    I am looking for a "universal" striping device in terms of a clip-on rather than all this dealing with fixing and screwing stuff together! I don't mind that sometimes, but when I am working on my lawn that is enough work for me.

    Isn’t the trailing flap suppose to be out from under the mower? Looks like it’s trapped underneath. I also noticed the old flaps you swapped out were torn apart in the center likely from the rotary blades hitting them. Maybe that was affecting to cut.

  • @Striperman

    Great job on the installation and review PJ. My 2 cents on the two. Having the Big League lawn striping kit for 16 years now I am a little partial. Having made mods to all my manual reel mowers and rotary with added rollers, wheels and etc. I like fixed kits as opposed to the ones that you just attached and have too much movement such as the Lawn Striper and others similar to that design. Weight is essential to achieving good stripes. Either way they all stripe and guess it depends on what people can and are willing to spend. Nice job.

    • @GirLzLawn
      @GirLzLawn  2 года назад +1

      Wisdom from the Striperman himself! Awesome. Yep, it just comes down to personal preference really. I was never comfortable with the weight of the Big League on my plastic deck Ego, but it was just fine on the metal deck Toro. My preference is the Lawn Stryper for my Toro mowers at this point. It just handles the turns better for me. The Ego striper is perfect for the Ego Mowers, as it feels like a natural extension and it has been engineered specifically for those mowers.

    Thanks for the review.
    After your review I went and bought the Ego striping kit for my Ego Select Cut XP but I'm having problems.
    The mower becomes harder to push and leave a lots of uncut blade of grass when the kit install, this is my second time using it.
    It's the same with yours?

    • @GirLzLawn
      @GirLzLawn  2 года назад +2

      Hi Bobby. So I got really used to pushing forward on my Ego even without the stripe kit. The thing with that mower is that it’s light because it is made of plastic and therefore it lifts a lot. Any extra weight is going to require a little more effort to push. It’s the price we pay for those stripes, unfortunately. I have actually experienced the mower missing blades before and after the stripe kit. Other mowers do that as well.

      @@GirLzLawn Thanks for replying so quickly
      With out the striping kit, using the high-lift blade I rarely have any uncut blade of grass, but it a different story when I used the mulching blades .
      With the striping kit it really does not matter what type of blade I use there's always so many uncut ways of grass.

      Thank you for the feedback on your experience with the XP unit. Would you please clarify that when you say the mower becomes harder to push, do you mean you push the XP manually or the Self-Propelled drive is having a harder time driving it? LM2156Sp is 54lb + extra weight of the High Lift blade is 0.355lb and the 10.0Ah battery is 7.4lb with the total weight of 61.755lb. I am using a Peak Power LM2142SP (with full SelectCut High Lift Dual blade, fan & flange assembly parts) which has the same 8.3 ft-lb torque brushless motor (when using one 10.0Ah battery according to XP spec.). LM2142SP is 62.6lb + 1.292lb (extra SelectCut with High Lift dual blade + 2-in-1 flange/fan + washer weight vs factory Standard blade + flange + fan +washer) and running with two 10.0Ah which would be 7.4lb x 2 = 14.8lb with total of 78.69lb. I am interested in the Striping kit; however, not with any cost of the cut quality. With the two 10.0Ah in the dual battery bay the mower hold itself down without any front wheel lift pretty well and does produce very even cut that produces an average striping result with the factory flap (a bit wider than the XP). with a 78.69lb unit, I am hoping it will not cause front wheel lift as I often concisely not resting my hands on the handle bar.

    • @GirLzLawn
      @GirLzLawn  2 года назад +1

      @@Jeo-What Personally I see a little difference in effort whether manually pushing or using the self propel. The striping kit is 15lbs so you can expect to feel a little difference.

      @@Jeo-What Hi George,
      Pushing the mower manually with the striping kit is harder .
      I just mowed my lawn for the third time since I got the kit and found the best way to get a decent result it's by using the self-propelled with the high-lift blade.
      Tthe high-lift blade is the way to go

  • @Jeo-What
    @Jeo-What 2 года назад +1

    Thank you for sharing our experience with us with this EGO striping kit. I see the cutting result you are having and with my experiment on different EGO blades think the High Lift blade will help a lot. LM2135 is 55.3lb (1.3lb heavier than XP according to EGO spec??) + extra weight of the High Lift blade would be 0.355lb and the 7.5Ah battery is 6.3lb with the total weight of 61.955lb. With the two 10.0Ah in the dual battery bay the mower hold itself down without any front wheel lift pretty well (can't wait to put two 12.0Ah batteries in it) and produces very even cut that gives an average striping result with the factory flap (a bit wider than the SelectCut models). with a 78.69lb unit, I am hoping it will not cause front wheel lift as I often concisely not resting my hands on the handle bar. I checked the flap design on the LM2142SP and see that I do have to do the wheel disassemble process to remove the screws on both side of the housing where the empty wholes on each side of the upper plastic housing of the SelectCut is located or.... just use a good pair of scissor to trim down 3/8" of the width on each side of the rubber flap and be done with it! I am still deciding and thank you again for showing the striping result and the comparison with 3rd party striping kid.
