In about 20 years, we’ll be hearing from someone saying “I was the baby in Mushroomhead’s _The Heresy_ music video. Sooner, if the parents come forward.
I think that was the real sacrifice
How cool would it be to be able to say you were that baby!!
They already did. You can see the parents and the baby, with their full name, on Jackie's personal IG page.
Why does it matter though?
Because it would've been cool
cant stop listening to this song
ive probably heard it 100 times already lol
cant stop listening to this album
same, I'm on a loop listening to the album!
same. tho this one, What A Shame and Carry On especially
Half of the views are mine!
She has this incredible costume, but we only get to see the top half in the video.
Yes Jackie LaPonza is a goddess
what a legend
She got presence and a great voice. The perfect fit for an aging, evolving Mushroomhead.
The nostalgic feel of JMann's makeup you just can't get any better than that
I even appreciated the fact that two of the members were actually wearing military gear in the video, and Steve Rauckhorst was wearing a military officer jacket reminiscent to what Jeffrey wore back in XX and XIII.
The age and wear or make-up is freaking cool.
Just realized. Every video JMann is in with Jackie he uses his old face paint. Example is this and We Are The Truth.
@@Kyoko_02 Yeah but Seen It All.
The full eye contacts had to suck, but the result is stunning, dark and sinister. I 🖤.
I would love to see a Mushroomhead themed movie like this, set in an alternate WWII timeline.
I'd pay to watch that.
This is probably some of the best work from Mushroom since Solitaire Unraveling both visually and musically. This is fucking rad!
Absolutely not
Mushroomhead has went down hill SIGNIFICANTLY since Jeff left! I like only one song from this new “Era” of mush head and it certainly isn’t this one. They are too poppy sounding now. A true blue Head isn’t digging this new turn they took
Lmfao get over yourselves elitists. Members leave, new ones get added, the band has to reinvent themselves to keep moving on. There's enough there to still recognize the old bones, but if you don't like it? Go listen to something else. Every era of this band has something offer.✌️
Make up with no mask was the right pick, both nostalgic and captivating. well done on the camera work.
This song is great, never thought I'd be a Mushroomhead fan, but there you go. The only constant is change. So hide your daughters and your first born sons.
As a film student I find this really fascinating, I hope to direct music videos like this one day.
I believe you will
Have you graduated from film school yet? Have you done any filming of music videos or short films?
Hope one day you can achieve your goals.
Jackie looks awesome in this video. Everything is perfect...the song, everyones look, the atmosphere.
I usually don't really care for music videos but seeing J mann in his old makeup was nice
Why wasn't Jeffrey in the video?
@@alejandroborge2435 Jeff Hatrix left the band in 2018.
I'm 61 years old and love what you all have done!
The video and set design were really well done in this.
Band is def trending in new places. Of course some people hate it, but I love it. And I’m an old mushroomhead fan 🤘🏼
Likewise, XX was my all time favorite until A Wonderful Life came out, like holy fuck. 3 months, 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT , start to finish , every day, every night I jammed the shit outta AWL.. Still am lol NEVER LET IT GO
@@mushroomhead3298it’s not even mushroomhead anymore as far as im concerned. It’s a different band
"Gorgeous" does not even begin to describe how well that outfit looks on Jackie. The other designs within the video are equally brilliant, in my not so humble opinion. Also, even after hearing this song for probably over a hundred times by now, it still feel as good (if not better) as the first time I heard it. That is a rare thing for me. The band (et al.) sure has every reasons for being very proud of this achievement. This video was my introduction to Mushroomhead, which might be a bit odd for a 42 y/o metal head, but they nailed it and I'm hooked now. I get why old fans will bitch and hate, about how the band they used to know essentially has died to them, because a change in style (or whatever). Fair enough, but I sincerely doubt it has anything to do with the current quality of Mushroomhead. I guess that the many "this sucks" responses I read from self declared old fans (as if it gives them more importance/authority), but not a single one of them actually elaborating as to why, only illustrates that point.
Most bands are awesome when you give them a chance and ignore their fanbase.
change and evolution is good
This was the second song I heard by them and I was HOOKED when I heard it. I appreciate the older stuff ( I’m new but have been listening to old songs), but there is something special about this album. It’s incredibly moving to me.
@@chrissxix maybe not to melancholic people, but both certainly are inevitable
She really does look beautiful; movie-level makeup and costuming.
Love the anti war theme and the Germsn soldier . J mans reminds me of the lead singer of Rammstein . And the girl pulled off a very believable and great visual performance.
Till is the lead singer of Ramm and I thought the same thing too, also the guy in the german overcoat i loved coz he has a julius caesar mask
Loved the homage to a few movies. Well-known movies, I might add.
@@Saintphoenix86 Jefferey Nothing. He had been wearing those overcoats for years.
@@txmetalhead82xk That is Steve Rauckhorst. Nothing had already left the band by that time.
I'm so glad J came back and the incorporation of a female vocalist made mushroomhead far better than ever 💜
aaand she's gone
@@Valaran1she’s touring with them right now
No mask on JMann can ever beat his iconic face paint. Still can't figure out why Skinny didn't get much screen time in the MV
Too busy directing lol
++++
I love how much emotion and acting was put into the clip even when the guys are musicians they acted in the clip like triple A movie stars
Most likeable new member of a band ever. Good on them.
I like it. I’m glad they didn’t use deep sea diver and just went with old school style makeup on jmann. I think it was a way better fit for this awesome video
The filming and editing were amazing. No quick jumps, kinda lets the set and costumes tell the story. The long takes gives it a immersive feel to me
I love behind the scenes so much. There’s sooo much that goes into the final cut of a music video.
Besides those sparks, she kept it extrem professionell thought she got hit❤
I want stats for this video. Like how long did it take? How much did it cost? How many contacts did Jackie go through How many dick jokes were made? How many times did someone say "dude this video is gonna be BOMB" while holding a bomb? Ya know, the usual!
Lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I legit would be interested to know things like budget etc behind things like this. Mushroomheads videos always seem to have excellent production, props and effects. As someone who wants to get into film making at some point I'd genuinely be interested to see how they manage to do this on what I imagine is more of a tight budget than bands like Rammstein who are more or less given blank cheques to make whatever they want.
Lol
Это же сколько работы было проделано ради одного клипа, лойс ребят👍
I think it’s one of the best songs/videos of all time
The hook to this song was stuck in my head for like 3 days after seeing the music video. As a 3d artist the amount of work you guys put into making the set is just fascinating. I genuinely thought that scene at the factory with the sparks was like a real old warehouse location.
Love this song. Great to see Shroom back in full force! Jackie is awesome. a welcome addition to the band.
Props to Jackie for being able to sing with sparks hotting her!
I just subbed to a new group. Jackie is beautiful and j Mann and the rest of the group are awesome. Reminds me of an alternate Mad Max or apocalyptic scenario. Great work people. Caught my interest
Ms. Jackie Laponza, Mushroom head's New Lead Vocalist Will Make An Excellent Mother Some Day.
Twist: baby is the daughter of the baby who was on the cover of Nevermind.
Is this true???
Lmao
There's something bout this version of mushroomhead that I absolutely love
The more and more I listen to this band the better and better they get. My neighbor's are coming around too! LOL!
It's very difficult to stand apart from everything going on in the music industry and stay relevant. You guys and gals
make something that can be very difficult look so natural. MUSHROOMHEAD is definitely at the top of there game
with more to come. Thank you!
I love to see the creative process to such incredible short films / videos. And it's great to see Jackie muck in with the rest of the artists.
I Spam this tune for hours whenever it plays randomly on my jukebox and aesthetically speaking it's one of my favourite music videos of all time. INCREDIBLE WORK everyone at Mushroomhead and the crew who contributed to the video.
I really love this band . From Turkey
I was loving this , mushroomhead new era.
this just makes my entire being so happy! Brings me back to when I was just a little thing! JMann saved my life! The sound is still true to the band that helped make me!
MANN & Nothing as well as the whole band , every member past & present saved my ass one overall time; and hundreds of in between times.. X Face is tattooed on my forearm, only band that will ever be on my being. xx NEVER LET IT GO!! xx
People are all cool with Kiss, Gwar, glam metal fashion, corpse paint, all of that, but give Slipknot and Mushroomhead makeup: "Oh, they're fake and pretentious!" Yeah, the music matters, but when there's visuals as well, why not? Music, along with comedy and audio-books, are just the entertainment through sound. Who gets mad when there's a visual performance on top of it? I think it helps with songs sometimes. Like in hip hop, especially battles, some metaphors and punchlines go over your heads unless you either hear the inflection in their voice, or notice the gestures in relation to their lyrics.
Who is saying they're fake and pretentious? come on dont get worked up by a few nobodies. Music has always been a visual show as well, there is no debate
Hands down one of the BEST videos and songs I have EVER heard!
I love how the make up on J Mann is not perfect and looks worn out like Heath Ledger's Joker
Being too clean is kinda boring. The messier, the more grimier and "real" to me.
brucenatelee you should probably take a shower then ; )
3:55
Jackie: "So, baby was not afraid of me."
Baby's eyes: "Help....."
:-)))
I've listened to Mushroomhead al my life and I don't care if some people don't like this style. I love it how they can move to different styles and concepts and keep being them imo. They rock no matter how much they experiment.
"We were able to catch better emotion with the make-up" True... but we all just wanted some classic Jmann lets be honest.
I’m very happy they gave us some behind the scenes look. I’ve always been intrigued by the thought process, not to mention the work put in to it
Waiting for a JMann's cigar review
🤣
One of the best Music Video's and songs ever. I love all the little gestures and movements from Jackie. And i love her makeup
With and without the makeup, she is beautiful 😍
First off, the cinematography, sets, makeup and editing are impeccable....absolutely one of MRH finest videos. My only knit-pick is I wish Skinny/Steve Felton had given more variety to the shots he chose. Minus the intro, most of the shots are of Jackie (Laponza) and Jmann that just sorta drift up and down instead of utilizing the sets and the other band members. I realize they're the singers and need to be given the most screen-time but adding more visually interesting shots could've really added to MRH's already cinematic style. Apart from that....this is an absolutely dope video.
One of the three most dynamic videos. Hats off to the camera work, producers, directors and Jackie... No one could have portrayed that better, and your hot
So put this video on the other day in the car as I use the blue tooth through the car to listen to RUclips and my daughter watched the video. She is now a huge fan. She liked We Are The Truth but this hooked her. Amazingly done video. The details are first class. Can't wait for this crap to be over so we can come see you on tour hopefully.
I was trying to figure out the spark effects when I noticed a spark bounced off her eye. Glad she had a contact in that acted as eye protection. Over to top videos with some of the absolute best music.
That was metal AF and sexi
It's always interesting for me to see a video like this, and then see the band members just talking and being themselves. They are always so different than what they are conveying in their band imagery and music. Just once I would like for a dark band to be that way in real life.
OSHA would not approve of the angel grinder used in the making of this video
Does OSHA keep track of grinders used on angels? :)
@@tylerpotenberg8969 lol
@@tylerpotenberg8969 Given the nature of the video, the typo fits.
Was about to say my infant nephew would’ve loved her lol he loves Halloween one time this women was wearing a zombie outfit and when he saw her he just smiled
Yeah, I can't speak for the rest of the world, but I enjoy this masterpiece at least a few times in the span of a week ever since its release, when I stumbled across it in my queue. Cheers
As a film student one day I hope I get to work on a project like this. This music video will forever be one of my favorites.
Loving all the costumes and make-up it looks fantastic
I hope we get a directors cut of this!
I love how they show u how the amazing video is made. Honestly i think most of the songs on the album are worthy of being put out there as singles. Absolute *MASTERPIECE*
Wonderful video for behind the scenes. Beautiful video! so happy at the direction they're going. the new album is amazing and Jackie is a great addition to Mushroomhead!
3:35 "There were no babies eaten..."
Sorry, Mr. Biden. You'll have your fill next time.
David Cho OOF OMG I FEEL BAD FOR GETTING THAT JOKE
Dude don't make this shit political
I like the Resident Evil energy the band exhales in that video
this song is so good
Absolutely brilliant! Great production. Love the female lead singer's voice and look. She reminds me a little of Morticia on the Adam's family. The male- female voices blended well together and the music was great from the band.
As a former welder, blacksmith, and now a soldier this song and video spoke to my soul. I have a 130lb sledge hammer I use to pray to that the hammer may carry the burden of my sins and when I'm working out to this song its me destroying the evil inside of me.
You all are as important to me as my hammer. By the gods and the all father. Thank you.
The set design and lighting were amazing on this.
Through-out the song, I kept looking at the sparks and reflections.
The materials looked great and so real :O
I got to meet, hang out, and just chat with Jackie LaPonza when Unsaid Fate was on tour with Mushroomhead for The Righteous and The Butterfly.
Yea, she's gorgeous, but damn is she also a smart and very intelligent person.
Wish I could post the pics of us.
the make up of Jman is actually a shout out to his classic corpse paint before he went on full Magneto
This is the most metal music video I've ever seen, fantastic.
Generally not a big fan of any of the bands other songs if I'm completely honest. But I just love the harmonic contrast between both vocalist in this song and the heavy rift with the piano is just so good!
I look forward to hopefully more songs like this in the future.
her makeup is flawless
Even the Making Of video feels like the opening scene of a found footage horror movie.
This song and the album in general are just awesome and cant get enough. Plus the video for this song has me hooked.
They put so much effort into everything, it's truly love and passion for the art.
Stunning video and the song gets better with every listen.
Viva Mushroomhead! 🤘🏼
I love this woman
The song that i never get bored listening to. 🤘🤘
absolutely amazing video for a killer song!
Love Ya Bink Jackie you are such a Amazing Woman don't ever change for anything.
Loved the video. I listened to mushroom head in jr high. Just found them again cant wait to catch up
I especially love the slow motion effect, recording at a higher BPM and slowing it back down to normal BPM. Gives such a cool effect.
One of my favorite music videos
This video and song gives so many chills and emotions.
So beautiful on oh so many levels. Welcome back Mushroomhead- I like where you guys are taking this awesome band. We love you~
1 of my favorite songs ever
Love it so much! This is the best thing you folks have done so far - just a great piece of art. Thanks for sharing how it came together, its really cool to see the band working together and that must have been a blast to do.
Ms.Jackie, you are my Crush and inspiration. i love your work!
Thanks for uploading this. So nice to see some of what went into making the video, and what could have been (like the diving helmet). Y'all realize that you have made it hard to followup this video now, right?
Ms Laponza is freaking awesome! She stays in her own range and vocal character all the freaking time without trying to sound “rude metal tomboyish” which is a huge issue for the most of female metal singers
Thank you guys for this. Loved this song and video
fav song. love her outfit, absolutely amazing voice and she is hot!!!!
It's crazy these guys are My hometown heroes from Cleveland been a fan since super Buick if you've never seen them live you must go it's amazing...
i didn’t realize this was set/makeup. got the vibe they just woke up like that in a bunker they chill in
Well hell, better late than never - I’m just catching up with this and I have to say this is well produced, directed, ya guys did the set and props, hats off.
We met at Riley’s Rockhouse, Aurora, IL. Snow storm kept the club from filling up but I was fn there. You know you started with the muppets theme way back then.
Love ya guys and Jackie! Beautiful piece of art!!
Stunning video and fantastic song, congrats to everyone involved
that is so cool to see they got there hands dirty and build things for the video i got much respect
I love you guys, so much!!
I enjoy it as much as all of you do jackie, its an awesome song and video! 🤘
The visuals are quite well done on the video,as with all mushroomhead videos. I won't even comment on anything other than that
These behind the scenes looks are great! Thank you for posting these!
