Omg! I JUST bought that exact pot this weekend for the same purpose! I cannot thank you enough for this great tutorial , even I can do this, easy peasy! It is a great pot too, I made a very small test batch of soy blend container candles and used the pot of course as my melter. Then I poured the wax into my pouring pots and added my color and f.o. It was nice not having to deal with the double boiler. I will be making larger batches, so I will definitely be using your instructions. Thank you, thank you! Beats the hell out of paying over $100 on Etsy for the exact same thing. 👍🏻😉

Thanks for the info. I managed to score two Presto Pots with Amazon points (so I paid nothing for them lol) and went to my local Home Depot for the spigots and JB Weld for a whopping $21.37. Thanks to Jeff I now have 2 fantastic Presto Pots to simplify my process and boy do they ever make life easier lol!! The magic that can happen with Presto Pots and power tools lmao....it was fun and so easy. Again, Thank you Jeff for the tutorial!!

Hi Stanley, I got this pot for Christmas. I use Pillar of Bliss wax. On my 2nd pot of wax, the wax started making sounds like it was boiling eventhough it was only in there for a few minutes. I attended to it, and even cut hole in the unmelted wax so the melted wax could release the bubbles it was producing. I had the pot on its lowest setting of warm to 200°. Bam! The pressure built up so much that it exploded sending all the wax to the lid, and also some outside of the pot. All this happened within 5-10 mins. I was with the pot the entire time. Do you have any ideas why this happened?

It would depend on the size of valve you are using on the pot. You can ask your hardware guy what size bit you should use for the valve you want to use. Also, please remember 2 things. 1. Always wear safety glasses while drilling. 2. NEVER use a spade bit like the one shown in the video on metal. It's specifically designed for wood. When used on metal, it will shatter sending metal bits everywhere.

Do you think the JB weld could seal it as it is? Theres no gaps between the hole and the valve, but it doesnt *quite* fit snug

Hi Stanley, such an amazing video! My husband actually made one for me but after using a few times... The wax turns to a very peachy colour with a waxy smell. I wonder is this because I've overcooked them from directed heat? Rather than double boiler? 😢 Do you have any experience with over cooked wax? (I measured the temperature which is around 110 C)That particular batch has less scent through performance. So I guess I need to be very careful with that...😔

Viola Wang You might of burned the wax that is a really high temperature.
I typically heat my wax to no more than 82C

Nice one but you could have installed the tap further lower so that most of the wax be drained out ✌

Hey there thanks for this!! You are the bomb.com
My hubby just made mine 🤗.
And what I found to work for the clogged spout is leaving the spout open to drip. While the wax is melting when it’s at 180 I pour the drips back in the pot and open the spout to pour my pound or whatever I need.
It was a pain the first couple days that it was clogged and I thought he didn’t make it right 🥴. He got tired of me giving Jeff praises and referencing your channel that he had to show me how to make lemonade lol
Please I need you to schedule time to do a problem solving tips and tricks video on using the melt pot please and thanks. I love love standley university 😋

Oh dear God, don't use wood hole cutting bits on cast iron (or any metals). That is extremely dangerous. Bits for the wrong material can ruin your target and your drill bit.
