Great video! I just finished editing a similar video based on our visit to Montenegro about a year ago (the video will go live on May 1). We are in agreement about the pros and cons. I mentioned your channel in our video because we have found your videos to be so helpful. We made our home base in Turkey about two years ago and your videos about Turkey have been especially beneficial to us. Thank you!

Pros -groceries are affortable. - Montenegro is a beautiful country and there are many nice beaches - people are so sweet, especially when we speak to them in montenegrin. They love it. Con - driving here can be challenging. People seem impatient when it comes to driving. - opening a bank account here can be a mission impossible. - dealing with the bureaucracy here can be very complicated and can drive you crazy. - the winter months here can be depressing because of a lot of rain and windy. - the montenegrin language is very challenging for us and we try to work on it.
Thanks for sharing the real day-to-day challenges you face living in Montenegro. You're being transparent and honest snd not showing and telling us about the beauty and scenery of this beautiful country. I really appreciate your videos. I will continue following you and maybe in contact with you soon. As a Canadian, I'm looking for a European country to reside as an expat retiree. I am looking forward to your videos. I think you could do the same in Greece. I went to Jumbo here and bought the child stroller. It was perfect because it has a nice buckle system. I then looked around the store for a little basket that could fit in the buckles. Bingo I had a stroller:) I bought the larger pet blankets they have and cushioned it. I use a leash and wrap it on one of the handles and strap her in by connecting the leash to her collar.
Great information guys even though we aren't thinking of living here. We are thinking of spending a period of time there especially as we will need to do the Schengen shuffle on our more extended trip in 2026. Like you we will have our own transport & after seeing some of those roads I'm thinking that being on a motorcycle like we are is going to be easier 😊 some great roads. Thank you for the clear & comprehensive info ... 👍
Thank you for your kind words! We're glad our info could assist you in planning your trip. Have an amazing time on the roads! I am not sure I would feel more comfortable on a motorcycle, lol. It might be a bit easier to get around in the tight spaces:) Thanks for watching.
Loved the content but could you explain a little more about the $1.00 per day tourist tax? So when I go to the tourist registration office, do I pay for the entire 90 day stay up front? OR do I need to pay on a weekly basis? Monthly basis? Does this cover you for the entire country? OR if I am staying in different locations, do I pay that tax in that specific location I am staying at? Is there a government web site that shows each location? Thank you😊
If you’re not in a hotel, find the nearest tourist office the first 24 hours. The rate is €1 per day in most tourist areas but can be as low as €.70 in Ulcnj. Under age 12 is free and 12-18 half price. You can choose to pay the entire amount for your expected stay at one time. Search Google maps for your best location.
I spent 3 months in the Fall of 2021 in Petrovac. The hotel owner told me that he did not collect or pay the tourists tax. When I left for Serbia by private car I had the euros ready to pay at the border but was never asked about it. I felt like James Bond for a few moments.
We have had similar experiences, but it really just depends on the border guard for the day. It’s a bit of a gamble. I hope you enjoyed Petrovac. Thanks for watching!

There are countries that will pay you to move there, this is true.
