  • Sphinx is an Egyptian-themed steel family roller coaster that has operated at (Mitsui) Greenland Theme Park in Japan since 1993. Video includes off-ride footage and a complete POV filmed in September 2009 during the European Coaster Club's tour of Japan and South Korea.

    Wow a terrain family coaster. They are uncommon for family coaster to have a terrain layout, but not totally unheard of.

    The Japanese seem to have a thing for large, unique family coasters. I can't exactly say that's a bad thing, though. A ride can be plenty of fun without being intense.

      Totally agreed - Japan has a lot of unique but unimaginative family coasters - part of the joy of visiting.

      It's a long themed wacky worm...very odd indeed, but in a strange cool Japanese way!
