First, Thank You for the detailed research, and to the extent of speaking with him in person; Thank you. ❤…He learned from 3 greats from Hermes. Not 1, from 3! I plan on visiting the store some time in the future, but I did purchase the Diane clutch, and I am in love. She is truly a gorgeous piece. You may want to look at Ethan K. They offer a lot of customization and one of their classic bags, the Alla bag, have this patented back pocket which is really cool. I don’t have Kelly bags but the Alla bag looks similar to mini Kelly in shape and size IMO

      @@k1ra_12 I see the Alla is 19cm, rather small and only size available online. I have a Faure Le Page parade 23 with back pocket, and looking for something larger. Love the Josep Duclos 26 in pink (assuming they will be adding pink soon like the clutch), only if it were functional. I don’t like needing 2 hands to open-close and no quick access to phone. If it’s too fussy, it’s not longer a luxury experience for me.

      I got what you mean by the back pocket after looking at the Parade 23. The Alla bag does have larger sizes, but yes it’s only the 19cm ones listed in the shop. And I don’t think it’s the same type of back pocket you are looking for. Theirs is more like a back opening.
      Now that you mentioned it, I really don’t remember seeing bags with usable back pockets. weird.

    What an absolute beautifully researched treasure trove of information this video is, Anesu! Well done! Nair's extensive history within the industry is so compelling, and the fact he jumped from Hermes, to Moynat, to Duclos... that man is a true top designer!
    While I adore his designs at Duclos... I'm not convinced they really suit my personal style. They are gorgeous wearable art pieces nonetheless! That being said, his Gabrielle line at Moynat feels so timeless, well-crafted, and chic to me. The immaculately designed utilitarian 'M hardware' was top notch too. Haha probably a bit controversial to say... but Nair's Gabrielle clutch >>>>> Hermes' mini Kelly/Pochette imo.

The Heritage L26 in blue is on my list to purchase. I was wondering if, you have seen it in person and how do you like it? I am also very curious to know what it says on the sides (on the metal plates) on either side of the bag? I know it says the brand name on the bottom. Just had a quick glance at the Joseph Duclos website and whilst I love the simple design of the actual bags and can almost see the quality of the leather ( throught the internet) and craftsmanship, I unfortunately didn't prefer the clasp design. I found it to be overbearing against the same gold color they have on the handles on the bags.
    I however do love the work he did on the Gabrielle at Moynat, that's suttle elegance for me.

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  10 месяцев назад

      Initially I also thought, from the pictures before I had physically seen the bag, that the clasp looked overbearing but it will be interesting to hear if you still think the same once you have seen it in person.
      All of what he did at Moynat is wonderful but the Gabrielle Clutch always makes me smile when ever I see it.

    Hello Anesu. I love your channel. You have a charming, je ne sais quoi. Thank you for providing thoughtful content. I thought of purchasing DuClos a bag as the design does strike me as having a wonderful balance of classy and modern. However, I can’t bring myself to purchase bags with glazed edges anymore, especially ones that have the main flap glazed as it will experience high levels of flex. It’s just a simple matter of physics that even the highest quality glazing will crack with use. I have a Moynat Gabrielle which has been holding up exceptionally well with glaze, I admit. I am considering purchasing a Launer bag as every edge has turned edges. I appreciate the DuClos style but the Launer edges require more craftsmanship. It’s well known turned edges require a more involved production and skill level than glaze. What’s your thought on this? In the 90s more bags had turned edges and I have a hard time finding brands that will invest in creating them. Please feel free to express your thoughts on this matter. Thank you. Mary

    • @SoAnesu
      @SoAnesu  11 месяцев назад

      Thank you Mary.
      The Moynat Gabrielle is “holding up exceptionally well “ produced by the same designer as Joseph Duclos but he has made the Duclos bags even better the edge coating will outlive you! Launer and Joseph Duclos / Moynat are world’s apart and can’t be compared even though Launer has the ‘better’ edges. Launer’s hardware could be better and I’m sure they are aware it’s something they need to address. The construction is good but leather and hardware doesn’t compare to the other two. On balance look else where Atelier Renard would be a better alternative for turned edges than Launer. But the Duclos bags are worth the money they simply won’t disappoint.

    Dear Anesu, I visited the store a few days ago, and I’m rather disappointed in how pushy the sales team was.
    Every time I said I was going to leave, they kept putting bags in my hands, making me try them on, when I was not interested in anything and really wanted to leave (“ooh try 1 more, and oh let’s take some photos, ooh I know for sure you will be dreaming about this one specific color tonight, our clients buy 1 bag and keep coming back for more and more, some have built a collection of many pieces already in the past couple of years, colors are limited so we can’t promise you this one will be there next time etc, etc, etc....” ).
    We had some nice small talk, but keeping me at all cost in the store, and making me try bags no matter what was very off putting, especially since I said I had to go.
    The cherry on top was insisting on getting my contact information (even after I politely declined), and asking for more information. What?
    I told myself “this is what salespeople do nowadays”, but was reminded by visiting other luxury stores in the same street that actually no, as these other stores gave me breathing room, information I was interested in (none pushed down my throat), and never harassed me for my details.
    No sales person should make you feel pushed, rushed, using FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) techniques to sell you a bag.
    We had a lovely chat overall, and the store is beautiful (although no bag caught my eye or heart), but this brand is a solid NO for me.
    The experience was pleasant, until it became unpleasant when they wouldn’t let me leave. This was not a luxury experience.
    Thank you for your lovely quality videos, and all the work and love you put into them ❤
