Exellent, creative. A complicated process clearly explained with the logic what, how and why. All the other talking heads on RUclips should learn from this.
Thanks for your amazing kind words and great feedback! I’m gonna rewatch it myself now so I can see what I did right here to improve my current videos. Cheers! 🙌
Thanks buddy for your amazingly kind words! Awesome that you just started using Affinity Photo and I'm very honored to having you here on the channel 👊🏼 I hope to show you a tonne more!
That was simply amazing how you changed a summer photo into a cold, snowy, winter scene. I really learned a lot. I am sure there are many followers who enjoy all your videos and courses as much as I do and would like to buy you a cup of coffee to show you our appreciation, do you have any means for that? I bought your particles and fireworks brush set and looking forward to using them.
Hey @Eddie Cool, thanks a lot as always for your kind words and your support ! I'm considering creating a Patreon account soon, but I want to make sure I've got some cool things to offer my future Patrons. So once that's up and running I'll surely let you and the rest of the community know! Your support will be used to upgrade my future content and products! :)
@@IAMRENSI It actually bottomed out at -51 for 2 days. Live in Northern Canada (Edmonton Alberta area). We were stuck in a Polar Vortex for two weeks. When the news reports the Artic Circle was warmer - ya have to wonder "What the hell". Lol. Spring is coming. It was -15 today so that is near tropical. Ha ha
Nice. I have almost done same way but some new things in Affinity Photo. Fill layers and flakes. I have tried same in videoeditor Resolve too, but now I would test using that desaturate first and fill white but bring some dark colours.
Hey Pow ny! I found this particular image on Unsplash, so it's a jpg ! Honestly I'm currently 99% of the time working with stock images (jpgs) :) Once the world gets out of lockdown and allows traveling again, I'll hit the roads and start shooting in RAW. Hope this helps! If you have questions, let me know :)
Hey ! Thanks 😊 Ah in that case, you might have a BnW layer on top of the saturation layer ? It’s hard for me to understand what’s going on since I don’t have any context. But I hope this helps ! Merry X-Mas anyways !! 🎄💫
awesome tutorial! for me the only problem I've been having that if I want to add the snow to the roof (so want to add the white filling to the selection I made) it doesn't do anything for me :( does anyone have a suggestion for me?
Thanks Fleur ! Unfortunately It’s pretty hard for me to figure out where it went wrong.. Make sure to double check the position of the fill layer in the layers panel! :)
Hi I bought your fireworks brushes and every time I try to use the brush tool the fire works comes up and I cant get rid if It ... I even remvoved the brushes and Im still getting it... How do I get rid of it ....
Hey Elise, first of all thanks a lot for purchasing the Firework brushes! It's the first time I'm hearing about a problem like this. Affinity remembers the last brush you've used when you switch back to the brush tool. So a way to solve it is by selecting another brush in the Brush Panel (view > studio > brushes). For example, when I'm not using custom brushes I select a large soft round brush as "default" brush, which can be found in the 'Basic Brushes' category. I hope this helps!
Thanks for your kind words ! No problem, I too was once a beginner to all this :) You can simply re-install the Firework brushes the way you installed them the first time ! The instructions are inside of the Creative With Firework “course” (your purchase that included the brush pack and tutorials) that you should be able to find in your email! Hope this solves your problem ! For future troubleshooting email to support@iamrensi.com :)
I'm stuck on part of this tutorial. I get the black and white adjustment layer lined up the same way. But when I switch to the channel tab and right-click on any of the channels and select "load to pixel selection", it's not doing the same thing. When I add the fill layer, it just turns the image almost into a grayscale and washes out almost all the rest of the colors.
Dank je wel, Rensi, dit is precies wat ik zocht. Jouw duidelijke uitleg is zoals altijd heel fijn.
This is a brilliant tutorial, thank you. Not too fast so beginners like me can follow without getting confused.
Awesome, happy to hear that you could easily follow it! 🙌🏼

Too much fun. Thanks.
Love this tutorial, cabin in the snow, your snowboarding adventure and the music. Well put together.
Hey @Claude Fiset, I wasn't sure about using snowboard footage, but I'm glad it turned out well! Thanks buddy :)
Great talent - in Affinity AND on the snow.
@David Reams It's probably be more passion than talent.. 😅 Anyways, doesn't matter. Love doing both! Thanks for watching!
Very cool stuff Rensi!!! I just found you today, so I am your newest subscriber! Let's see what you have in the "library"!

Awesome, Carlos - glad you enjoyed the tutorial! 👌🏽
Rensjeeee
Leuke vid
Ga het proberen🤙🏽🤙🏽
Timoooo! Thanks man, haha. Long time no speak. Gebruik je ook Affinity Photo?
Great video. What's crazy is it currently -41 degrees Celsius outside right now. I will do this in about a month ounce everything un-freezes.
Wow, -41 Celsius?! That’s ridiculously cold. Where do you live ? Then indeed it might be more rewarding to try the effect once winter is over :)

Wow!!!
Hi its ok Ive down loaded the fireworks brush and all is good thanks
Awesome, that’s the way to go. I’m happy to help :)

Thanks ! When it’s winter obviously not everything is b&w, so that’s the reason I added back some green tones to the shadows :) Have fun trying 😊
Thank you I am a complete novice but followed this pretty well
You’re welcome Susan ! Nice to hear that you as beginners can also follow along !
Nice
Thanks JB ATL! Glad you enjoyed :)
Hey Rensi :)
is this a raw pic you are working with?
Best regards!

Love the tutorial but when I select the desaturated level to get color again, nothing happens and all the levels remain BnW. how do you make it?

I have the same issue
This method does not work for Affinity Photo 2.
"Watch out where the huskies go..."
Well I watch where the huskies go……
Really helpful! Thanks for this.
