How touching and soothing! During this epidemic and self isolation has brought fear and grief, this music will happens to one fell on his or her kneel and plead for His mercy and listening to all day.
This brief Mass movement is one of the supreme achievements of Renaissance polyphony, and is one of choral music's greatest moments. One really feels that God is expressing His solace and His healing balm through William Byrd's voice. The tragedy is that this music is so rarely heard; so few choirs are going to present music with this sort of 3 part voicing.
I want this music to be played by my lawyer in his office as he gathers my beneficiaries for the reading of my last will and testament, where they will discover that I croaked flat broke and that there are just remnants of my junk and stuff to fight over and distribute.
@@choirboyfromhell1 Upon rewatching I have noticed that the tenor's have a b flat marked in bar 21, so I'll assume that the B at 2:00 is meant to be natural and that the editors made a mistake and forgot to add it.

Or church choir (10 singers) is singing it this Sunday (Palm Sunday). It is glorious.

Is the first note of the tenor written wrong? It is a B-flat in my score, and is sung her as a B-flat, but written a C.
You are absolutely right; it should be a Bb.
For have i not chosen you, the twelve? Yet one of you is a sinner
2:00 Tenor sings a B natural rather than flat, I wonder what Byrd wrote.
Thank you! I saw that as well and said CDPL goof or what!
And the first tenor note on measure/bar 11, was sung as a Db, which is probably correct.
