My 2nd Generation System Six 60cm (Dura Ace Non-Hi Mod) weighs a whopping 23.6 lbs and is a tank but does pretty well in semi rolling hills here in my area of south central Pa. I also have a Cannondale Evo (Hi-Mod) for the bigger hills. I might add that I've had it for a little over a year now and it's got a LOT of miles put on it in that one year timeframe. Seems like a great bike aside from it being extremely heavy but from the pros vs cons you do save on output wattage due to its aerodynamic features.
I've had mine for 2 years now and have roughly 6,000 miles on it. I absolutely love it. Its a bit on the heavy side but overall I love it! Wish there were accommodations for a tool kit. I'd love to switch mine over to Di2. I've went to a larger rear cassette for climbing and put new brake pads on it.
Great Video! I have made similar experience on my SystemSix (same Dura-Ace mechanical model). In the end, how much did you spend on the upgrades (excluding the wheels)?
@@antiman1677 54.runs very nice and strong. I've got the hollowgram notts handlebars and stem on also. Not the one it came wih as it looked dreadful. So now it's the same as the high end mod cannondale sytermix bikes.byt the purple and black one di2. 2020 model is 8. 4.or 5 as l waded it in the shop. Hey @Matt, i am considering buying this bike as well. On the Cannondale Website this Bike is 7.8kg (with ultegra DI2 and the Hollowgram Wheelset). In this video your bike has other wheels and a different bar and stem. Does your bike wheigh 7.4kg with paddles and bottle cages?
Can't find an up to date weight, but I can say that when it was new and with very different parts it was 7.990kg. It is probably more than 7.4kg with cages, but not 100% sure.
As a fairly light rider 55kg and use to riding a 6.5kg bike (pedals/cages/mounts) how do you think changing to something which is approx 2kg more (for a mid range areo bike) will have an effect on riding?
Well I took this over a Specialized S-Works Tarmac at 6.8kg to the Alps for the Tour du Mont Blanc which has 8400m of climbing. I'm 62-64kg and it was brilliant, no regrets.
How’s the sizing in this bike? I have a giant defy that’s 55.5cm from crack to the top of the seat tube. Would you recommend sizing up to a 56 or down?
How do you find the gap between the top of the forks and the frame, given there looks a big open gap when you turn the bars etc. does it retain water when out in the rain or cleaning as doesn't look like there's anything to stop it going down what looks a big gap, plus looks like nowhere for it to drain if it does?
168cm, bit shorter than you. Inside leg 76cm. Do prefer a longer front than many similar height. Also consider the seat post used. I will soon switch to one with less layback, to move further forward.
Great review. Great upgrades. I think your front tire is mounted backwards.
Thanks Matt. Literally looking to get a new one this week... Di2 so helps to have a "real world" review

Much neater with the cables hidden away.
Nic Stoker love this color scheme but i agree di2 way to go on these aero bikes. I love the clean integration look

The parts have been transferred from another bike. But I think net cost of DA di2 and selling DA mechanical will be ~£1000.
Wen you said yours was 7. 4.wheight.well I've got the same bike and mines 8.1.but with peddles 8.6
Mitch Hughes frame size?

Mitch Hughes thats really odd. My 56cm 2018 dura ace mechanical weights around 8kg with bottle cages, pedals and so on
Would you look at doing Caad13 review as not a great of independent reviews out there
hey,i wanna know your Castelli saddlebag is in small size or large size

Difficult to gauge as I have no ridden a Defy for a long time. But in Giant I am a M, in Cannondale a 54cm.
What gearing did you use for the Alps

No problems noticed at all. It's only a very small gap/hole, not the full section under the fork that you might think.
Sooooo, you changed.....
The handlebars, the wheels, the stem, the seat, the gearing but other than that....... its the same? Nice
The wheels on the bike there was a temporary change, the bike is still using the standard KNOT 64 wheels.
And yours is a 54 inch frame I can pick one up new for 3700. Is it worth the cash
54cm yes. Only you can decide on value, but depending on spec it is a great bike that I enjoy riding.
Are the knot 64 wheels compatible with other bike frames?
Assuming the same axles, then yes. They will come with 100x12mm front and 142x12mm rear axles.
What height are you pal. Was looking at getting 54 and I’m 5ft 8
168cm, bit shorter than you. Inside leg 76cm. Do prefer a longer front than many similar height. Also consider the seat post used. I will soon switch to one with less layback, to move further forward.
Any BB issues ?
None yet. Hopefully never will.
What is the real max tire clearance ? Is there room for a real 32mm tire ?
No, 32mm would be too big and to be honest, it's not a bike designed to take or benefit from such wide tyres.
A Cycling what would you recommend¿ I like using gp5000 in 28’s. Would those work you think? or stick to 25’s?
@@richardstoffel6585 personally I'd stick to 25c if using the Hollowgram wheels as they will size up.
Front tyre is the wrong way round .....
Much better this way round. At least 20w saved...
Ok✌🏻
Seatpost is the same... seriously 😂
Cannondale make several seatposts to fit with different off-sets.
