i think starting a race at 7pm and ending it at 10pm due to a shower is insanity. If youre starting a Nascar race at 7pm you should worst case scenario be expecting to still be racing at 1am, starting at 7 and calling it at 10 is tampering, by literal definition it wouldnt have been over when they called it dry. Embarrassing night for Nascar and anyone who disagrees needs to go watch Max win that F1 title.

The highlights this year constantly have 10 or 20 seconds of the video that's repeated in the middle. That never happened in previous years so I don't get the reasoning. Surely they watch the video before posting it. Even skipping thru the vid, you can't miss when they do that. Listen to when Jr talks about the 5 and 12 dragging eachother back. You'll hear it twice since they looped that part. 6:12 is the start of the part that is repeated.

I feel like Atlanta's superspeedway racing is a little less of a crapshoot than Daytona and Talladega.
If I was dictator of NASCAR, Daytona goes back to July 4th, Talladega goes to the cutoff (perfect race for one last desperate gambit to get in), and Atlanta goes to the playoffs.
That said if I was dictator of NASCAR I might just remove the playoffs.

Jimmy J was a great example of the old way of driver discovery working flawlessly.. there are 100s of drivers just waiting at their local tracks who would out drive 75% of the current field.. sad to see a fat wallet buy it’s way in

  • @LegendaryOldwarrior

I haven't really looked into this, but is there a reason why Nascar can't do what F1 does and have water tires? That is something I always wondered about. It would add even more strategy to the race like F1 does. Do you put them on now or wait? Do you put inters on or full wets? I think it would add so much more to Nascar especially because a lot of their races either get delayed until the next day or end because of rain. I am guessing it is something to do with the grip and the car you are using. Stock car vs F1 car. Not sure though.

    • @Breakinloosems

So they have rain tires but if they race in the rain running this close and with the turns having so much banking it would be to dangerous for them to race also in NASCAR when they use the rain tires it only on road courses. So yeah too dangerous

The tires are soft and smooth specifically for ovals and apparently it takes getting used to the difference when using rain tires. They experimented with em in the 90s and the complaints are part of why it was dropped. They're testing rain tires with better results for what it's worth.

Listening to Gibbs spotter tell him "he don't know any better" in reference to Chastain is funny. Because clearly Gibbs is the best and has never been involved in issues with other drivers and teammates. He's never been pointed at for being the cause of problems by other drivers, spotters, commentators, etc. Spotters are the best best friend possible. Well it's been a few years since I've done this. This season has been a joke nascar is a joke so I'm out. If you are loving this kind of racing please please please continue to love it I'm not taking a dig at you. I'm unhappy with what I'm seeing this season. This is my feeling about the sport I have watched the last 30 plus years maybe next year will be better.

Why do you direct all of this at me instead of the guy who started this conversation in the first place? The guy who said he likes it when Kyle Larson has problems. The cars people drive make "statements" about that person. Many, many of us car guys think the styling of the Prius is ugly and feminine, therefore most true car guys would be embarrassed to be seen in one. I know I would. BTW I did not see the post where you called me ignorant.

They would have lost the track completely with the night of rain. All to spend hours on end getting it prepped for a 90 something lap sprint.
