      @@F1rstWorldNomaD Just me, but I would definitely put it up there: tight, rich script that understands the time it's living in and pays tribute to the several escapees and refugees from Europe who are in this movie; layered, flawed characters who invite argument and discussion from us, and all played by gifted actors; humor as well as drama; Dooley Wilson in a rare 1940s depiction of an intelligent and creative man of color; and, of course, the music.

    Casablanca… it’s not a question of should but must. It’s on the top list of any film buffs list of all time greats. A delightful romance set in a crazy time with two of the biggest stars of their time: Ingrid Bergman and Humphrey Bogart. "MiB II" is also worth watching. Not better than the first but still worth a reaction (and good laughs). There are LOADS of sci-fi comedies, quite a few you have already reacted to in the past. Here are my suggestions: 1) "Time Bandits" (1981); 2) "Weird Science "(1985); 3) "Re-Animator" (1985); 4) "Short Circuit" (1986 - plus it's sequel); 5) "They Live" (1988); 6) "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" (1991 - sequel); 7) the "Evil Dead" trilogy; 8) "Mars Attacks!" (1996); 9) "Starship Troopers" (1997) and 10) "Earth Girls Are Easy" (1989 - with Jeff Goldblum). Enjoy!

      @@jenmurrayxo Understood! There are just too many movies, TV shows, and series to follow them all. I think stories about the criminal justice system are in my family's blood: my grandad loved detective/crime magazines, my dad loved Perry Mason, and my sister loved Law & Order. My other grandad and an uncle were NYC cops. So I watched L&O and skipped Friends! ;-) (Trivia time: coincidentally there was a TV Western named 'Alias Smith and Jones' in the early 1970s.)

    @teutonic1160 2 года назад +4

    Definitely agree you should react to the 1942 film "Casablanca". Superb script, and great acting by the late great Humphrey Bogart and the legendary Ingrid Bergman. WWll was in full swing in 1942, and at the time no one was sure which side would win. This real world uncertainty bleeds through and adds to the films angst and tension. Really, the only questions are should sis watch it with you, and how soon can you get to it.

    - It got two movie sequels, 2 is bad and 3 is okay. We don't talk about MiB: Invernational.
    - The film is very different (better) from the Marvel comic short run. In the comics the MiB also handled supernatural things (vampires, werewolves etc.)
    - The cartoon show based on the movie (MiB: The Series) is great and deserves more attention

    "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky..." Love this quote because it is extremely accurate, and I paraphrase it a lot!
    Not Tommy as the lead, but 2 movies that pop to mind are Under Siege 1 (probably Steven Segall's best movie ... and considering he's an epic douche bag, it puts him in a decent action star light) and No Country for Old Men
    One where he is the lead, is Volcano. I don't remember too much about it, but I did enjoy it when I first saw it. That was a long time ago though... and I do remember there being a broken sound in the edit that's kept in the movie.
    Scifi comedy, first thing that comes to mind is Mel Brooke's spoof, Spaceballs. A movie I loved to death...literally! The VHS my dad had it on met its demise from me rewatching it way too much

    As others have already mentioned about Danny Elfman being from Oingo Boingo, not many reactors know that considering Oingo were popular in the early 1980's when I was in my mid-teens. Though nothing to do with the movie, other bands in early 80's were Flock Of Seagulls and The Fixx were two that I was into. Of course that was before I found Skinny Puppy in 1985!
