I studied the Bible in the Baptist Church and because of that the Catholic traditions made PERFECT sense to me as the whole truth. So. The opposite of what he said. And explains why Catholics who have studied are the ones who do NOT leave.

I think they leave because they don’t know it. They never dove deep into apologetics and learning WHY we believe what we do. Now, there are some who are leaving the church who are really just leave religion in general who probably “hate it” because they hate any belief system. But as for Catholics who become Protestant? I’m telling you, it’s mostly nominal Catholics who didn’t really study the faith. I’m just telling you from experience if you do the whole thing makes sense. So if you understand the whole picture of Christianity in Catholicism why would you leave that for a half truth in the Protestant Church? I’ll use the Eucharist for example. If you’ve studied and you know we have good reasons to believe Jesus comes to us to be our spiritual food in Holy Communion, and that all early Christians understood this and believed it, why in the world would you leave and go where communion is symbolic?

Catholics believe we are saved by grace through faith. Where works enter the equation is that we are expected to not only accept the free gift of faith, which cannot be earned and is bestowed by the grace of God, but also *work* to maintain our life in that grace. We are expected to do good works in order to maintain our faith, but we do not believe that any amount of good works can *earn* saving faith.
In other words, we cooperate with the grace we are given by God for our salvation.

This is laughable. I can point to many people in every century since 33 AD that were Catholic. They believed in regenerative baptism, the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, a hierarchical Church with the bishop of Rome as the head. When I was a Baptist I couldn’t find anyone that resembled my beliefs until the 16th century. The Bible is a Catholic book. We canonized it in the Councils of Rome, Carthage and Hippo. I don’t need anyone in this world to tell me that I’m a Christian.

One thing that a lot of Protestants do not know about is that in 1999, the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutheran World Federation signed a joint document stating that salvation is by grace through faith. What Catholics need to realize about Protestants is that they do not believe that you get saved by saying a prayer. What Protestants need to realize about Catholics is that they do not believe you can work your way into heaven.

I have never been so distressed by anything as hearing that Catholics are not considered Christians!!! WHAT??? As a child, I atteneded the Baptist church with my family, but honestly, never felt 'at home.' There was always a preacher yelling and pounding his fist on the podium, preaching hellfire and damnation, which, as a child scared me to death!
After I started dating my husband, when I was 18, who was a Catholic, I began attending Mass with him. From the first time I walked into the Catholic Church, I felt a sense of peace, like I belonged. There was a quiet reverence, not like a social gathering in the Baptist church. On the altar, at the front and center of the church, there was Jesus, hanging on the Cross. There was no question as to why you were there. The Baptist church either had a choir or a baptismal.
Christ is THE center of the church. HE is the only one I worship. Yes, we hold Mary in high esteem because God chose her as the mother of His Son Jesus, but I have never 'worshipped' her or any saint...never have and never will. My faith grew stronger and I was actually 'saved' after becoming a Catholic! So, anyone says that we're not Christian had better get their facts straight! Besides, the Catholic Church was the first Church. All protestant religions broke off of the Catholic church because they thought 'their' way was better!

Linda, Actually, I was you in reverse. I was actually away from the Church for many years (40+). I returned about 7 Years ago. Long story. I'm not saying that it was all bad...when I was away from the Church. I attended a small Non-Denominational Christian Church for about a year. A friend of mine is not Catholic. She believed a lot of the lies that were spread about the Catholic Church. Slowly, she has come to understand the Church and now defends it when she hears lies, such as the lie that "Catholics don't read the Bible.".....She knows better now. You have probably heard it said that the weak Catholics leave the Church....The Non-Catholics Churches get the weak Catholics. The Catholic Church gets the strong Christian Non-Catholics. That does seem to ring true. I was weak. Yet, I made a point of learning a lot about the Catholic Church. Thanks for your defending the Catholic Faith!!

@Sheist MCE Who is OP? HOW did she prove that Catholics don't read the Bible? Also, images are not forbidden in scripture. You really should read beyond the Verses in Exodus, the verses that forbid graven images. Later, it shows us how images of God can be made. I do know that there is a Verse in Deuteronomy, which explains why representations of God cannot be made. I'll have to look up the Verse. Later, it does show us that images of God can be made. The Verses in Exodus, that forbade the creation of graven images, is about the pagans. The pagans used to create images of things such as animals, like eagles and bulls, etc, and other created images such as the sun and the moon. The pagans created those images and worshipped them. God did not want His people to act like the pagans. He knew that they would be tempted to act like the pagans. He knew their sinful nature. He knew that they would do that very thing with the Bronze Serpent, also known as the fiery serpent. Again, there are verses beyond the verses in Exodus, that do show us that images of God can be made. I am not talking about the verses that tell us of Moses and the Bronze Serpent. Let me know, I can explain it.

      @bensommer344 4 года назад +1

@David Israel I left it at "pls be charitable" and decided to disengage, since I didn't detect an openness on your part to dialogue. But sure, I'll respond one more time.
Charity, per the catechism is: "The divine virtue by which we love God above all things for His own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God". Its embedded in many prayers & traces clearly back to NT scripture. Caritas (latin) & Agapē (greek) are often interchangeable, and translated as "Love" and "Charity", e.g. in KJB, Douay-Rheims etc.
As to confused or diabolical or stupid priests...I'll one-up you: perhaps the majority of bishops in the west are thoroughly corrupt or cowardly. Men are often (and usually these days) wicked. But if you intend to offer that as evidence that the Church is the false one, then that's kinda an ad-hominem attack. Its also an ancient heresy (Donatism) to assert that church teaching and sacraments are invalid if not governed & performed by saints. Good luck finding any human institution that isn't rife with corruption. Many leave the catholic church because of its members' corruption, mistakenly believing that if only they can find a home with good people, then THAT'S the church God intended. This is one reason why protestant denominations proliferate: "Pastor Jim is teaching wrong, let's go start a new church"
Lastly - your violent bent...I get the passion. We ARE the Church Militant - the body of living humans struggling on earth to achieve salvation and heaven. The saints in Heaven are the Church Triumphant. So - militancy is a way of life for us earnest believers. And though there's a valid approach to worldly, physical conflict ("just war") - the true militancy we in the church are called to is a spiritual one. Mentioning in two consecutive youtube comments that you'd like to kill or punch someone out doesn't show to me that you think or act from christ-centered, righteous indignation

Not all Christians understand that the Church established by Jesus Christ was the Catholic Church. Some are of the remarkable belief that there was no "Church" and that the early Christians all just got baptized, read the Bible, and prayed together, and were "saved."
Jesus Christ established the Catholic Church and commissioned the Apostle Peter as the person responsible for it after his Ascension. (Matthew 16:16-20). And we know Peter was recognized as such and that he fulfilled this role. (Mk 1:36; Lk 9:28,32; Acts 2:37; Acts 3:6-12; Acts 9:40; Acts 20:28; 1 Cor 15:4-8; 1 Cor 9:5; 1 Pet 5:2; . . . among a great many others.)

@Asaph Vapor Peter is the Rock on which the Church is Built
Mark 3:16; John 1:42 - Jesus renames Simon “Kepha” in Aramaic which literally means “rock.” This was an extraordinary thing for Jesus to do, because “rock” was not even a name in Jesus’ time. Jesus did this, not to give Simon a strange name, but to identify his new status among the apostles. When God changes a person’s name, He changes their status.
Gen. 17:5; 32:28; 2 Kings 23:34; Acts 9:4; 13:9 - for example, in these verses, we see that God changes the following people’s names and, as a result, they become special agents of God: Abram to Abraham; Jacob to Israel, Eliakim to Jehoiakim, Saul to Paul.
2 Sam. 22:2-3, 32, 47; 23:3; Psalm 18:2,31,46; 19:4; 28:1; 42:9; 62:2,6,7; 89:26; 94:22; 144:1-2 - in these verses, God is also called “rock.” Hence, from these verses, non-Catholics often argue that God, and not Peter, is the rock that Jesus is referring to in Matt. 16:18. This argument not only ignores the plain meaning of the applicable texts, but also assumes words used in Scripture can only have one meaning. This, of course, is not true. For example:
1 Cor. 3:11 - Jesus is called the only foundation of the Church, and yet in Eph. 2:20, the apostles are called the foundation of the Church. Similarly, in 1 Peter 2:25, Jesus is called the Shepherd of the flock, but in Acts 20:28, the apostles are called the shepherds of the flock. These verses show that there are multiple metaphors for the Church, and that words used by the inspired writers of Scripture can have various meanings. Catholics agree that God is the rock of the Church, but this does not mean He cannot confer this distinction upon Peter as well, to facilitate the unity He desires for the Church.
Matt. 16:18 - Jesus said in Aramaic, you are “Kepha” and on this “Kepha” I will build my Church. In Aramaic, “kepha” means a massive stone, and “evna” means little pebble. Some non-Catholics argue that, because the Greek word for rock is “petra”, that “Petros” actually means “a small rock”, and therefore Jesus was attempting to diminish Peter right after blessing him by calling him a small rock. Not only is this nonsensical in the context of Jesus’ blessing of Peter, Jesus was speaking Aramaic and used “Kepha,” not “evna.” Using Petros to translate Kepha was done simply to reflect the masculine noun of Peter.
Moreover, if the translator wanted to identify Peter as the “small rock,” he would have used “lithos” which means a little pebble in Greek. Also, Petros and petra were synonyms at the time the Gospel was written, so any attempt to distinguish the two words is inconsequential. Thus, Jesus called Peter the massive rock, not the little pebble, on which He would build the Church. (You don’t even need Matt. 16:18 to prove Peter is the rock because Jesus renamed Simon “rock” in Mark 3:16 and John 1:42!) Christ appoints Peter the first pope and the Gates of hell will not prevail against it

Simply, Rome from which RCC came about was a kind of political/military power at the time of Christ and when they could not suppress Christianity adopted the policy of dilution instead by trying to mix paganism to it. The result of which remained RCC of today. However, God has been preserving/shielding the body of Christ from corruption. The elephant in the room is the fact that for 1500 years the Christian church was catholic. So according to this line of thinking there were Christian’s at the time of Jesus and then they disappeared for a while and then popped back up with Luther. Either that or their were invincibly ignorant Catholics. But why would the Holy Spirit not guide the church into true doctrine for so long? Especially to the extent this man is talking about. He’s basically saying for most of church history a majority of Christian’s were actually damned because they didn’t believe in doctrines that didn’t even exist yet like scripture alone or faith alone.

    • @suavemario2918
      @suavemario2918 6 лет назад

      TL;DR: Yes, yes they are
Christianity is eternal. It is not a religion that just came up after the year 33 AD, it's always been here. As long as we know that God is eternal, then a faith in him and his existence must also be. So no, it wasn't founded by Christ's apostles. You built your case on a fallacy, but for the sake of clarification, let's go with it. The Catholic Church isn't the apostles or the only church that came from the apostles. They were the messengers to Christ's teachings, and they didn't all go to Rome. Moreover, contrary to common belief, the Catholic Church was not always around. At all. When we were first called Christians in Antioch, there was no Catholic or Orthodox Church. In fact, it was around 500 years later that there was a Catholic Church. In the year 451 AD, a council was held in Chalcedon to dispute a certain heresy that had arisen. After the council, the Egyptian and some other churches disagreed with the decision, and became the non-Chalcedonians. We later became the Orthodox Churches. The Chalcedonians, who are now the Catholics (and who the Protestants eventually came from) agreed with the decision. Moreover, Jesus clearly stated that we need Baptism to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. He never mentioned a specific type of Baptism, nor did he ever mention a Baptism into a certain sect of Christianity (as he certainly knew the Church would divide). Therefore, all Baptized are Christians, regardless of what they believe, or what Church they belong to. If you have any thoughts or arguments, please go ahead and tell me. At the end, one of us will walk away knowing more than they did.
Also sorry for the wall of text lol.

Some accept the idea of ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED, OSAS, as it is sometimes called. OSAS is right from Satan. A person's beliefs matter. I am sure that you are aware of that. I am Catholic. I often defend the faith. Not all Catholics believe the way that they should. The ones who support abortion, for example....We can't put all Catholics in one group, or all Non-Catholics in one group, saying that they are all the same. We need to look at all as individuals. We do need to care for others, love each other. Yet, again, we need to know a person's beliefs. The early Christians did not go by the idea of going ONLY by the Bible. The New Testament was not available for quite some time. Some of the early Christians met Jesus and heard Him preach. Some heard the gospel of Jesus from the apostles and some of the early Christians, such as Ignatius of Antioch and Polycarp. Since the Catholic Church started....they could not go by the idea of going by BIBLE ALONE. How could they? They went by the Old Testaments, parts of it.....AND by SACRED TRADITION, the words of Jesus Himself!! Jesus gave the apostles the Holy Spirit to guide them and to guide the Church. Do you only look at the Catholic Church, or, do you look at other Churches, too? I can't recall. I do know that there are Verses that some use , to speak against the Catholic Church.....many of those verses should not be used in that way. Again, please give me examples of traditions that you claim exceed scripture, and I will do my best to answer you on that. As a Catholic priest and monk, I appreciate the honesty and the tone of this response. Yes, exactly: one can only be saved by truth and not by error. It must be so since Christ alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Just as Dr Willis thinks some Catholics may have saving faith in Christ and true repentance, so also a Catholic thinks Trinitarian Protestants are indeed Christians and that (if their error and schism are not personally culpable) may indeed be saved. Truth matters. Error leads away from God, away from holiness.
If evangelical Protestants consider me as a Catholic to be in error, then they should bear witness to me, to help me believe the pure gospel. If a Catholic regards Protestantism as having rejected essential truths of Christianity that are necessary for sanctification and whose denial can impede final salvation, then the Catholic should likewise witness to that conviction and help Protestants to enter into Catholic unity. This still allows for ad hoc cooperation on matters of common Christian concern. We shouldn't be shrill or insulting, but we do need to be honest with one another.
Something that does puzzle me is that those who insist that Catholics are not Christian at all (given our understanding of grace and free will) do not typically apply that standard to Arminian evangelicals and to proponents of decisional regeneration and universal atonement. At the same time, most Baptists won't commit themselves to five-point Calvinism as essential doctrine, and many oppose it as damaging to the Christian mission. If that kind of diversity of opinion is accepted among Bible-believing evangelicals, then how can Catholics be non-Christian?

I see an elderly woman standing there with a flat tire with aJack in her hand I pulled up and said you need help and she said I was praying for somebody to come by. There are so many commenters seeming to take delight in pointing out that catholics are not Christian. That is not the way of Christ. True Christians should pray for their brothers and sisters to seek Jesus, not ridicule, judge, and condemn them. As the video points out, Catholics can be Christian and have salvation based on their faith in and acceptance if Jesus, even if they belong to a church that doesnt align with scripture. Many protestants who call themselves Christian show no evidence of faith in Christ and will not have a place in heaven. Which is better? Let's follow Christ's teaching and the apostles' example with converting religious men and women in the 1st century. The apostles didnt condemn but respected the people's devotion, then showed them a more excellent way to salvation through the gospel of Christ alone. That is what we should all be doing whenever and wherever we have opportunity.

Interesting, every time that you open the scriptures, you are reading from a Catholic book, even using the very same New Testament canon as decided by late 4th century Catholics, first Bishops meeting in Rome (382 ad) and then confirmed by Bishops meeting in Hippo (393 ad) and Carthage (397 ad). This list of 27 New Testament writings out of 300+ early Christian writings is not found in scripture. Inconsistently for you, you tacitly trust in their authority to have decided the NT canon - yet your reject their decision on the Old Testament canon when they said it was 46 writings (7 said not be inspired by Father Luther who had no authority 1,100 years later). Inconsistent too, these 4th c Bishops ALL believed that through their words of consecration as priests, the bread and wine transformed into the resurrected Christ.
So this raises many questions for Southern Seminary :
    1. Just HOW does the Holy Spirit work, consistently or inconsistently?
And what did Christ mean when he said :
    2. Christ is the head of his Church. (Col 1: 18)
    3. Christ''s Church is the pillar of truth (1 Tim 3: 15)
    4. Christ's Church is the bulwark of truth. (1 Tim 3: 15)
    5. Christ's Church is where the manifold wisdom of God is made known. (Eph 3: 10)
    6. Christ PROMISED to lead it to ALL Truth. (Jn 16: 13)
    7. Christ PROMISED that he would NEVER leave it. (Mt 28: 20)
    8. Christ PROMISED that the gates of hell would not prevail (it will not teach doctrinal error) ; (Mt 16: 18)
    9. Do you believe Christ was undependable and a liar as he failed repeated above, especially #6 and #8 (I hope not) ?
    10. Do you believe that these 4th c Bishops - ALL Catholics - were pagans? And that you are using a (their) pagan book?

  • @karlwolf9805
    @karlwolf9805 4 года назад +28

The Catholic Church has existed for two thousand years, and the oldest Protestant ones just over 500. These fundamental teachings that you speak of have existed long before any Protestant reforms, and Jesus said of this Catholic Church that he built, "The gates of hell shall not prevail against it." So then how can they be wrong, and how can the altered teachings about salvation and such be right?
Does it really make sense to say that the Catholic Church, handed down from the time of Jesus and the apostles, was the one true church for 1500 years, and then suddenly it was no longer so, and its doctrines became wrong? To think that God's own Church needed human reformers to "correct" its central doctrines is quite blasphemous, if you ask me.

    • @karlwolf9805
      @karlwolf9805 4 года назад +6

@JEROME BURNETT I think you need to know something about the Bible here: it was compiled _by_ the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is not a product of the scriptures like all the Protestant ones are, but rather the Bible is a product of the Catholic Church.
Regarding popes, Peter was quite explicitly given authority by Jesus, who said, "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on Earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on Earth will be loosed in heaven." The other disciples and apostles respected his authority, as we see in the Council at Jerusalem (Acts 15). After Peter, there have always been popes in the Catholic Church in line with the apostolic succession, even in the first century.
Ultimately though, you haven't answered my question, and you actually seem to have reinforced it. You say that the Catholic Church "fell away," but if it did this, then there was nothing in its place. This directly contradicts what Jesus said about his Church.

    • @karlwolf9805
      @karlwolf9805 4 года назад +6

@JEROME BURNETT Again, you didn't answer my comment adequately.
I said that the Catholic Church is not a product of the Bible, but I also said that the Catholic Church _compiled_ this Bible, the same Bible that the Protestant churches claim to be rooted in. So the Catholic Church cannot possibly be one such "cause of division and offenses contrary to the doctrine...," as it literally added this phrase to the collection of God's Word that is the Bible, and it formed/formalized the doctrine mentioned. And it should be noted that the "Catholic Church" is not some massive, faraway institution, but it is the community of Catholic believers under the divine guidance of the One True God.
A second point that comes from this is that the Catholic Church is not a product of the catechism. First of all, this is absurd, because the first official, written catechism where Catholic doctrine could be summed up was created over a thousand years after the birth of the Church with Peter and the apostles at Pentecost. Second of all, as I said, the Catholic Church is the community of believers, guided by God through his chosen leaders (apostolic succession gives us the popes), and it is, as St. Paul says, the "mystical Body of Christ" -- NOT the sum of a set of beliefs.
Finally, I would ask you, what church, if not the Catholic Church, is then the true Church, as founded by Jesus Christ? As I said in my initial comment, it doesn't make sense to say that it is any of the Protestant ones. As for a "non-denominational" community, where does Peter's role as first pope, or the role of the Sacraments, come in? Where is God's visible presence and guidance? It truly does not make sense any other way.

George Penton that whole discourse is predicated in our acceptance of Christ as our Savior. Those virtues by themselves don’t get is to heaven, but a reflection of Christ in us. Works based Gotta read Trent, brother, “ “If anyone says that man can be justified before God by his own works, whether done by his own natural powers or by the teaching of the Law, without divine grace through Jesus Christ, let him be anathema” (Session 6; can. 1).

    • @georgepenton808
      @georgepenton808 5 лет назад +4

I think we are in agreement, Andrew. The Church teaches that faith without works is dead but she also teaches that works without faith is dead. Where Catholics and Protestants differ is that Catholics believe that faith is just the beginning whereas Protestants think that faith is all we need. Catholics see salvation as a process. Protestants think salvation is a one time event where they have an emotional experience after giving their hearts to Jesus at a revival meeting. There is nothing wrong with giving your heart to Jesus, of course, but salvation is a lot more than that. If a Protestant gives his heart to Jesus but goes back to his sins, like a lot of them do, he won't go to Heaven. Worse, if he thinks his salvation experience gives him a license to sin---and many think just that---he will not go to Heaven.

Luther spotted some lapses in the Catholic Church? He needed to look at himself first, to do as Jesus said....Before he judged others, he needed to remove the log from his own eye before he tried to remove the speck from others eyes....At least the Catholic Church didn't/doesn't call Jesus an adulterer and a fornicator. Luther did. Luther said that he was sure that Jesus had sex with the woman at the well. Luther also approved of adultery between husbands and wives. For husbands having problems in their marriages, his advise was 'There is always the maid." He said that he could fornicate 1,000 times a day and still be justified. He said that our Consciences are of the devil...he said that we should go and do just the opposite of what our consciences tell us. He also was known as being quite Anti-Semetic. At first, he was kind to the Jews. When he could not get them to convert, he came out and said that they should lose their rights....and have their homes and synagogues destroyed. He was actually praised in a book written by Heimlich Himmler of the Third Reich. HE notices lapses in the Catholic Church? Wow. He sure didn't look at himself, did he? He needed to.

If you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, you try your very best to follow his teachings and don't have hate in your heart you are a Christian regardless of whether you're Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox or whatever. I strongly refute the suggestion that we are already saved and by faith alone because plenty of people of faith have done and continue to do terrible things. You must have faith AND live your faith by your actions! Judgement day is when we truly know if we are saved in my opinion.

YES, Catholics who proclaim Jesus Christ as their Savior ARE Christians.
True, some just go to Mass and pretend to be Christian, just like many Protestants do likewise. And those Catholics as well as Protestants will end up in Hell 🔥 if they do not wake up and repent.
(Good works have a lot more to do with living in accordance with God's Word and will, and less to do with being kind or good deeds)
As for being saved, are we saved by faith alone, or faith + works?
Let's see what the Bible says
JAMS. 2:24: -A man is justified by works and NOT by faith alone.
JAMS. 2:26: -Faith without works is dead.
GAL. 5:6: -only thing that counts is faith working in love.
1 COR. 13:2 - faith without love is nothing.
JOHN 14:15 - If you love Me (Jesus) keep My Commandments.
MATT. 19:16-17 - If you wish to enter into life, keep My Commandments.

As we Catholics always point out, the phenomenon is: "Weak Catholics become Evangelicals or Protestants. Strong Evangelicals or Protestants become Catholics." Weakness and strength here refer to: especially knowledge and understanding of the Bible, and also church history, doctrine and morals, and one's covenant (not "personal relationship" which is unbiblical) with Jesus. Those Evangelicals or Protestants who devoutly study the Bible in its fullness eventually discover that the Catholic Church is the original, authentic, and complete Christian Church founded by Jesus Christ himself and so decide to join or revert to it. Those who have not yet done so, have not yet fully studied and understood (underline: fully studied and understood) the Bible.

Asaph Vapor you obviously have not “fully studied or understood” Acts or the Bible for that matter. It was the first Pope, Peter (Matthew 16), in the Holy Spirit, who lead and presided the Jerusalem church (Acts 2). That was the birth of the Catholic Church. I would strongly urge you to look into transubstantiation of the Eucharist and you’ll realize why that makes the Catholic gospel completely false because in order to eat Jesus’s flesh he’d have to die resurrect again every single Sunday. That in itself contributes to the false Catholic gospel and Paul was clear that anyone preaching a false Gospel will be accursed. Not to mention by definition is cannibalism and vampirism.
I was raised Catholic and the info that I’m giving to you is done out of love not only you but to keep the gospel of Jesus Christ the way it always was and should stay. I was a Catholic for over 25 years and I started doing research and that’s why I am no longer a Roman catholic.
Roman Catholicism cannot be called Christianity because Mary is a deity . Check your king James Bible and let me know if it says in the Bible that Mary was assumed was to heaven. Roman Catholics changed the Ten Commandments, The Our Father and praying to these dead “saints” is definitely against what Scripture tells us to do and that is to go directly to our creator Jesus Christ and to our Holy Father.

The Catholic priest or Bishop makes present the one and only sacrifice at every Mass. We DO NOT recrucify Jesus at every Mass. Mass transcends time and space so we are truly present at the Last Supper. Look up the Jews and the Passover where they make the Exodus present at every Passover event. I’m sorry that you left the Eucharist for a lie but many do just like when many walked away from Jesus in John 6:66. There are many reputable videos on Catholic misconceptions by qualified speakers. Scott Hahn, Bishop Barron , Alaister McIntyre etc.
The way I see it. When christianity was being established there were experts in many fields all working together to collate what is now the Bible. They worked painstakingly on this and devoted their lives to getting it right.
When completed because of the subtlety in the nuances it was thought that it should be interpreted by those that would take these nuances into account. In an age when most people were illiterate this was thought to be the best move.
If these nuances were to be misinterpreted they could give ambiguity to the texts.
Catholicism left the interpretations to those qualified to do so and accepted the word handed down.
This was to prevent multiple interpretations leading to schisms in the Christian doctrine.
It is these schisms that have lead to all the different evangelical and protestant versions.
Just for the record Catholics do not worship Mary, she is venerated.

The Original KJV Bible contained those 7 books for 274 Years, from 1611-1885! Those books were then removed by Non-Catholics in 1885. Those books became quite Inconvenient to Non-Catholics. They said that the books were Not Canonical. In other words, they claimed that the New Testament did not Reference those 7 books. Yet, there are about 113 Cross-References between the New Testament and those 7 books. They removed them in 1885, so that no one would know that they did belong, do belong. I learned that, interestingly, on an Official King James Version Online Bible study site. I was surprised that they even admitted that. When I first learned that, I asked myself just WHY it would have taken them 274 YEARS to figure out that those books did not belong. Guided by the Holy Spirit, guided by God? Were they guided by the Holy Spirit, guided by God, when they included those 7 books in the Original KJV Bible and KEPT them for 274 Years, from 1611-1885?? OR, were they guided by the Holy Spirit, guided by God, when they had those books Removed in 1885?? One way or the other, they were Not guided by God. Which is it? He also said that he wanted to "Throw Jimmy into the fire." He also based his reasonings on not wanting the 7 books on the reasonings of the Jewish Council of Jamnia. The Jews at Jamnia were Jews who were not converts to Christ. The Jews at Jamnia, being that they were not converts to Christ...had no divine Right to say just WHICH books Christians included in their Bible. Apparently Luther thought they did...or, he didn't think.? I have heard some claim that the Jews did not approve of the 7 books. There were Jews who did approve of those 7 books, who WERE converts to Christ. The diaspora Jews accepted the 7 books, accepted Jesus as their Savior. Yet, Luther chose to go along with the reasonings of the Jews at Jamnia, with Jews who DID NOT accept Christ , who were not converts, who did not want to spread the good news of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Guided by God? I have heard that there may not have been a Jewish Council of Jamnia. Whether there was or not, Luther believed they existed, and went right along with their reasonings...with the reasonings of the Jews who were not converts to Christ. The diaspora had a real divine right to say Which books to include in the Bible. Luther thought otherwise. Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit got His way when those 7 Books were included in the Original KJV Bible (1611)....and were kept until 1885. The Original KJV Bible was quite close to the Catholic Bible. If there is one thing that blatantly calls into question Catholicism for me, it’s the need to submit to the Popes authority. I submit to one Authority and that is Jesus Christ. Another blatantly antithetical Catholic tradition is calling the priests, father. Jesus said in as plain a language as possible that you are to call no man father but your Heavenly Father. From a non bias outside perspective, it seems silly to not think Catholics aren’t Christians. Do you all acknowledge one Creator? Was Jesus s real person and son of God? Do you all acknowledge sin and forgiveness? Then Catholics are Christians. End of story. It’s not that complicated.
Catholics derived from from the Old Testament which was translated from the Hebrew Scripture. Everyone knows the scripture may have been misinterpreted in some areas due to the limited selection of words, which hold multiple definitions. What a clusterf***. The point is, if you accept God into your heart and life, and acknowledge that he is your creator, and live a life of love, respect, acceptance, forgiveness etc, you’re a Christian. If yes, then he/she has not grasped the Gospel yet. Catholics who reject justification by grace through faith alone believe in a Jesus that is not sufficient to pardon their sins. You need to examine the basis on which you are a Protestant. Who founded the Catholic Church? Ans: Jesus Christ (Matt 16: 17-19) Who founded the first Protestant Church? Ans: Martin Luther (apostate Catholic priest) Why on earth would you follow the teachings of an apostate priest instead of the teachings of Christ's Universal Church? It is not Luther's Church it is Christ's Church! At the founding of His Catholic Church, did Jesus hand out Bibles and say' promulgate my teachings which are in this bible'? Ans. No, Jesus gave the apostles the mission to teach and preach; he never explicitly said to write down his teachings in the Bible. The apostles handed on the content of Hebrew texts via the spoken word and their own experiences which became Scripture and thus defined the Bible as an aid to their mission of teaching. The Church defined the canon of the bible. Where in the Bible does it say that the Bible is the sole means of passing on what Jesus taught? This is a basic Protestant belief. Ans. Nowhere! However, the bible does say that the "Church is the pillar and bulwark of truth". ( 1 Tim 3:15 ) Yet you have rejected the Church that Jesus founded and instead you are a member of Luther's church (or one of the thousands of offshoot denominations). Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The fact is, there are saved and lost Catholics just like there are saved and lost Protestants. The problem here is questions like this do nothing to profit, only cause division among believers, which the Bible plainly teaches against.
1 Timothy 1:4 - Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
Christ couldn't care less whether you're Protestant or Catholic.
When Jesus and the Apostles stopped at Cesarea Phillipi, He asked them who people were saying He was. Then He personally asked Peter who he believed He was ("confess with thy mouth/ believe in your heart.") Peter gave a heartfelt answer without regard to what the public was saying, which is exactly what Christ wants from us all. It is irrelevant in regards to your personal salvation if Peter was the first Pope, or if he wasn't saved until the Holy Spirit came after Christ's ascension. It doesn't matter what your denomination says, what determines your eternity is who YOU say and believe He is.
The time we waste trying to prove who's wrong and who's right should be used spreading the good news of God's love through His Son instead. "Let God be true and every man a liar" Romans 3:4

It is a foregone conclusion that Jesus Christ founded only one Church.
    1) Why then, do Protestants ignore this fact and continue to splinter the Body of Christ?
    2) There is no Protestant who can trace his or her church back any farther than the Protestant revolt of the early 16th century.
Where is the verse which authorized them to break from the true Church in the first place?
    3) No Protestant can show that their church was founded by Jesus Christ, yet Scripture says there is only one Church, the one founded by GOD (Psalms 127:1, Matthew 16:18).
    4) They deny that the Catholic Church is the Church which Jesus Christ founded, yet they cannot name the Church which He did found in its stead. Isn't it strange that Scripture has said that GOD's Church will last forever (Isaiah 2:2,59:21, Matthew 28:20, Ephesians 3:21), and yet Protestants refuse to name it? If Scripture can be believed at all, why then do they refuse to name GOD's one and only Church?
    5) They cannot name the person who founded the Catholic Church while at the same time they deny that it was Jesus Christ. That is strange also, since every Church on earth was founded by a person with a name. Every single one of the tens of thousands of Protestant sects can be traced back to a human person with a name, as its founder. Why is it that Protestants refuse to name the founder of the Catholic Church?
Isn't that the epitome of arrogance as I touched upon in a previous segment?
    6) Why do Protestants spread the lie that the Catholic Church apostatized soon after the last Apostle died, and therefore the Church of today is not the one that Jesus Christ founded?
This lie flies in the face of Matthew 16:18, as Protestants must then have to admit that the 'gates of hell' did indeed prevail, that the Bible was in error, and that all of the verses I have previously listed that promise the perpetualty of Christ's Church must be in error as well. This so-called "great apostasy" lie is then magnified a hundredfold since no Protestant can produce genuine historical documents which record such a "monumental, universe shaking event". Every writer who was alive at the time had to have witnessed that supposed "profound event", and those who have lived ever since (up until the time that the lie was invented by Protestantism), did not write about it either. What with the "greatest event since the crucifixion" at hand, why didn't they? It is because it never happened, that's why. Simply put, "No lie is of the truth", 1John @, so therefore no lie can be proven.
Scripture does say that people within Christ's Church will apostatize, but not the Church itself. For you see, it is impossible, since Christ is the Head, and the Church is His Body.
How could the Body of Christ rebel against, and leave His Head? They are inseparable forever.
"Wives, be subject to your husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior." Ephesians 5:22-23
Okay Protestants, explain those verses? Is Christ really the Savior of His Body, or did He desert it as Protestantism would have us believe? Is Holy Scripture in error yet again according to Protestant false charges?
Are we to believe the Protestant lie, or the truth of the Word of GOD?
Do you recall the story of the wheat and the chaff, where the weeds will co-exist with the righteous up until the very end, and then they will be separated out and burned (Matthew 13:24-30)?
"For, in the first place, when you assemble as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you; and I partly believe it, for there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized." 1Corinthians 11:18-19.
From those two verses we have a perfect example of the apostasy of individuals within the Church, those who cause divisions and factions. Now from what I have shown in many places in this writing, just who is the cause of divisions and factions? It is none other than Protestantism. Protestantism has already created over 36,000 divisions and factions, and which number is still increasing unceasingly every week to this very day.
Who are the 'genuine among you'?
They are the faithful of the one and only Church that Jesus Christ founded and which is still with us after almost 2000 years of persecution. Read Acts 5:38-39 for the reason why this longevity.
For those who continue to spread the lie of the so-called, and non-existent, "great apostasy", please re-read Revelation 21:8, and endeavor to explain Ephesians 5:23-24?
    7) How many verses have I shown in this writing that Protestants ignore? Isn't it a lie to say that you follow Scripture literally to the word, and yet ignore so many Scriptural verses?
    8) Why do Protestants take the whole Bible literally except for John chapter 6, which they call symbolic? One chapter in the whole Bible is symbolic? How can that be true?
    9) How can Protestants say that Sola Scriptura has been in use from day one, when for over 1400 years almost no one had a Bible, and even if they did, the great majority of the masses were illiterate anyhow?
    10) Since Protestants believe that "all Scripture is inspired (2Tim @)", then why aren't the gospels of Peter, Philip, Nicodemus, Bartholomew, Andrew, Thomas, etc, in their Bible?
    11) Where in Holy Scripture did Jesus give instructions that the Christian faith is to be solely based on a book? How about the same question except for using the Apostles instead of Jesus?
    12) Why do Protestants say it is the Bible which is the pillar and foundation of truth when the Bible clearly says it is the Church (1Tim @)? Please give me the name of that Church?
    13) Why do Protestants reject Apostolic Tradition when the Bible clearly says, "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold the teachings that you have learned, whether by word or by letter of ours."
2Thessalonians @, yet another verse ignored, and taught against by Protestantism.
    14) Why do Protestants deny that the Bible came from the Catholic Church when they cannot name a truthful and provable alternate source, and where there are literally hundreds of genuine historical documents which prove them to be wrong in their denial?
    15) Protestants deny that Peter was given primacy in Matthew 16:18. Nothing in Scripture is done without a purpose. For what purpose then, did Jesus change Simon's name to Peter?
    16) Why do Protestants deny that the Papacy is Scriptural, when in fact, it is very Scriptural?
    17) Why is it that Protestants can never supply genuine historical documents to "prove" their false charges? Is it because the lie can never be proven, but the truth can be?
It is simple, if you have no truth, then you have no proof.
Catholics can, and do, supply genuine historical documents to prove what they teach.
Why then do Protestants refuse to read them? Romans 1:18, 2:8
    18) Why do Protestants deny the unbroken line of succession of Popes down through the centuries from St. Peter to the present Pope, when the Catholic Church has given free access for anyone to research genuine historical documents to prove it to be true, but Protestants refuse to read them? Anyone can go to a secular encyclopedia and see the same succession of Popes.
    19) Why do Protestants deny that the Catholic Church has existed from the first century, when hundreds of genuine historical documents, written by scores of Holy men and women, are freely available to prove them wrong in their denial? However, Protestants simply refuse to read them. As explained earlier, Protestants teach that history ended with Acts 28:30 and did not begin again until Luther came along.
    20) I saved the worst Protestant lie as the last one on this list. When asked who founded the Catholic Church, there are some who answer correctly that it is Jesus Christ who founded it, but they quickly add that the Catholic Church fell into apostasy and is not the same Church today as the one founded by Jesus. Of course they have no documented proof of this world shaking event as to the who caused it and when and where it happened. By making this false charge they may have condemned themselves because they have just called Jesus Christ a liar. You see there are verses in Holy Scripture which they either choose to ignore or do not understand, and the verses show that Jesus in fact did promise that His Church would last for all time and so did St Paul:

Sheesh, you put a lot of time in this post. I find it amusing that the common enemy of many Protestants to be the Catholic Church. Yet there is no discussion of Eastern Orthodox. Also when a Southern Baptist disagrees with a Methodist, nothing is heard about it.
I'm thankful to be protestant free now for 4 years. If only others would put away their pride and read Church history and teachings then they might see the beauty that I now see. When I think of Christ's Church, nothing compares to the truth, beauty, and good like our Church does.

I've met Christians who were Catholics - they had a real love for Christ and noticeable fruit in their words and conduct. We all see in the mirror darkly.
