21:07 To answer your question, Chugga - yes, Rump Command is based on the adrenal glands of the body, which are located just on top of your kidneys. It’s not QUITE in the butt, but close enough for the writers to make the joke. Edit - Apparently the Mario Wiki states that Rump Command is in Bowser’s tail. So all I can say is that Bowser must have the weirdest anatomy ever.
Was that really intentional? The adrenals and kidneys are really not all that close to the butt. They're closer to the lower back (and, in fact, that's where people tend to feel pain that originates in their kidneys). The adrenals ARE indeed where adrenaline comes from, though.
Right! And that cool. Making it a boat ride also makes sense then if it was the kidney. Also, the map of Bowser makes little sense for the rest of the area,so sure why not. Maybe Koopas awkward body part placement.
Love how Chuggaa is editing these more deeply with jokes and gags in stuff. But I also like how It’s still mostly focused on the game. It strikes the perfect balance for me.
In a way, it kinda reminds me of Proton Jon's LPs. He was having a lot of fun with those playthroughs during his comeback era, but then his custom Jet Set Radio Future machine broke, and I guess that ruined his groove. And that's a massive shame, since his JSRF playthrough was a wonderful experience, for as short a time as it lasted.
Yeah. I like having a few interesting edits here and there but still with an emphasis on raw gameplay. Channels nowadays go overboard with the edits and text for the kiddos with 2 second attention spans. It’s why I still watch LP’s.
I LOVE that we finally got a canon explanation for Bowser constantly clicking the “scale” tool whenever he’s first defeated in games like NSMBW- it’s a surge of adrenaline as his body fights to hold itself together. Makes me happy to know I also have lil’ cell friends working hard to keep my innards intact.
My headcanon is that Bowser's adrenaline flow can be influenced by all sorts of strong power sources. Like the Shine Sprite he was bathing with in Sunshine, or the Grand Star he swallowed in Galaxy 2.
@@ShyGuyXXL It could come down overall to heat. Hot Drumsticks power him up, giant Bowser can casually wade through lava, and his Sunshine bath was in boiling-hot acid above a volcano. Dude’s survived getting chucked into a star before in Galaxy, I can see him having survival mechanisms relating to all things thermal.
This was the moment where 9-year-old me truly saw Bowser as “the king of awesome”. Bro got crushed by his own castle, survived, grew giant, and beat the crap out of it. You cannot make this up.
The last time I saw something that kind of nuts was the latter part of the Wyzen fight in Asura's Wrath. People who remember that game almost certainly remember that fight, and to paraphrase the late TotalBiscuit, "I think they may have gone a bit over the top."
guess it's kind of canon that he grows big from adrenaline lol which I guess can make sense since it is a hormone I guess his is just more powerful lol
Fun fact: If you observe the castle in the giant fight without doing anything for a while, you can see the one of the Dry Bones on the turrets trying to play with their head while the other one tries catching him doing the act. The suspicious Dry Bones checks the goofy one faster and faster over time.
Time to pull this good old reference again.. 23:19 "AHHHHHH IT'S GODZILLA!" "It looks likes Godzilla but due to international copyright laws it's not." "STILL WE SHOULD RUN LIKE IT IS GODZILLA!" "Though it isn't." LOL.
I'm feeling like the moment Chugga realized he could increase whatever stat he wanted was after leveling on a giant battle and seeing he could tap them all.
Fun trivia: Nintendo Power magazine offered a preview of this game prior to release, showcasing what we can expect in "the first hour" of gameplay. It played the game up to this point. I would like to know who on the magazine staff made it this far in just one hour. Especially since this was when the game was brand new and so no strategy guides or speedruns existed yet.
Skipping the tutorials to save time is definitely something they could've done, especially if they're just trying to go in as straight a path as possible.
SOMEONE ELSE BROUGHT UP THE NINTENDO POWER ISSUE. I remember reading through it as a kid and realizing "wow, they just spoiled a big chunk of the game before it came out, huh?" I hope Chuggaa brings it up because whyyyyyy would they do that
Chad was in that day, and insisted on helping Mary cover the game. He beat every minigame first try, and the bosses melted like wax before him. Amazing to think that the janitor would be such an incredible gamer!
In answer to the "what's this based on?": Adrenaline is produced in the adrenal glands, which are on top of the kidneys. Placing it in the butt probably happened because the anatomically correct position (midback, just below the ribs) was already taken by other stuff. As for calling it "rump command", well, the kidneys are part of the urinary system, which deals with bodily waste. The back end tends to be less sexualized, and is thus safter to talk about in a game intended for children. So, effectively the Bros are traveling up the urinary tract to reach the kidneys and the adrenal glands atop them, in order to power up Bowser's adrenaline levels enough for him to shrug off the castle falling on him, much the way a mom can suddenly pick up a car to free her kid, in our world. Er, sorry for the random geek-out into medical stuff. it's... sort of a special interest? And you did ask...
29:00 For as much as the 3DS remake ruins I can’t deny the cutscenes for the giant battles are really cool. The shot of bowsers pure white eye opening is so cool. And while the finishers are a joke, the spectacle of each of them is really cool to watch
What I don't like is the cutscenes that we get after the battle, though. They feel too drawn-out and they play the same music as before the battle, which really doesn't fit.
Not only that, this is the first time we're seeing those things too. Wouldn't we have had to see them much sooner since they know there's invaders? I don't know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
Living way out in the open makes you more vulnerable to malicious intruders, so I imagine they’re just taking precautions, albeit to somewhat petty extremes.
I remember being told "Those signs are for their sake, not mine." People need to remember that people who live out in rural areas are keen to protect their property themselves since police wouldn't show up until it's way beyond too late otherwise.
@@DarthSearsYeah, in cities police are already minutes away at best (if someone breaks into your home with intent to do harm, you have seconds at worst to defend yourself) But I’m the country, they can take even longer to arrive
Fawful’s minions: “Man this castle we captured is awesome! I sure hope nothing bad happens right after this victory!” Bowser: *Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die Jäger!*
i've always assumed the adrenaline area is based on the river styx, with all the having to use boats to cross it, being related to death and the purple water being very similar to super paper mario's river twygz
I love the extra detail of Bowser's minions falling from the castle, as they rush off; alluding to the player the available special moves left for Bowser based on what minions fell.
A long time ago during his play through of B&W 1 I made a comment about when you’re a kid you play a certain game and in it you have a moment where you realize that gaming is much more than what you think it is and what it could be. This first giant fight was a secondary moment for me
4:51 because Bowser thinks of Mario and Luigi as more of a disease than the parasite eating his insides. When he says he hates Mario and Green Stache with all of his being, he was quite literal about that.
I like to think Bowser’s immune system targets Mario and Luigi and not a giant bone destroying worm is because while his brain doesn’t know it, his body does recognize the two and thus they target the bros despite it being pretty inefficient.
21:10 I’m surprised you didn’t get the stealth pun. “Rump Command”, adrenaline resurrecting from critical damage. You’re quite literally saving his @$$!
Funny you say that. In the french canadian version of the game, this area is called "Cul-de-sac" normally, it means dead-end, but they chose this name because it have the word cul in it. I guess I don't need to tell you what it means.
Frankly, the Durmite boss fight always struck me as a bit off. After all, Mario and Luigi just fought a boss. Their last major section was the pump works, where they fought Scutlett. Since then, the most they've fought are a few Leaf Guys during the Wiggler fight, so they've barely gained a level, if that. I can't help but wonder if originally they planned to make the Nerve Cluster a whole area, or made it so you had to clear and area to get to it, but ended up scrapping it and just taking you right to the boss.
5:30 i can confirm! after playing BIS recently in my own time I found fire flower was alot harder then I remember. And it is because you have to do it at a certain ryhtym and not just mindlessly mash!
*Dimble Wood* Starlow: Hey, Bowser? How are you holding up? Bowser: Well, I ate a giant carrot, punched a Wiggler in the face, got an awful stomachache, the pain moved to my arm, but it allowed me to punch while moving, so that's cool. Then I went to shoot a Banzai Bill at my castle, only for it fly away and crush me. Next thing I know I grow to the size of the castle and punch it's lights out. So, overall, ... I feel great! Starlow: That's good to hear, I guess. Bowser: Man, this really is a day of highs and lows, but that's not going to stop me from getting my castle back! Goomther: That's right, Lord Bowser. We're with you to the very end. Bowser: That's the spirit. Chippy, write this down! Starlow: You got it. Starlow's Log Day 10: Today has been a wild day, more than it normally is. First, helped Bowser pull a carrot out of the ground and helped him digest it. Then had to fight off a Wiggler and Leaf Guys that were inhaled. After that, Bowser got a stomachache from a Durmite, so we had to take it out, only for us to be chased down by white blood cells. This did lead us to finding Toadbert down here and gave Bowser a new ability to use, thankfully. Once we fired the Banzai Bill, however, Bowser's Castle flew over to him and he was crushed. Mario and Luigi had to jump start his adrenaline to bring him back to life, but in addition, made him huge. After fighting off his own castle, he returned to normal size. This has certainly been an insane day for both Bowser and the bros. Starlow: Done. Bowser: Nice. To path forward to my castle shouldn't be much farther. That hunk of bacon thinks he can take me out that easily, well think again! Now then, forward march! Goomther: Yes sir! Goomba squad, move out! Bowser: The king's coming home!
News ticker 9 Taste T.: Hello my scrumptious cooks. My name is Taste Tabitha and welcome to "Huge Nutrition of Tiny Proportions." Today we shall talk about carrots. And we have a guest today. Mini Wiggler: Hello, everyone! I am a wiggler who works on the family farm. What are we making today? Taste T.: Today's recipe is carrot soup. *beep* Captain Goomba: *slurp* Man. This sucks. Almost everyone at the castle is taken over. But we did catch a few that tried to flee the castle. Captain Koopa: Yeah. It was a *hot* battle, but Lord Bowser crushed the competition. Captain Shy Guy: That was actually a funny joke considering the end. *slurp* It's good to have a carrot soup recipe video on hand for this. Hopefully the farm hands won't be mad. Earlier... Captain Goomba: Woah. What is this shaking? Captain Boo: When did the castle get here? Captain Goomba: This is- Captain Shy Guy: NO! Captain: But I- Captain Shy Guy: Just, no. We know what you are about to say. No. *shaking* Captain Boo: Now what? *Bowser Grows* Four Captains: WHAT IN THE- *Present* Captain Boo: That was nuts.
Though not likely, I can see Captain Boo saying that, Captain Shy Guy remembering what Captain Goomba was about to say (which I feel was “This is nuts!”), then having a reaction to Captain Boo saying it, then chasing him, chucking turnips the entire time.
On the subject of giant battles, I’m absolutely in love with the remake version of the giant battle theme. Yoko Shimomura really outdid herself with that one.
Not joking: the disgusting carrot parasite nearly turned me off of eating carrots for the rest of my life. Kid me honestly thought I would get that thing inside me if I ate one. Took me a while before I was able to eat them again because of this game. And the rump command game is in my top 3 most hated minigames ever. Might even be my number 1. The carrot was tame in comparison...
And now for one of the best battles of the first section. The moment itself is scary. Like you just finished fixing up Bowser’s stomach, and after the Banzai Bill is launched, the castle COMES TOWARDS BOWSER AND KILLS HIM! His own home, takes his life. And then the giant battle happens, which is amazing, and it’s one of my favorite battle themes in this game. What helps the mood is that everyone in Dimble Wood is surprised much like the player is. Mind you, this battle with the castle is all before you have even entered it at all, so it makes you wonder what the hell is going on in there (helps that it’s my favorite area, and we’ll get to why eventually)! Side note: Challenge Medal Durmite is *brutal*. The attacks are already tough enough, so added damage and potentially not KO’ing the straw is a massive issue you’ll have …I notice I have a lot to say I my comments
Been playing through with challenge medal for the first time, I was surprised with how long the durmite fight goes on. Didn’t lose but felt super pressured with having to constantly manage my SP so that I could green shell the straw. Big endurance test
Before I begin, I should clarify that my scoring mechanisms for battle stay the same for giant battles, with both of Bowser's attacks being considered as normal attacks. The only difference is that I calculate the HP bonus off of Bowser's remaining health as an approximate percentage, going in increments of 10 percentage points and awarding 100 points per percentage point remaining. *Running Totals* *Action Commands* Normal Attack OKs: 7 x 10 = 70 pts. Arm Center 2: 12,000 pts. Arm Center 3: 36,230 pts. (For the rhythm version, each individual strike is worth 10 instead of 100. This minigame's much higher score also gave me a new standard for minigame scoring.) Gut Check: 24,060 pts. The Rump Command's scoring system goes like this: normal red and green adrenaline is worth 100 points, spiky red and green adrenaline is worth 200, blue adrenaline is worth 1000, and the big adrenaline at the end is worth 5000. Perfectly cleared adrenaline patterns where all the adrenaline is hit award 500 points each. Finally, any leftover hearts award a bonus 5000 points each. With all this said, Chuggaa's score for this minigame was 22,400 points. *Footnotes* 4:48 I was going to count each time these things showed up as one separate 3-enemy battle. This is because if this happens more than three times, the point chain system I'm using would break because NSMB's point chain system only scores the first seven enemies. Thankfully, these things only showed up once. 11:47 I counted five boulders here. 13:47 No, Chuggaa! You are not doing what I think you're doing! 14:11 Oh, thank goodness... 15:27 Trashures can run away, so I cannot count this as any completed battle. *This Episode's Score:* 74,720 pts. *Total Score So Far:* 566,240 pts. (I can't believe we're past half a million already!)
I love how it went from "If I can't have my castle... NO ONE CAN!" Giant Battles! Certainly a fun addition and paves the way for the ones in Dream Team (which is better there imo).
I would agree with you if it weren’t for the horrible gyro controls that Dream Team’s giant battles have. In normal mode they work fine, but in hard mode they’re extremely buggy to the point where it almost makes those sections unplayable and you just have to get lucky with them or else you’re screwed.
@@TKG785 I wasn’t saying I hate them, I was just saying that I disagree about the ones in Dream Team being better than the ones in this game because of how bad the gyro controls are when playing in hard mode. If the gyro controls didn’t have that issue when playing in hard mode, then I would definitely agree with you about the giant battles in Dream Team being better than the ones in this game.
0:27 I live in said boonies, our driveway is just after a blind turn and people use it all the time for when they miss the road they need to go down. I dont mind it because i know that.
We used to have a circular driveway and man the number of people pulling in making us think we had visitors just for them to turn around in it really ticked me off back in the day. One time someone even went through and left going the same direction.
Another USA vs EU translation comment USA Bowser: Chippy! You get it done! That’s it, you’re my new minion! EU Bowser: Oi! Chippy! I’ve decided… You’re my new minion! USA Midbus: You have grown giant. As has your cheating! EU Midbus: He’s huge! Why didn’t anyone tell me?!
00:20 It's a matter of not wanting our driveways (frequently easily displaced gravel) and/or yards torn up by people turning around; I can't count how many times I've had to fix ruts in the grass (had to call a tow truck on two occasions where people got stuck and ripped up the area trying to get out by themselves) or replace plants in my flowerbed from people using our driveway to turn around. Most of the time, there's no recourse because by the time you realize something happened, the damage is already done and the driver's already taking off.
I feel that one of my greatest pet peeves about this game is how you can't replay the minigames and bowser boss fights, I think they're neat and a score attack could be fun
You know if it's one thing I missed it was definitely all the gags and edits and screams that Chugga has been doing. Always kicks my sour moods to laughing my sides off. 😂
21:07 I don't know if this perfectly answers your question, but I think the Rump Command is inspired by the Buddhist concept of the Earth Chakra aka the Root or Mudahara Chakra. The Earth Chakra is associated with the physical body and life energy of each individual and also their survival instincts and fight-or-flight response. This chakra is supposedly located in the base of the spine (which could mean Bowser's tail in this case) which is a region that is very close to the butt. This would also explain the Evoglobins and their attained transcendence and spirituality by residing close to one of Bowser's spiritual focus points. In this situation, Bowser's life energy is in mortal peril, and activating his adrenaline in the Earth chakra give Bowser the hysterical strength needed to fight off a foe much larger than himself (like how we can sometimes have hysterical strength if we're placed in life-or-death situations and get an adrenaline rush). The interesting part about this concept of the Earth chakra (earth meaning the ground or dirt) is that there is overlap with how tortoises are often associated with the earth in East Asian mythologies. Perhaps Bowser, as a tortoise, is so highly in touch with his Earth Chakra that his survival instinct allows him to grow to enormous proportions through adrenaline?
If it wasn't for Durmite being the source of Bowser's intense pain, I would've said perhaps there's good reason for his dislike of vegetables. He probably eats them so little that they give him a bad stomachache from not being used to them. But that IS one of the worst feelings, being out and about and having the WORST urge to use the bathroom when you're not near one... Still, he gets the Banzai Bill he was after AND gets access to a new sliding punch ability, by boogity! And then we get the introduction to the giant battles, where Bowser actually gets to unleash his inner Godzilla and fight humongous foes...like his own castle. Well, it DID crush him, so fair's fair, lol And for the problems that the remake of Bowser's Inside Story has, from what I've seen of the giant boss battles, I can at least give it props for making them much more dynamic and climactic, especially with the endings to them.
Aside from the parasite, you really don't want to eat a whole bunch of carrots in one sitting. It will make your stomach hurt. And on top of that, if you eat carrots excessively, like ALL the time every day, you will eventually get vitamin A poisoning.
21:10 to answer your question Chugga, adrenalin is produced by glands on top of your kidneys, so it's in your lower back but definitely not your butt. I thought it might be a weird case of localization, but apparently the Japanese name roughly translates to "Power Space Buttocks" so the name Rump command is kinda close. As for inspiration, I think it might be very loosely based on the River Styx from Greek mythology, but it's very surface level comparisons like Bowser being on the verge of death, along with the river and the boat.
OH MAN WE’RE FINALLY HERE! The giant battles are SO fun (aside from That One Battle late in the game)! I still hate the adrenaline minigame though - I’ve failed the later ones more times than I can count.
Ah yes, the Awful express, and yes I left the F off on purpose because in the original on original hardware with the original crappy mic it is SO AWFUL
@ honestly the trashy boss was the same for me when I was a kid but that guy must have given me stocklholm syndrome because now I love him and his fight, and tbh he became one of my fav fictional characters
@WarmLusamine Junker is the only boss in this game I still occasionally die to as an adult because of its gimmick. It can make you dizzy too, so if Luigi gets removed from the battlefield while Mario is dizzy, good freaking luck. Unlike the other two, I wouldn't call Junker poor game design though, it's just an appropriately leveled late game boss with a gimmick that can screw you over. Not a fan of how the remake made his vacuum so easily avoidable, that's like the whole reason this boss was a challenge.
Something that I just realized is that Bowser’s Inside Story came out in February of 2009, while New Super Mario Bros. Wii came out later that year in November. So Bowser’s Inside Story is actually the first game in the franchise to have Bowser become giant like this, setting the trend for New Super Mario Bros Wii, 2, and U to have giant Bowser as the final boss and for other games to feature the same thing.
@@artofthepossible7329 That’s the “inconsistent size” thing Chugga was referring to. I’m talking about games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2 where you physically see him transform from a smaller size into a giant.

@@hyperdrive282 Yeah. It made the Fawful Express a MUCH easier fight. And it’s inevitable that Chugga is going to have to mention Bowser’s fire breath now being with the touch screen in the remake instead of the microphone.
@@hyperdrive282 I don't hate the remake, I just feel like people are overreacting with the mic and carrot Minigame, I can do the carrot and nose deck minigames very easily now, and my mic never gave me problems, I blow softly a bunch of quick blows instead of a long hard blow, BIS is my favorite game of all time, but I much prefer the original over the remake
This was my most wanted game as a kid I would have literally gave my soul to ANY demon to get it and it still is one of my most wanted games even now but I’m out of luck unless it’s on switch or comes to switch
Giant battles are the highlight of this game for me. As a kid who loved kaiju films, getting to control a giant Bowser to fight giant enemies was so fun. The battles made you feel so powerful! There is one coming later that I disliked, but this was one of the biggest highlights of this game.

0:26 people not wanting other people on their property is not a thing that's restricted to the boonies. When going to school in Covington, which is suburban town, there was this house with not one, not two, but seven bright red "no trespassing" signs. And then sometimes you see those signs that threaten bodily harm and death. "Trespassers will be shot and i have good aim" or something like that.
Kinda weird how when it came to Durmite, Starlow was more apologetic about exterminating her than the scutlet from earlier. (Both random bugs from her perspective)
@@Shantae1188 Probably the same reason why Dreamy Mario wasn’t the first X boss in Dream Team, the attacks in those fights are very simple so it would be difficult to make those boss fights challenging without giving them new attacks.
And now we arrive at one of my favourite parts of the game and honestly one of the best uses of the dual screens of any DS game in my opinion Even though one of these fights is going to cause me PTSD later *Choo choo*
Yup, I know the pain. The 3DS remake removes one troubling aspect of that fight, but in its place it adds gyro controls like for the boss fights in Dream Team.
@@WarmLusamine Could just be because my 3DS is very old and has been dropped a lot, so the gyro controls don't work as well as they might on a better preserved 3DS.

As a kid who couldn't properly read english, I thought the Rump Command was Bowser's crotch. This I somehow equated to reviving him by empowering his sheer manliness.
0:09 this scream is SO GOOD love it 2:43 That says Sidling. Is it supposed to? ...OK actually yeah to Sidle is to "walk in a furtive, unobtrusive, or timid manner, especially sideways or obliquely." according to Google. So actually not a typo, Chuggaa just read it slightly wrong, or tried to correct a typo that wasn't there. Can't say I blame him, that's one obscure word, although I quite like it. Yeah I was thinking the same thing about Bowser just naturally having the power to become huge, super cool, I didn't even think of that before watching this vid but then it hit me!
Your Midbus voice is very different compared to the voice I gave him when I played this game. Most of you would probably bust out laughing if you heard how I imagined Midbus to sound like.
Bowser being able to survive being crushed by a castle makes perfect sense. With how often he's returned after being dropped into lava, thrown at bombs, or otherwise put into mortal peril, of course he'd be tougher than most. This isn't the first time he's been giant, either! It's great how well these mechanics tie in with the main Mario games. 27:37 I am right there with you defending Phantom Hourglass. I am that game's strongest soldier.
I'm so glad you're still doing well. I had a feeling of nostalgia and found your channel again. I remember watching your mario/Luigi galaxy videos when I was about 12, and didn't have any systems. Thanks for helping me enjoy classic games as a kid.
I love it when DS games make good use of both screens simultaneously and include all the console functions into gameplay. Some of my favorite ds games did this. But this is the first time ive seen the console held sideways for a big screen battle. Thats so creative and cool! This sequence alone just increased my opinion of this game
Glad to hear I seemingly wasn't alone in finding that pink bug boss fairly challenging. First playing this game when I was younger, the carrot and then fight combined for a notable roadblock
Hey Chugga, I was really inspired by your BW2 let's play and I'm trying to get a big Funfest together at Magfest! I applied for a panel, but even if it doesn't get accepted, I'm going to make an unofficial event. We got 10 people last year, maybe we can get the full 30 this year!
Kaiju bowser fights were a wonderful idea for them to add. It's so perfect in every way. Even the way he just goes in hard rocking it in the moment. and only questions what happens later.

I’m reasonably confident that the Rump Command is specifically inside Bowser’s tail, which is why it can turn him giant. Us humies don’t got those.
Yup!
He’s been doing that more in recent LPs.
@@GmodPlusWoW Tim used to add movie clips in his vids I wonder if tim rubbed off on him
I LOVE that we finally got a canon explanation for Bowser constantly clicking the “scale” tool whenever he’s first defeated in games like NSMBW- it’s a surge of adrenaline as his body fights to hold itself together.
Makes me happy to know I also have lil’ cell friends working hard to keep my innards intact.
Yeah, Bowser growing giant as a survival mechanism is nuts. Kamek probably knows about it since he always magics up Bowser in those situations.
It’s also magic.
@@Glory2Snowstar Oh hi, Glory. Didn't notice it was you 😅
This was the moment where 9-year-old me truly saw Bowser as “the king of awesome”. Bro got crushed by his own castle, survived, grew giant, and beat the crap out of it. You cannot make this up.
this is definitely a crowning moment of awesome
One of the most memorable moments of the game. Right after a really difficult boss fight and mini game.
The last time I saw something that kind of nuts was the latter part of the Wyzen fight in Asura's Wrath. People who remember that game almost certainly remember that fight, and to paraphrase the late TotalBiscuit, "I think they may have gone a bit over the top."
I think the second phase of the final boss of onimusha 2 is pretty epic as well
guess it's kind of canon that he grows big from adrenaline lol
which I guess can make sense since it is a hormone I guess his is just more powerful lol
Fun fact: If you observe the castle in the giant fight without doing anything for a while, you can see the one of the Dry Bones on the turrets trying to play with their head while the other one tries catching him doing the act. The suspicious Dry Bones checks the goofy one faster and faster over time.
Oh my god, I’ve never noticed that, I love that detail now that I see it

Some people claim it's an accidental (or possibly intentional) pun about Mario and Luigi "saving his ass" here.
I totally didn't realize it until seeing this, but now I accept the pun as intentional.
I kinda figure it's more of a "Boweser needs a good kick in the butt to get him going"
Holy shoot, you evolved!
I remember reading through it as a kid and realizing "wow, they just spoiled a big chunk of the game before it came out, huh?"
I hope Chuggaa brings it up because whyyyyyy would they do that
Chad was in that day, and insisted on helping Mary cover the game. He beat every minigame first try, and the bosses melted like wax before him. Amazing to think that the janitor would be such an incredible gamer!
there is something fitting about bowsers white blood cells find Mario more threatening than the gigantic worm.
Well Bowser does hate Mario to the bone
Worth noting, in turtles and tortoises, the adrenal glands are EVEN LOWER, pretty damned close to the tail, in fact.
Rump command is actually anatomically correct for turtles/tortoises/terrapins which is what koopas are.
"less sexualised" Is that a Progspeak way of saying "not where the literal sex organs are"?
29:00 For as much as the 3DS remake ruins I can’t deny the cutscenes for the giant battles are really cool. The shot of bowsers pure white eye opening is so cool. And while the finishers are a joke, the spectacle of each of them is really cool to watch
What I don't like is the cutscenes that we get after the battle, though. They feel too drawn-out and they play the same music as before the battle, which really doesn't fit.
the giant battles themselves look awful though, first time i saw them in this video and it just looks like an upscaled N64 fan game
I played them on my 3ds, and they look much better on an actual unit.@@edwardfox2039

@@bulborb8756If you mean the train, at least it’s slightly easier in the remake because the fire attack is much easier to do.
2:47 Behold, Bowser's natural defense system attacking the brothers, instead of the worm ACTIVELY SMASHING THROUGH BOWSER'S BONES AND NERVES!!!
The hatred is hard coded into his system.
Not only that, this is the first time we're seeing those things too. Wouldn't we have had to see them much sooner since they know there's invaders? I don't know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

This moment was so hype for me as a child. I don’t think any of us expected Bowser to straight up turn into a kaiju
Also, this was more than a decade before we got Fury Bowser.
I love the extra detail of Bowser's minions falling from the castle, as they rush off; alluding to the player the available special moves left for Bowser based on what minions fell.
Shoutout to Luigi's bye bye voice line that's used once.
Also it's called the rump command because they go there to save Bowser's ass

Starlow: Hey, Bowser?

On the subject of giant battles, I’m absolutely in love with the remake version of the giant battle theme. Yoko Shimomura really outdid herself with that one.

The attacks are already tough enough, so added damage and potentially not KO’ing the straw is a massive issue you’ll have

I live in said boonies, our driveway is just after a blind turn and people use it all the time for when they miss the road they need to go down. I dont mind it because i know that.
We used to have a circular driveway and man the number of people pulling in making us think we had visitors just for them to turn around in it really ticked me off back in the day. One time someone even went through and left going the same direction.

To answer your question, if it hasn't been already answered: Adrenaline comes from the kidneys! It's in the name, "adrenal."
I see, interesting! I thought adrenaline only came from your soul.
I feel that one of my greatest pet peeves about this game is how you can't replay the minigames and bowser boss fights, I think they're neat and a score attack could be fun
The giant Bowser battles have always been my favourite part of this game, and the giant Luigi battles from Dream Team too!😊💖
You know if it's one thing I missed it was definitely all the gags and edits and screams that Chugga has been doing.
Additionally if Bowser's body is more accurate to testudines than humans, then that is pretty much the area his adrenal glands really would be.
Well, it DID crush him, so fair's fair, lol
And for the problems that the remake of Bowser's Inside Story has, from what I've seen of the giant boss battles, I can at least give it props for making them much more dynamic and climactic, especially with the endings to them.
The carrot minigame, that bloody train and a certain TRASHY (hintbloodyhint) boss were the BANES of my time playing this game.
@ honestly the trashy boss was the same for me when I was a kid but that guy must have given me stocklholm syndrome because now I love him and his fight, and tbh he became one of my fav fictional characters
@WarmLusamine
Junker is the only boss in this game I still occasionally die to as an adult because of its gimmick.
@phi_greek Same! I hated him and fought him so much I actually began to love the fight.
Remember how big Bowser was in Sunshine and Galaxy?
@@artofthepossible7329 That’s the “inconsistent size” thing Chugga was referring to. I’m talking about games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2 where you physically see him transform from a smaller size into a giant.
@@artofthepossible7329Also, when you say “Galaxy”, I assume you mean Galaxy 2, because he was never big in Galaxy 1. Galaxy 2 released in May of 2010.
No mentioning of making Bowser’s fire breath rely on the touch screen in the remake? Oh right, we aren’t at THAT Giant Battle yet.
No...I never had problems with the mic controls...
@ I have. Against the Fawful Express.
I feel like the remake hate is too harsh. You gotta give it credit for removing the mic stuff.
Here we finally are this worm was my worst nightmare as a kid I spent hours trying to beat this thing
9:49 Anyone else imagine Toadbert having a Tom Kenny-esque voice?
So on the SpongeBob side or Simon side of sounding nerdy. Because both work extremely well.
@@infinityheart_tm9270 Either or. Both sound fitting.
@@infinityheart_tm9270 Now that I think about it, a more Simon/Dr. Twobrains voice fits since Toadbert is supposed to be smart.
This the boss that made every kid with asthma drop this game
As someone with asthma as a kid i had to wait for car rides to beat those fights
@@TLR_Eden why ?if not mind telling i got curiousn
@@gabrielcalderon6715 Roll the window down on a moving car causes the microphone to pick up a TON of noise. Infinite breath.
It was a later giant battle
This was my most wanted game as a kid I would have literally gave my soul to ANY demon to get it and it still is one of my most wanted games even now but I’m out of luck unless it’s on switch or comes to switch
They'd probably port the 3ds version and not the original
If only there was a way to okay it on a PC. For free....
Butt jokes aside, making the adrenal gland into a River Styx-type affair to save someone from the brink of death is kind of brilliant.
Bowser can turn giant with items, he can turn giant with magic
and he can even turn giant genetically, WITH HIS' ASS!
Giant battles are the highlight of this game for me. As a kid who loved kaiju films, getting to control a giant Bowser to fight giant enemies was so fun. The battles made you feel so powerful! There is one coming later that I disliked, but this was one of the biggest highlights of this game.
Bowser: _turns into a giant_
GameFreak: "Write that down, write that down!"
(who knew Gigantamaxing involved having a lot of globin?)
Because every time GameFreak does something cool. It’s because they got it from somewhere else.
@@infinityheart_tm9270 To be fair, _"there is nothing new in paradox space"._ Everyone's hot new idea is just a remix of several someone elses' ideas, true originality does not, and humanly _cannot,_ exist.
I mean, to be fair, the Scutlet _did_ eat her...
Now that I think about it, I wonder why Durmite is the first X boss and not Scutlet
@@Shantae1188 Probably the same reason why Dreamy Mario wasn’t the first X boss in Dream Team, the attacks in those fights are very simple so it would be difficult to make those boss fights challenging without giving them new attacks.
@ I mean, you can use your later weapons against those bosses
And now we arrive at one of my favourite parts of the game and honestly one of the best uses of the dual screens of any DS game in my opinion
Even though one of these fights is going to cause me PTSD later
*Choo choo*
Yup, I know the pain. The 3DS remake removes one troubling aspect of that fight, but in its place it adds gyro controls like for the boss fights in Dream Team.
I didn't really have a problem with the gyro controls in Dream Team.
*except with that bloody bird*
@@WarmLusamine Could just be because my 3DS is very old and has been dropped a lot, so the gyro controls don't work as well as they might on a better preserved 3DS.
I never had a problem with my mic in the giant battles, I rather have the mic than the gyro controls in Dream Team
@@andrewvanover9747 I hate it. I absolutely hate it. I have legitimately gotten lightheaded from using the mic for flame breath for that boss. And I never have any idea if it’s a problem with the microphone not registering or if I’m doing something wrong.
As a kid who couldn't properly read english, I thought the Rump Command was Bowser's crotch. This I somehow equated to reviving him by empowering his sheer manliness.
I hated the Dermite boss fight so much. The extra little enemies, they kept on healing, the fight just took forever and drained resources like mad.
Aw man the first episode of Attack on Bowser
22:24 Here we go, the moment you've all been waiting for!!
GIANT BOWSER IS HERE!!!
0:09 this scream is SO GOOD love it
2:43 That says Sidling.
I never noticed that it didn’t say sliding. I wonder if it was a typo. Really weird choice of word if it was intentional.
@@hyperdrive282sidle is used in a lot of Nintendo games, one that comes to mind immediately is in WindWaker when you have to sidle on the ledges
@@hyperdrive282 Nah, given the definition it actually fits better than sliding tbh, read that definition again
"Don't turn around in our driveway"
You know what? I'm gonna turn around in your driveway even harder!!
I'd drive in their yard at that point.
_does a 3-point turn 100% perfectly_
If they had a dirt driveway, I'd go the extra mile and write "FUCK" in the dirt.
You guys are doing the internet equivalent of finishing an argument in the shower.
22:30 Say it with me everyone:
“Make my monster…GROOOOOOOOOW!!!!”
So Emile, you forgot to go over the name of the white blood cell enemies in Durmite's fight. They're called Biffidus.
(0:05) Best start to *ANY* Chuggaa video.
2:21 FRONT FACING MARIO & LUIGI!
LET'S GOOOOOOO!!! So excited for this and I have NO IDEA what to expect!!
Your Midbus voice is very different compared to the voice I gave him when I played this game. Most of you would probably bust out laughing if you heard how I imagined Midbus to sound like.
Can't be funnier than the voices Fawful and Midbus had in A Day with Bowser Jr. Jamaican Fawful lives in my head rent free.
YEA BABY FINALLY EARLY TO A CHUGGA VIDEO
2:42 SIDLING!!!! I never noticed that before!!
Dont you just LOVE when someone just chucks a whole castle at you. TOTALLY happens to me like every Thursday :P
Yeah. I will defend it too. As well as Spirit Tracks.
It was truly a jaw dropping moment as a kid to see Bowser go giant
That scream though 😂
Attack on Titan reference.
Nice i literally just finished the last one, watching it while playing brothership and stuff :)
Same
Upload after upload is amazing chugga,we love ya
I'm so glad you're still doing well. I had a feeling of nostalgia and found your channel again. I remember watching your mario/Luigi galaxy videos when I was about 12, and didn't have any systems. Thanks for helping me enjoy classic games as a kid.
Already time for our first giant bowser fight!!!
At last. The Kaiju Mode. I love these fights, and I'm glad they brought them back in a way for Dream Team.
26:38 I'm sorry, how's BOWSER the coward when YOU'RE the one who ran away?
I was also wondering that same thing.
I love it when DS games make good use of both screens simultaneously and include all the console functions into gameplay. Some of my favorite ds games did this. But this is the first time ive seen the console held sideways for a big screen battle. Thats so creative and cool! This sequence alone just increased my opinion of this game
