    Man, good for him, with his high-end matching gear. You know most of us first-timers come in with some mismatched brown gloves borrowed from your friend's dad who used to box back in the Navy during like the Korean war or some shit, you got your mouthguard they gave you in JV soccer, wraps too short 'cause you bought the ones for teens by accident and lost the receipt, headgear may or may not be from a Halloween costume
    of the Master Chief from Halo...

    solid video mate. i'd never use any club gear. i recommend saving up and buying quality equipment and if you find boxing isn't for you, i mean hell, you at least kept yourself protected and you can still use it for fitness purposes. i feel the head gear is a mixed bag though as aiba done away with it due to them causing more head trauma than those without it. lite sparring and body only sparring are good ways to train that are really just as effective as having a full spar. but, if you are a full spar only bloke, or even a lite spar or you just want to preserve that beautiful mug... head gear has it's uses. especially if you're a beginner and haven't developed proper guard. always have a good groin piece and gum shield.

    If you need a mouth guard, just go to your dentist. Here in Canada my dentist will mold and construct your mouth guard exactly to your teeth for free. They will also have an array of colors for you to choose from. Definite go to your dentist so it sucks to your tooth and will not hurt.

    Two cheap gloves are better deal than one premium glove : buy rdx gel or lonsdale x-lite gloves for bagwork (not effective gloves but good protection and very solid foam + leather) and for sparring : cheap adidas gloves (if you're a beginer you will not overuse them on your sparring partner's face, so no need perfect hand protection and solid leather)
    THE MOST important thing are long handwraps, and to be able to wear the properly

    • @Fit2Box
      @Fit2Box  4 года назад +1

      Luk Phom you could use more of the handwrap around the wrist (not to tight) and perhaps reduce power with that hand when on the bag you will need to do this for a decent period of time to see if the wrist heals - I suspect total rest of the wrist (no bag work with that hand) may be good if frustrating option

    The motorcycle helmet analogy is a bit off. The $30 helmet is just as protective as the $300 helmet. All helmets have to pass through stringent CE testing to be allowed on the market. The difference in helmet price is comfort, wind noise, ventilation, design etc. Not safety. However in boxing headgear, you usually get what you pay for in protection. One caveat, the cheapest protection is the best, defense.

      It's not $1000 to start boxing he never said you need to spend that much. It's
      $60 Cheap everlast gloves
      $10 wraps
      $15 mouthguard
      $120 headgear
      The last 2 are optional so really it's only about 70 bucks to start boxing
