you are fortunate that you didn't damage your compressor putting it in upside down puts liquid into the system the compressor isn't designed to pump liquid....
To my understanding AutoZone and my friend that works for dodge just told me to pump it on the lower valve which it goes thru cycles of gas a liquid thru the coils. It’s part of the cycles it goes thru. The main problem I was told is to not over fill. That would be the true problem. But it’s been amazing. I also did the same thing to two other Tahoe’s that didn’t work at all and they’re working great now.
