According to his character bio on the website, the reason Jean-Luc can speak English at the end was he learned it in hopes of reuniting with Bluey again someday.
@@mechasaurus I've got a WIP one on hiatus, but either way, I'm pretty sure the language barrier wouldn't be that much of an issue since Bandit actually knows French and Chili at least understands it.
Fun Fact: Each frame of the tree growing represents a year so using that as a measure of time about 10 years pass meaning Bluey and Jean Luc are around 16 at the end.
Jean-Luc is a French-speaking Canadian Black Labrador, most likely from Quebec, which may explain why Jean-Luc seems to understand Bluey much better than her, since Canada speaks two languages: French and English, meaning Jean-Luc should have a little knowledge of English. By the end of the episode (around 10 years in the future), he already speaks English. Also... in the French dub, Jean-Luc is called Johnny and speaks English instead.
8:27 This whole rest of the episode pulls on the heartstrings in all the best ways! I could actually understand some of what Jean Luc was saying he wouldn't see her tomorrow. Up til this point in thebseries I had shipped MacKenzie and Bluey when they got older. But this episode solidified for me that Bluey and Jean Luc are perfect together. Moving forward they have to be super careful how they bring Jean Luc back, if at all. They cannot meet again until the moment at the end of this episode. So we either have to have tiny flash forwards, or wait til we are at the point in the series that Bluey is that old. Otherwise, they should leave Jean Luc out. To preserve the absolute brilliance that is season 1 episode 43 "Camping." This episode makes me cry every time! It's insane! I love it so much!
11:53 Oh my god did we legit just get a timeskip for this episode?? THAT IS SO COOL And then they end it there? Dude that's gotta be like one of my favorite Bluey episodes ever...I love that. Also I lowkey ship John-Luc and Bluey
@@valentine7024 Probably a rumour, but I like the idea. They clicked so nicely with language barrier and bonded so quickly. He learned english in hopes of seeing her again TT
It was nice seeing this episode, since I've been learning French, and I could actually understand what he's saying. That's how I knew in beforehand that Jean-Luc would leave, since at 6:49 he says "it's our last chance".
One time i met a girl at a McDonald's while my family and I were moving. We moved via car so we were on the road. She and I got along famously. A couple years later she was in my class in a totally different state. She and I couldn't get over how awesome that was. She was later homeschooled but we kept in touch until I went to college. The world os wild sometimes.
Okay so let me get this straight at the end of this episode bluey is a teenager but at the end of the final episode of the series Surprise she's a full grown adult yeah that makes total sense

I'm sobbing my eyes out at this
It felt like it! So sweet!! They reunited again!!

Fun fact: in the french version of this episode jean-luc speaks english
And his name is changed to Johnny.
I watched the french version and you were right!
It’s almost more devastating with the words spoken. So many emotions.
WAIT? FR? LOL 😭

Agreed. This episode proves that languages don't prevent friendships and that goodbye is only a word. And yes. I do like Jean-Luc and Bluey together
Most people ship Bluey and Mackenzie and some people including myself ship Bluey and Jean-Luc.
They’re toddlers
Then you & some folk are going to be disappointed when the episode "Surprise" gets released......
@@keshiaanders6452 According to the episode's trivia section on the show's wiki, Mackenzie and Jean-Luc are the most likely candidates.

You probably won't like the timeskip epilog in the upcoming episode, "Surprise."

It’s called a “flash forward”.
@@kylestubbs8867 I normally don't care for those kinda episodes because of their overuse in The Simpsons, but Bluey makes it work for me.
