantically as well, maybe earlier than Zelda did for him (or at least before she realized it). I feel like Links scene having an absolutely perfect parallel with Zelda’s scene, which is romantic on her side, leans things a lot on it being romantic mutually between both of them. I’m a bit surprised you didn’t point this out.
Also, the end credits with Link and the Egg going to Zelda felt like a “family” type scene almost lol
And yes the memory of what her dad did, and the similarity to the situation, helped her to run back, but she was still running back for Link and out of her love for him. Especially evidenced by the specific screaming out and reaching for him lol I don’t think it’d be correct to say she was running back more for her dad than for Link. Not that she wouldn’t wanna run back for her dad, but that scene was Zelda to Link, with her dad moreso drawing a parallel to it and serving as regret/the push to run back
Side note: Not sure if you ever covered it, but Mipha told Link in BOTW DLC (the extra dialogue from refighting the blights) that she regrets not saying certain things to Zelda. Which I think goes along perfectly with the moment where Mipha was about to tell Zelda about her love unlocking her power. She regrets it because it ended up true, and maybe also because she was afraid of that happening (her loving or falling in love with Link)
And likewise in the dlc, Urbosa says she’ll tell Zelda’s mother (in the afterlife) that her daughters in good hands (Links)

Jeez but there are so many ships in BotW...Mipha, Sidon, Flowerblight Ganon, Greaves the beautiful diving Zora, every great fairy, Paya, shopkeepers...Link is in demand
When I watched all the cutscenes I felt that Zelda was the main protagonist and the Egg robot was her sidekick, while Link served as comic relief
Ah yes, rocks are in my top 5 favorite foods as well
When I watched the cut scenes I felt Impa and her interactions with Terrako was comic relief and Link was kinda just there
Idk I forgot he was in most of the cutscenes he was pretty much in the background over half the time
The story is not the cutscenes, you fuckers lost a lot of story not playing the game.

Link and Zelda will always have romantic feelings for each other, even when there other love interest for Link. Both him and Zelda are reincarnated throughout the centuries. So they’re always going to have automatic romantic tension for each other, it doesn’t matter the story complex in different titles. They were always lovers before they got reincarnated.

What I like about AoC is that they actually give them more personality and body language. It's almost perfect. I'd watch it if it was a tv show
I wanted to talk to you about my teacher. My teacher was of the Shiekah tribe. He was the court poet for the Hyrulean royal family.
At the time, there was a beautiful princess in the royal family, quite close to my teacher in age, apparently. Though he must have know it was doomed to be unrequited, my teacher fell in love with her...
But the princess herself only had eyes for her escort, her own knight attendant. My teacher was consumed with jealousy... He fumed that the knight was neither nobility nor royalty himself.
And then the Calamity struck.
...My teacher believed a hero would appear to beat back the Calamity. He poured that belief into a song. And that song is what I need you to hear.
- Kass's final song.....
It's so detailed
And his teacher died a few years before link woke up. He was so close
Personally, I like to think that Hylia originally chose her hero because she felt love for him and her first mortal incarnation of Zelda seemed to express that in SS even after she regained her memories as Hylia. She even expressed regret for appointing him as her hero in the first place because she hated seeing that burden placed onto him and felt that she 'used him', implying that she wished their circumstances would have been different because, perhaps it would allow them to be together normally and not have to chase destiny instead. Links and Zelda's relationship (and intimacy) in SS is something no other Zelda game has lived up to in my opinion, at least in how direct the implications are. The last two games have definitely taken their relationship into a bigger account and I think that's great for future Zelda games.
What about TP? As much as it sucks to say it, there is no romantic chemistry between them. They are also hardly friends, they are just two people trying to stop Ganondorf.
@@nexarus42 That is a fair point. In the beginning of TP, Link was supposed to deliver a sword to the royal family in Hyrule. Perhaps this was supposed to be when they met but events of TP happened and they had no time to get acquainted and deed up on two separate ends in the fight against Ganondorf. Especially because Zelda and Link were mediated by Midna who was technically the star of the show here, which developed a bond with both Zelda and Link rather than it being Link and Zelda.

While I was mad about the timetravel stuff after teba and the others arrived, because I had different expectations, they got me with the story as I got deeper into it. It just felt so good to kinda revenge hyrule? I stopped holding my grudge against AoC. The music makes up for it. I was near tears because everything felt so badass.
It’s fun fanservice and I’m ok with that 😭🥺
@@dalkay exactly and i think people tend to forget that it is was it is, a warriors game. A really cool one. (If they only had it advertised a little bit differently.)
I’m not gonna lie, I did cry at certain parts of the story, I mean yeah I felt the same, pretty upset at first knowing that it’s a completely different timeline but as the story progressed especially starting from chapter 6, wow. All those missions leading up to the finale was pretty damn rewarding (and the music is just so damn amazing)
I mean, I'm pretty sure Link likes Zelda back. The whole Master Sword thing pretty much confirms it. I think in BOTW Link had the Master Sword since he was 12, so I think what activated that was the fact that he didn't want to let everybody down. In AoC, however, he was just a knight but was still pressured by his dad. His motive that time was Zelda in danger of dying. Link didn't care about his duty, he cared about Zelda and could relate to her easily. Both powers activated protecting each other. How sweet. ;)
I think the master sword cutscene does mean a lot. I definitely believe that Zelink is cannon in BOTW. And I’m sorry but link doesn’t seem to have feelings towards Mipha in that way. She’s just got a massive crush that can get annoying.
Mipha is Ruto 2.0 please!
In BotW, Mipha is dead, so that’s obvious.
In AoC, different story. Mipha lives and there’s not that silent burden on Link’s part.
Not to mention when Zelda went to Zora’s Domain to speak with King Dorephan regarding Mipha piloting Vah Ruta, she was alone in the throne room with him.
- Where was Link? At another part of the domain with Mipha. *HMMMM*
I don’t know who Link’s in love with, but I’m in love with Mipha

Honestly the game confused me so much. When I got it I was prepared to see all the Champions die and for the game to end after Link was put in the shrine of Ressurection. It was so confusing for me. (ALSO THE KING MAN I thought he died n then he was like ?? there?? again?? cause?? magic shield? xD)
The cutscenes were AMAZING (especially those were Link obtains the sword and Zelda unlocks her powers), and I love the characters but idk man. I think Nintendo shouldn't have announced it as a direct prequel to BOTW since it obviously is a completely different timeline than Breath Of The Wild, which is why I dont think AOC is canon.
I did enjoy the music of this game a ton tho, it had great vibes to it.
Amazing video, can't wait for the BOTW2 Zelink video :D
I definitely agree that Nintendo’s advertising for this game was messed up. While I did enjoy age of Calamity, it felt like Hyrule Warriors with a Breath of the Wild skin on it. Nintendo was using breath of the wild to give people a reason to buy the game. I kinda hope AoC won’t have any impact on Botw 2 for the sake of consistency between Botw and Botw2, but time will tell.

The real question bugging me about Age of Calamity is ...
When exactly is the moment that Terrako dropped back in time?
- Link didn't had the Master Sword.
- Zelda didn't know about this over skilled soldier.
- Daruk also doesn't seem to know Link. (It looked like he already considered Link a bro in the memory where Zelda recruits him)
Was it the first battle Link participated as a Soldier?
It doesn't seem that the time for the first half of Age of Calamity (until Zelda Birthday), is longer than the time required for all the memories that happen before the calamity in BotW.
@@joegoodart6241 We'll it's an alternate timeline so things ended differently as a result.
Link loves food, and zelda is one thicc snack
I like to think that when Link and Zelda set out for the master sword, Link was never the person to wield the master sword. I think the reason why the master sword released a beam of light is because of Links desperate last try to save Zelda beyond reach.. The master sword realised his purity in this short moment and decided to release the beam of light to secure both their safety. At that very moment the master sword/fi chose Link as the knight who seals the darkness
Link activating the master sword to save Zelda is parallel to how Zelda unlocked her powers to save Link in botw. The song Kass sings mentioned that it was “love for her knight” that helped the princess unleash her powers so it’s safe to assume it’s the same thing in AoC considering Link didn’t obtain the sword until that moment where Zelda is in danger and he wants to save her.
Also a little bit on the Mipha end, she states in the original game that ever since Link has been appointed as Zelda’s knight attendant, that’s when things got more distant between them. It wasn’t cause of his acquiring from the master sword even though that may have been a reason as well. In AoC, Link is already appointed as Zelda’s knight from the start so them being close even in AoC probably isn’t likely either.
Can we talk about how in both timelines Zelda's power awakens in Fort Hateno?
Don't know where else to put this, so I'm commenting it here.
My husband was watching me play Age of Calamity (I haven't finished it yet), and he told me to pause it so he could tell me his theory on why Zelda's power doesn't awaken until needed.
His theory is that it's like all the other stories we've heard where you can't have light without darkness. Maybe Zelda's power doesn't awaken until Ganon is released because her power doesn't exist until then.
I thought it was an interesting idea and felt like I had to tell someone.
3:48 i think Terrako was bothering link because Link pushed Terrako aside when it tried to protect zelda from the attack, as opposed to it being jealous of their relationship. i mean Terrako follows Link in all the gameplay
Urbosa basically said "You're jealous of the guy who is currently eating several rocks on a dare"

Something to think about with the scene in which Terrako gets in between Link and Zelda... This scene happens immediately after Link knocks Terrako aside to save the princess. Terrako could simply be annoyed with having been knocked away.
I still love how Terrako just slaps the dagger away XD
I’ve got to say, the cutscene where Link draws the Master Sword in this game is the best one out of the entire series.

Exactly how it went for me. Then Riju and Patricia came flying in and I was like... what??? I'm happy with the game we got but I think I personally would have been happier seeing the exact events unfold
I was so excited for a prequel, and instead I got a fan-service fanfic. I mean, it’s a Hyrule Warriors game, so we all should have expected it, but how could we when the marketing was so deliberately misleading?
This game contradicts too much with botw to be canon
They advertised this game to be a prequel which inevitably let me down, if they advertised it as a side story I'd probably be much more happy with it
Exactly. What gets me is that Nintendo just misled everyone and got us pumped for something they knew they weren’t gonna provide. Like, if you told me this was a “what if” Hyrule Warriors game? I’d understand. I’d probably like it. But they just said “this is what happens 100 years before botw :)” and that was just a lie, and being lied to hurts.

just wanted to point out something i found on another youtube video, during a botw memory when link is called out for being reckless by zelda for fighting multiple combatants we see zelda touching links forehead/ stroking his hair at the start of the cutscene. you could say that she was checking his wound however, we know that the cut that he has is on his arm and ends up having to get mipha to heal his arm, impying that there was no damage to his head. meaning that there would have been no reason for zelda to be touching his head. sorry for the tangent, you probably already knew this juts thought it was interesting.
You missed something that I caught while looking through the cutscenes. Every time Zelda, Link, and Impa are about to go somewhere or follow someone, Zelda always looks to Link for his approval. I've seen this in nearly every cutscene. Also I thought about the Silent Princess. It's almost like it's a hint that Link and Zelda are a thing. Link is known as the Silent Knight and Zelda is obviously the princess. Combine the two and you have the Silent Princess
Again, a jump to conclusions. Link is silent in every game of the series, and Zelda is always a princess. It's not about the love triangle, as neither are always attracted
I think Link and Zelda are close but it's a brother/sister thing more than outright love. Zelda's in love with relics and her people. She has a duty as leader of the Kingdom of Hyrule and she takes that into consideration. Plus, there's the loose end of Mipha. I think if Mipha was honest with Zelda, Zelda would've helped Mipha get closer to Link as the two seem to have a good relationship on the whole. Mipha has a second chance now that she and the other Champions are alive again in this new timeline.
Link and Mipha hardly interact in this game to warrant them being the canon relationship imo. Yes, they were close once. They really only have one scene together- and in that scene, they reunite after years of not seeing each other- and then one moment in a group scene where she gets shy about him looking over at her. Her being alive doesn’t mean Link should just pursue a relationship with her.
@@mandya7882 The game focused heavily on Zelda, yes but still gave us hints that Mipha's interest towards Link is still there. Had she died as in the original timeline, I would've said sure..Zelink for sure. But BOTW Mipha's story being so tragic and now that she's been given a second chance...I don't see her wasting that chance to have a romantic relationship with Link. There's story potential there if done right and I hope they take advantage of it in BOTW 2(probably why they brought back the Champions so they could be around for the sequel). Sides, Zelink's been done to death and it's time for a change.
@@ART1984ableTOTK literally confirmed that Zelink was canon lol

Link is in love with that one thicc piece of meat he's eating for lunch and nothing more. XD
No in all seriousness I don't think there are as much clues to a romance in AoC than in BotW, but yeah. Zelink all the way! ^^
I personally think that Link's and Zelda's relationship is far better in this game and has much better chances for a romantic relationship than BotW cuz Zelda actually got to know Link better from the start and didn't refuse his company! And that there's saying something! I also believe the game IS INDEED canon cuz everything is the same but due to the presence of Terrako what was SUPPOSED to happen was altered to occur differently! Remember Ocarina of Time? That game's Link was returned to his childhood thus was completely removed from the adult timeline and created the future where Wind waker occurred PLUS allowed for the Hero of Time's descendant in Twilight Princess to exist! SO that said, this game's Zelink possiblity was higher from the start! The game's just a canon what if possiblity type way of seeing things differently! It is both a prequel/yet not a prequel story at the same time but I am completely enjoying the game
You are suggesting that as if Nintendo knew all along what was what. No, back then they decided the timeline split and which story belonged to which timeline mostly _to shut people up about it._ It is far more recently that they began to take the timeline issue seriously and made content to reflect that. The above is only there Because Nintendo Says So. Age of Calamity instead made it extremely plain what had happened and what the result was. Clearly shown instead of just Because Nintendo Says So.

I think Link is in love with food.
YES!! underrated comment 😆
It’s interesting how the master sword reacts to Link wanting to protect Zelda. Fi, after all, knows that the first Link and Zelda from Skyloft were in love. I remember having Link reciprocate Beatrice’s (I think was her name?) romantic feelings in one play through and Fi stepped in to say that Link better not tell Zelda about this. Fi straight up was like you’re cheating on Zelda right now and you should feel bad 😂
I would argue that Terrako was not jealous of the attention Zelda was giving Link. Instead, what if it was about prevention a relationship from sprouting between the two. In the original breath of the wild, Zelda sacrificed herself to save everyone, but the catalyst for this event was to save Link who was in danger; the same as in this story. Therefore, preventing romantic feelings for Lin would stop, or at least decrease the odds of Zelda sacrificing herself to save him.
