Hi Rob., I commented to you once before, as a78 yr. old former self taught airbrush hack who painted vans and bikes about 45 years ago…. Badger and Passche single and double action . I think the Badger was a 150 model. I stopped airbrushing when the van mural fad died out. My wife of 43 yrs. retired from the daily grind a couple of years ago, and was looking for a hobby. I had discovered your You Tube work and decided you should be my inspiration. I have already relearned a lot of my old tricks, but more importantly I am learning some awesome new things from your programs. I asked my wife if she might like to give it a dance. She took me up on the offer and after remodeling a spare bedroom into a studio for two, I bought her a Harder & Steenbeck Infinity . I also got her some paints and a compressor . Long story short, two nights a week we turn on You tube to your show. Watch an episode or two and fire up her new toy and my Evolution. I’m giving her and myself lessons from Dread. Thanks again friend! P.s…… wife absolutely needs to know where you hail from?
@@dougcoolidge9713 hi that's great news thank you for showing support with the channel really appreciate that 🙏 I'm a Leicester lad originally but moved To essex to be with my wife
Great vid I'm so glad you started with water. New painters often start with alco thinners and flow improvers/drying retarders that change the drying time and cause a host of problems for them. Also another top tip from you for new painters to build a mix/recipe book for paints. It's so important.
Great information, your idea of using a stainless steel hex nut as an agitator is genius. I used the 5.5 mm balls in my small bottles, and they stopped the paint from dispensing.
Dred you Are excellent, very straight forward and good learning skilles for me as a total newbie. Question, what do the ISO when mixing and also the flow additiver, never heard of it here i Denmark. Thank` for a channel I can't resist to look at every day now.
Thanks Rob for excellent info I’ve been down to Airbrush Supplies today and had chat and came out with a Evo 2024 and the little compressor you reviewed….just had a play with some black ink followed your guidelines and love it…..so glad I watched your vids many thanks…..
Great video again. Going to start index my paints like those cards just to have them as reference. Btw. When you say Iso I guess you mean isoprop alcohol. What percentage of iso do you use?
Rob, quick question. Have you ever tried mummy inks or dr Phil inks? I find they work as well as FW but abit pricey. The pigment on mummy seem more refined
@dredfxcustompaint I bought mummy and Dr Phil on Amazon. I really think you would like mummy. Comes in many colors also. The dr Phil seems more transparent using same thinning recipient you use but the mummy seems more opaque than fw. My reason for stating a more refined pigment. They both come in pipette type glass bottle as fw but my mummy were purchased in plastic. Give the black mummy a go. I'd bet a penny you will be extremely satisfied with this ink.
You can also buy the mummy in premixed shading Grey's. Comes in a set of five Grey's from very light to almost black. There's also a set of blacks from basic black to very very black
Following your advise; I am going to get an Ultra paint brush but they don't specify the size of the connector that goes to the air brush itself. There are many confusing sizes available. Can you help. Thank you. I swear I will never use cheap paint.
@@Christiane069 hi if you go for the new ULTRA 2024 you get the connector on the brush all you would need is one of these To go to your compressor see link below www.everythingairbrush.com/product/ab-21-highly-flexible-1-8-meter-braided-rubber-air-hose/

So whats the ratio for FW ink 50 ink , 30 water , 20 iso? Its hard to see in the video. Think im gone start of with FW ink. And mine compressor is deliverd what a beauty i must say. 👍🏻 and quiet
@dredfxcustompaint runs good I did the test with 15 and 10 psi. I also did only with 2 drops of water and without iso. Fw black ink I'm using.. isn't that turned out a darker black without the iso? I also did a test but then with 2 drops vallejo thinner and not the iso 99,9 alcohol. With the alcohol it allso looks like the paper is getting softer. I allso bought fw white ink.. was thinking cool for the highlights.. but how you spray the white wasn't hardly visible 😂 Btw 10 drops iso you use the alcohol right?
Hello, how are things going? I wanted to ask you about iwata cm-sb2.
