Such a great presentation! We were just wondering what we could give as gifts this Christmas that would be unique and hand-made. I think I've just figured out what we're going to do. Thank you, Bob, for sharing, and Molly for the demonstration! I also appreciate that you shared the prices of all components and your selling prices. Thumbs up and Merry Christmas!
Many would say an employer can be measured by the quality of employees they attract and promote within their busines. Merry Christmas Bob and crew, great video Molly :)
Great how you do video of candle making! I love how you show all the simple materials and the process as well. Merry Christmas to everyone at Blue Ridge Honey company and see you guys at Hive Life conference.
Hi Molly i am new to beeswax candles. i am using square braid cotton wick but am finding i get a carbon cap or mushrooming if i burn my candle for up to an hour and a half. Is this normal? if not could you recommend a specific brand of wick for beeswax candle making please. Loved your rolled candles. Beautiful
Do you pour these wax sheets yourself, or do you buy them pre-rolled? I'm wondering if theres a formula you use to make the wax pliable enough to roll like this instead of breaking or cracking while rolling.
Tried making my own sheets on a mold 😳. Was a disaster - too much wax. Any suggestions? I know you purchased yours, but any advice would be appreciated 💛🐝
Molly said if it is bigger than 1" but less than 3" you use a wick that is #2/0. However, these candles looked longer than 3" I think I am missing something here? Can you help me out?
Nice, never seen that style of beeswax candle. Molly gona make it back out in the yard, she was fun to watch with the bees.😁Ty for sharing your time Bob, Molly. Have a 🎄Merry Christmas.🙏
Bob, about what temperature do you keep the area where Miss Molly makes the rolled candles? Maybe you should have her making a few at HL to sell there in the booth with Bryan..
Ha Molly please do not take offence of this but you are a beautiful woman, great job with the video thank you for sharing how u make candles you make it look so easy. I hope all of you have a wonderful Christmas God Bless and have a great week
As a rule of thumb use 1 oz of essential oils to 1 lb of wax. A bit heavier or lighter as you prefer. And as always practice in small batches before you melt/mold many. Inside the roll? I do not see why not. You would just have to try it.
Thank you for providing details of the wicks, I always find I have to experiment as different suppliers have different gauge measurements and I usually go one size higher as beeswax candles seem to require going bigger than advertised otherwise they don’t burn well.
Very helpful! As a beekeeper I just started making Kombucha and now with the holidays I would love to make candles. Thank you!

Do you pour these wax sheets yourself, or do you buy them pre-rolled? I'm wondering if theres a formula you use to make the wax pliable enough to roll like this instead of breaking or cracking while rolling.
We purchase these wax sheets from Dadant.
What size wick do you recommend for rolled candles?
#2/0
Tried making my own sheets on a mold 😳. Was a disaster - too much wax. Any suggestions? I know you purchased yours, but any advice would be appreciated 💛🐝
Sorry, we've never tried to make our own sheets.
What size wick do you have to use please? ie width not length.
We use two sizes depending on the size candle. 60 ply and 2/0.
How would you add scent to them
We've never done it but one of our customers told us she puts several drops on the sheets before rolling them.
Do you make your own sheets?
We purchase them from "Dadant" and "Mann Lake". Both are beekeeping supply businesses.
Molly said if it is bigger than 1" but less than 3" you use a wick that is #2/0. However, these candles looked longer than 3" I think I am missing something here? Can you help me out?
Found my answer in another video on candles you made. Diameter not length of candle. Thanks!
do you not dip your wick,we did on our candles
We don't dip the wick on any of our candles and don't have any issues.
@@bobbinnie9872 cheers, love your videos, happy christmas from the UK
@@harrycook1288 Thank you. Have a wonderful Christmas.
My question exactly! Always wondered if I was suppose to dip the wicks. Thanks
Can this be done with soy wax or just beesewax?
We've never used soy wax so I couldn't say.
@@bobbinnie9872 ok thanx
How do you use them
They burn well. We just stand them up straight and light and they work fine.

Merry Christmas Frances.
Her smile is so natural.
Could someone create a scented candle by putting a few drops of essential oil on the wax while rolling it up?
As a rule of thumb use 1 oz of essential oils to 1 lb of wax. A bit heavier or lighter as you prefer. And as always practice in small batches before you melt/mold many. Inside the roll? I do not see why not. You would just have to try it.
