Thanks Angela. You were the first quilter I watched when I got my longarm about 7 or 8 years ago. I bought several of your books and LOVED the Midnight Quilt Show! ❤
I’ve done most of your challenge quilts and I learned so much more from you, than I ever learned from an in person class. Without you, I’m positive I’d still have a pile of UFQ’s. Thank you for taking your time to do all of these videos.
Angela, thank you for breaking down your approach to quilting a quilt. I learned a lot from this vid! Many thanks for your hints and tips and your artistic freedom when quilting. Now, I just have to let go and have fun. ❤
Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve not watched your live chats before but this was incredibly helpful and I’ll definitely be watching more often in the future. I love your honesty and simplicity of your discussions. And I have a Queen of Diamonds sitting waiting to be quilted and you addressed the EXACT reason why I’ve been holding off working on it. Thanks again!!!
Well, even with your wonderful explanation, I still don't understand how you do it all because of the color changes you obviously make. Your work is amazing and I so love seeing how you come up with different designs in different size areas!!!
Thank you for showing us this quilt. I have the diamonds hanging on my design board but haven't sewn them together yet. This gives me some inspiration!
Thanks for the detailed information, I love to use some ideas for my Queen of Diamond. One question: did you take the EPP into consideration at all in your design? I have been told to not stitch in the ditch on EPP projects.
I do have a question if you stumble across this question that would be fabulous… When you tie off to change color or whatever and you do your tack, do you sniff your threads or do you bury them?
Sorry I missed the live. I am new to quilting, but I have a friend's quilt that I am doing for her. She has asked for custom on a tumbling block quilt. I am stressing over the blank space around the block sets. There is groups of blocks with large white blank areas around them. I can not think of what to quilt in those areas. Please help with ideas!
I recently quilted my first quilt with my sewing machine. Ik had some troubles with the freemotion quilting when i was going “backwards” it skips stitcues. What do i do wrong?
I have an amara 20 which I got in April. I am having a difficult time using my rulers. The machine feels like it is stuck. What am I doing wrong. I had a simply 16 prior to this one
Great video. I'm a new ruler quilter. I have been feeling very frustrated. I have a Janome 6600P and brought a ruler foot and ruler. I have tried everything but my top thread keeps shredding, near the needle. I have adjusted top and bobbin tension, still happening, altered foot hight still happening. Changed spool and bobbin. After 3 hours of trying to get more than 18 inches of ruler quilting before thread shredded I gave up and fmq the quilt I was working on. The machine fmq as usual and it is the same set up as ruler worker, what's could be causing this. Can anyone give me advice of what I'm doing wrong.
I always experiment on a test piece. I have found when having this sort of problem, there are 3 issues that are likely causing this kind of problem: 1) the needle size (the eye of the needle many times is the issue); 2) tension, is it a wee bit tight or lose; 3) stitch length. I play around with these possibilities until I find my groove. So, hang onto those test fabric & batting scraps. When I find the perfect combination, I write on the fabric scrap what I did to get that beautiful quilting combination. Yes, I have a plastic tote where I toss my practice pieces. I frequently dig thru the tote to solve quilting issues, or just for inspiration. HINT: these practice pieces, with the written details, have saved me, or the quilt, many times! ❤

I love the idea of breaking those large spaces into smaller sections! I learn so much from watching your videos! Thanks!!

The bracket idea is great! I have (believe it or not!) A simply 16! So know about throat space. Thanks for all your advice!
OH, love that football field table runner.
How do you get the quilting brackets sized to fit the area you’re quilting, so perfect? Is there a way you mark or measure to get the perfect?❤
I do have a question if you stumble across this question that would be fabulous… When you tie off to change color or whatever and you do your tack, do you sniff your threads or do you bury them?

How long did you quilt on quilts before you quilted for clients?

I have a Janome also. I use Glide thread a new purple needle. Glide thread never shreds for me.Good luck!
@@karenbeck8769 thanks for your help, will give the glide thread and needle a go. Thanks again

@@lindsayschilling8707 thank you, will try to eliminate all of your suggestions. Quilters are a wonderful group of knowledgeable people.
Well thanks guys, it was the thread. I can now practice without thread shredding. Thank you
I am here, Darn it-I missed the live session. It's always some kind of crazy here.
What batting did you use in Tula's Queen of Diamonds?
panel is too cute!
I love that bracket in the purple!
Tulsa circle seems like a hydrangea!
Why would you not match your feathers directions?
cute panel
