- It's been nearly three years since a Long Island woman was attacked with acid in front of her own home. She spoke alongside her parents on Friday as the search continues for her attacker. NBC New York's Gaby Acevedo reports.

100% someone from her own community. Im not being racist just want them to solve this. Acid attacks sadly are more common in bangladesh, india, middle east etc This can happen to average (non-foerign) citizens but it's not as common. As soon as she mentioned ramadan i already knew. Its a cultural issue, not religious but her saying ramadan nailed it down. She needs to look if she said no to any suitors, or if there was anyone who was pushing her to wear hijab etc in the community, or if she spoke out sgainst anyone and defied a norm. Once again not about blaming a group nor religion. Solving things takes data and patrerns,not feelings. And that's a pattern for those communities same as theres bad patterns for other communities

Acid attacks are very common in the Middle East and South Asia. It seems the victim or her parents originate from that area so I'm guessing the perpetrator must know her or her family.

Yeah, he got the acid from someone local. Check car battery sellers and ask people around town where they would buy acid. Someone has heard chatter. Google can even check to see who googled 'sulfuric acid' in that town that week. No real detective work was done, unlike how many cops investigated when Jussie Smollett said he was the victim of MAGA whites. That hoax crime got all the manpower. Political justice.

Acid attacks are a form of violence, in which acid or another corrosive substance is thrown at a person with the intention of maiming, torturing or killing them.
That is attempted murder.

The Nassau County detective squad initially mishandled the case. Tracing the acid content from a lab would have helped catch the assailant. FBI does this type of work all the time.

I think the FBI investigation needs to check were the last time the purchase of sulfuric acid in the 50 mile radius from store receipts. And then also investigate the people she’s surrounded by who is close to that facility. I don’t know? We're well past the year 2000 yet somehow the quality of the surveillance cameras hasn't improved much - if at all - since the 90's. Every time something important is caught on camera, it's always a blurry image, like her attacker in this instance.
So true... and I cannot believe that's the only camera in the entire neighborhood. Aside from the cameras, I'm sure someone saw something but is probably afraid to speak out in fear of retaliation.

3 years on and not a single suspect? This crime isn't done randomly so it's very odd that they have gotten no further in their investigation. A strong woman who won't let them forget and won't let it stop her from living.

To do something like that to someone; you would have to be CONSUMED with hatred for them. To hate them that much; you had to have loved them at some point. It has to be someone she knows.

No other similar attacks in the area? Right when she was getting inside her house? She is of South Asian descent? This person definitely knew her, her schedule, and is likely from her culture. These attacks are very common in South Asia.

This is a good example of the kind of abuse that happens in Pakistan, and I think the person who did this should be held responsible and prosecuted as soon as possible. It's "abuse" if the female doesn't acquiesce to her husband or boyfriend. Most females are not women; they are less thans. Most of them are unfettered children and must be treated as such. It is really common in auto repair shops, it is what is used in lead-acid car batteries. (sometimes called battery acid.) You can get it at any auto parts supplier.

Just youtube search “acid attack” and you will see most of them are Indian, muslim / middle eastern or a bitter ex. Yes there is a chance it might be completely random but more than likely it’s not and they need look into her inner circle because acid attacks like this are very rarely random attacks. If you cant see that well thank god you’re not a police detective because you would suck at your job 😂

I can only imagine the stress, anger and trauma that this unwarranted act which greatly altered her appearance has done to her mentally.
