R.I.P Akira Toriyama, this game was my first introduction to Dragon Ball, I had no idea what Dragon Ball is but the awesome gamplay and first hearing the Kamehameha was the most amazing thing ever, I'm not a die hard fan but Akira Toriyama did so much with the impact he has to the world with pushing past our limits and overcome our struggles and he will be missed forever
@FIGHTFAN777 He never said he didn't watch. And even if he doesn't, I know people who felt overwhelmed and weirded out when he died. It's a really... weird feeling of loss. It's as if we think people are immortal, physically.
That shot of Vegeta and Goku becoming Vegito will always give me chills

This is how I first experienced Dragon Ball. I never watched the show, so this game blew my mind when I was 5 years old. I would run home to play this everyday after kindergarten
I think i was 7 when I got this game but yeah I seen some clips when i was in second grade. I think it was goku beating up majin buu. The fat one in his super sayain 3 form. I played the game to under the series but it was awesome at first time.

I had a similar childhood except I played Budokai 1 and watched the anime when it was on TV. I still remember the first time I ever saw Super Saiyan 1 vs Frieza and SS3 against Majin Buu.
back when i played budokai 2 for the 1st time,i stopped watching dragon ball after Cell saga(Cartoon network ain't airing new episodes) so when i played it,Fck know who's this Goten kid and why he looks like goku, who's this pink chubby Mf,an earing that can fuse people,idk that stuff when i was around 8-9, maybe 10.
note: unlucky Us(me and my brothers,yes we gather money to buy the game) we got the official Japanese version,so idk the kid's name was Goten.

@@juan.3077 Unfortunately, I also have some bad associations with Budokai 2. As I had a friend that did a weird gatekeeping thing and didn't teach me how to charge Ki on it when I faced him on the game. So, no, Budokai 3's intro is better.
It was fun unlocking this movie in budokai 3 back in the day, since I never played budokai 2. It’s so catchy.

@@gionova1 No doubt because Kenji Yamamato plagiarized a lot of his music. No idea about Budokai 2 but 3 had a couple clearly plagiarized songs, including the opening theme. Why include the extra opening video if you can't give it the proper music?
R.I.P Akira Toriyama. Not only was this my first introduction to the world of dragonball. It was also the first video game I ever played. Didn't even belong to me, it was one I found left in a cabinet by my mom's ex boyfriend. This game, this world, helped shape the rest of my life. I don't think I would be the person I am today without Dragonball. Thank you, Toriyama. Enjoy your rest, you've earned it.

My parents got this game for me on my birthday despite them always struggling with money. Seeing this opening reminded me of that and all the feelings I had when this crazy opening played for the first time.

The way goku and kid Buu are fighting is exactly how the scale of a fight between characters that powerful is supposed to look. No episode or movie of dbz or super has gotten it as close maybe except for the freeza saga

I get a little salty everytime i see comments like this, far too clueless. Most ps2 cutscenes are 1000% better than most modern animes for the reason SoniKast explained. There is no logic in 'good for his time'. Amazing how some people are blind to the perfect high level of animation and say things based on the ps2 age.

This was back when every game went further with the sagas from Budokai 1-3. So every game you went from being excited to finally play SSJ2, SSJ3, Vegito, Gogeta, and SSJ4. Ah those were the times.
This is How I feel a Dbz Burst Limit 2 Would have been Like. It would be Based on the Buu Saga like This Game

Man, this hits me in such a good way. Me & my friends everyday after school loved this game series!
The memories man. Playing Dragon World with all those great battles and what if dialogues. The movesets that included those piece em up flurry supers (every Dragon ball game should have those). Only thing this game was missing was a cinematic story mode, beam struggles and teleport mechanics during gameplay. If you could take the best of Budokai 1 and 2 and mix it with 3 and Infinite World you got potentially the best DB game in my mind.
The piece em up flurry supers from 1 and 2 along with the beam struggles, teleportation mechanics, and cinematic ultimates from 3 all in one game and it's pretty much complete. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

I loved the turn based board game mechanic in the story mode for this game
I did too. It was interesting and amazing. I feel like adding a few more characters to your side of the board (like 1 or 2 more) after the 1st completion would have done the game better in that regard. Otherwise it was the best budokai 2D fighting style I’ve ever played.

I like how this op tells a story while showcasing in-game characters and features.

at 1:04 it's astounding the fight against Kid Buu was at that pace just better animated. Goku fought him for at least 10 to 15 minutes like the Kai planet
The first DBZ game I played and apart from almost pulling my hair out in frustration over that last Kid Buu Fight, I loved this game and this Intro definitely helped

Nostalgic af. I played this non stop back in the day. I don't care this opening is better than budokai 3. I remember Majin Buu breaking my controller he was not messing around. Such an awesome game where Tien and Yamcha can fuse into Tiencha and if you fail he goes slender same with Gotenks turning fat and Majin buu absorbing vegeta, gohan, tien and yamcha, cell, frieza and gotenks. There is even a potara fusion with Goku and Hercule (Mr. Satan) turning into Gokule a freaking beast shooting swirly beams and Pink Spirit Bombs. The charged attack clashes against a local friend beating those sticks to see who wins. World tournaments and the freaking tutorials for learning how to play is really fun to do. You could even cheat into getting all the characters and skills 100% if you keep going in and out of Bulma's item shop while holding R2 i believe. It took alot of patience to 100%. Hehe might I add that I was terrified of Fat Majin Buu's Special Move where he explodes no cap. I still haven't beaten Kid Buu yet. This game is my favorite dragon ball game of all time. Thank you for the flashback memories.
