In this video I’m only focused on Joseph Duclos handbags. In a later video I’ll talk about their other products like jewellery, gifts, perfume and their special order bag service.
I have waited for this video and I have been satisfied. Thank you for all the cutaways that showed the bag instore and on the body. Definitely on my wishlist now. I agree its very much like the Celine 16 which I also love!
Honestly, the Joseph Duclos Diane (both messenger and the top handle variations) has become THE dream bag for me. Beyond exquisite craftsmanship Hermes who? Thank you for such an amazing review of this dream bag!
I discovered JD last year and I would've LOVED to purchase a bag from them if they were in my price range for bags. The Saint-Clair is within reach but I have other priorities for now like furnishing our first house 😆 Maybe one day for a milestone ☺️
I have been to the store in Paris after discovering this brand from your channel Anseu and I am so glad that I came across this brand. I have been a huge fan and a follower of Ramesh which led me to pursue Moynat bags for several years. Joseph Duclos resonate with what I identify as luxury. The store in Paris was wonderful and the brand manager was sweet enough to take me around the store for about an hour. We spoke about fashion, travelling and what the brand embodies. I have heard that Ramesh often comes around in the store to chat with the customers but he himself is a rather quiet and laid back. I have my eyes on few bags from this brand and it would be a dream to visit the store again to purchase one for myself!
Dear Anesu, this was a wonderful review, I really love that you go into the history, it always put a nice perspective on what we are investing in. I am not much into ornate buckles, I am more attracted to a minimalist style, but I have to admit these handbags are just gorgeous!
Hello! You are welcome I think it’s important to talk about the history so people really know what they are buying into. I like the minimalist look like you too but there is something special about the Diane buckle! Can’t wait to see how things develop for JD.
Thank you for the very comprehensive review. I have been interested with the brand for a short time now but I don’t see a lot of reviews. I saw a Diane L20 All Black Lizard with Orange interior and I fell in love.
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your channel and the well-considered information you present. Thank you! The weight of a bag is important to me due to physical constraints. The Diane bag looks to be very heavy with all of the brass details. How did you find it in the hand?
Thank you your comment made my month! Funny you should say that that’s the first thing I thought when I saw the brass detailing. It’s a comfortable weight it didn’t feel abnormally weighted in the hand and easy to manoeuvre. Considering it was empty and then if you fill it with essentials it won’t be heavy but still a manageable weight. When I think of heavy I think of a birkin and not the Diane.
Thank you, Anesu! Well-organized, informative, and elegantly presented video, as always. The Diane messenger in chestnut is on my wishlist. Amusingly enough, so is the Celine soft 16 in medium. While Celine can’t compare with JD, I do appreciate that they use nice leathers and the branding is minimal. Or it was, before they started slapping the giant triomphe symbol on everything. Sigh…🙂
Anesu, thanks again for such informative content…I love this handbag…simple elegance…it has made my purchase list along with the Colombo…can’t wait to learn of their additional products and bag service
Thanks for this very detailed review. It was worth the wait, I am officially in love and this will definitely on my list of must haves. So very nice!!! 💞
Thank you for this excellent bag review. I have never heard of this brand before and I find so very understated and gorgeous. Excellent in depth commentary, you know your stuff. I’m going to Paris in May and I will add this store on my list to check out. Merci!……….🤗🇨🇦
I’ve binge watched your videos. Excellent informative content. It’s hard to find videos of Joseph Duclos. Thank you for covering the brand. Is their Lectoure tote worth buying? Is it superior to the Moreau? I was also considering the Valextra soft bucket medium bag. Thoughts? Thank you!
Thank you for watching my content! You have mentioned three very different products that are truly like lemons and oranges. Lectoure is rectangular in shape and a suede like material. Moreau leather and trapeze like shape, reversible and calfskin leather. Valextra is leather, open with a small zippable pouch included. Decider is how much stuff do you need to put in the tote and how often will you use the bag? Occasional use i would go with lectoure, everyday Moreau a superior product to the Valextra tote and more robust leather.
Another great video! Very informative and educational, as always!! These bags are art. Style question - your sneakers in the video - can you share who they are by? Love your style!
Thank you for introducing me to this beautiful brand. On the numbering, how exactly does that work? Is it that they only produce a certain number of bags at a time, or they only produce a certain number of bags and once they are sold, that’s it? I’v wondered if it is a situation where if I miss the current inventory, that’s it, I’m out of luck. Also, any thoughts on the longevity of the brand itself? I’m curious to see how it will fare in the future.
I think we are all curious! The hope is they stay open for our lifetimes and going forward. They have all the components to be hugely successful but it all hinges on service and raising and maintaining brand awareness I think. Let’s see x
Hi Anesu, thanks for this video. I’m about to order the smaller Diane. Could you please tell me about the weight of the Diane- The small and the larger Diane weight. Thanks so much. I truly enjoyed your video, I’ve been searching for more information on JD and yours is so informative! 😍♥️🙏🏼
Thanks for the video. Are there brands that have handbags priced above their “luxury” category? For example, a brand priced as super premium but the craftsmanship would be considered premium.
@@SoAnesu lovely bags, I’m admiring the Diane bag from the moment they launched it. I would probably consider it if I were not so scared of the smooh natural calf and the price ;) with regards to Goyard, I find their canvas bags flimsy looking (based on online info at least, haven’t seen it IRL) and don’t understand the hype around it. Actually I don’t like canvas prints in general (with except of Gucci supreme). However, I do have a Saigon pm all leather (taurillon & clamecy) and a Moynat Loulou. Both of them are hand sewn with contrast stitching and beautiful, but I find the stitching on Goyard better executed and the glazing more consistenty applied and thin (plus in the same color as the leather, which I much prefer aestetically). So it might be a case by case discussion as well…
The smooth calf skin is a tricky one. You either love it or hate it no in between! The Lou Lou was discontinued a few years ago. I can’t remember the details anymore. It very much is a case by case but Goyard bags are tricky to really look at in store.
Every time I think I am narrowing down my list of wants you intro a brand that I want to add to my list lol! Thank you. Waiting on pins and needles for a serapian video with your thoughts on the bags. Also what do you think of goyard quality? I’m torn as I heard the monogram can come off and for the money I would not want to invest if that happens. Also what are your thoughts on the Hermes Picotin? I understand that is a intro bag to the brand but is it worth it? :) Thanks Anesu!!
I don't know as much as Anesu, but I would totally go for a Moreau, Moynat or even Fauré le Page over Goyard for a tote. I just find the Goyard totes floppy and flimsy (plus the straps are short for me, but I'm very tall).
By the end of the year you will be so confused you have to bite the bullet and buy as there are more brands to come. Serapian won’t be for a few weeks yet but it’s on its way. Goyard’s quality is tricky I’ll go into it in the next couple of videos when I’m talking about totes. The picotin is fine are you buying the shape or the brand Hermès?
In this video I’m only focused on Joseph Duclos handbags. In a later video I’ll talk about their other products like jewellery, gifts, perfume and their special order bag service.
Bags are numbered hence super exclusive?! Thats a real win!
Sure is! And with the Saint-Clair they only produce 10 of each colour-way and numbered!
I have waited for this video and I have been satisfied. Thank you for all the cutaways that showed the bag instore and on the body. Definitely on my wishlist now. I agree its very much like the Celine 16 which I also love!
Glad you are satisfied and I hope you enjoy your bag when you get it.

All in good time you will get there.

Good to hear. I’m glad to hear you had a good and I’m looking forward to the day you own one of their beauties!

Your channel is amazing! I really am in love with this brand.
Thank you so much!
14:20 that Saint-Clair bag in Aubergine is so precious and the canvas strap takes it to the next level
It’s a beauty!
Thank you for the very comprehensive review. I have been interested with the brand for a short time now but I don’t see a lot of reviews. I saw a Diane L20 All Black Lizard with Orange interior and I fell in love.
It’s a new brand it will take time for reviews to come through but stay tuned I have more Duclos content on the way.

You are welcome. Welcome to the community!

Lol poor you I think the giant Triomphe is here to stay!
I like the chestnut colour.
Thank you you are too kind!

It’s a fab brand. Thank you for watching.

Deciding which leather to buy for L20, tempo, heritage, or harmonie? Afraid of scratches and stains.
Tempo
Can you talk about Roger Vivier as I like this design but not sure about quality and value for money. This appears to reasonable price for some of us

Thank you Kristen! They are Church’s Mirfield trainers.
@@SoAnesu another new to me brand!

You are welcome.
A number is written very discreetly on the inside of each bag to enable the brand to track down when/where/who made the bag.
I think we are all curious! The hope is they stay open for our lifetimes and going forward. They have all the components to be hugely successful but it all hinges on service and raising and maintaining brand awareness I think. Let’s see x
Are the Diane bags heavy? Interested but not much information online. I’m 100lb, and concerned it would be heavy on my shoulder.
No they are not I’ll get the weights for you…
I was curious to get your very valuable opinion on L20 or L26. What’s your recommendation in general?
I would be more included to go with the bigger size. More options and it’s not too big. Better value for your money.
Hi Anesu, thanks for this video. I’m about to order the smaller Diane. Could you please tell me about the weight of the Diane- The small and the larger Diane weight. Thanks so much. I truly enjoyed your video, I’ve been searching for more information on JD and yours is so informative! 😍♥️🙏🏼
Thank you. Unfortunately i don’t know the various weights please direct your query to the brand they are responsive.
Thanks for the video. Are there brands that have handbags priced above their “luxury” category? For example, a brand priced as super premium but the craftsmanship would be considered premium.
Thank you for watching. Without even thinking about it Goyard!
