We saw a lovely 1948 Land Rover - we saw heritage, an icon. But - shock - Land Rover has thrown it away - amazing - when they stopped production of the Defender 3 years ago. The sales of their suburban SUV's is founded on the heritage of those old Landies. Landcruiser, G-Wagen, Jimny have wisely continued and built on their (shorter) history - kudos. The Defender threw away 68 years of valuable heritage. Jeep have re-done their Wrangler - kudos. Shame about the original Land Rover, and the latter day Defender...
These aren't cars....these are something like.....feelings...to whom you often share..... For me Land Rover is a soulmate....LOVE YOU LAND ROVAH....LOVE YOU ALOT....!
very touching, every Land Rover is on a life story, my father bought a Land in 1970, he crossed the Sahara desert and Iran, me and my brother spent every summer and weekend on it with our parents, for all my adult life, I've dreamed to drive his Land, recently he left us and he gave me the Land, now I can drive it, but I dream him.
Fantastic story. Thanks for sharing. The Series 1 , 2 , 2A ,and 3 had a personality of their own. They were and still a part of the family. Thanks LAND ROVER for making this wonderful lady reunited with and old friend and family member.
That is really special to see one of the original employees with one of the first batch of vehicles they actually helped produce and worked on to build . Would have brought back so many special memories for a really special lady the emotion and joy on her face said it all . Such a travesty that very few vehicle manufacturing companies that were in britain are either in foreign hands or no longer exsist . The birth place of the industrial revolution without britain in its hayday , the masters of modern technology , at the time . Our world as it is today would still be in the stone age .
Very sweet. Incredible how much a part of family the cars of the older generation were. Not like these days where everything is so terribly commoditised.
A symbol of legendary. Yeah, I still love the old style of Land Rover, this version,,,,,including the late 110 and 90 series of Defender. Their image is in my heart when they appears on the street in early days on my home town before 1997, it was Hong Kong. Oh, it is a memory, not anymore.
@@landrover A message from marketing to me from Landrover , Nice try Personal taste maybe. This marketing on line by landrover bringing in the historic stuff has to rate right up there for best marketing on the planet. As the ex owner of a Australian Perentie .........I loved it coolest thing i've ever owned And about to be owner this week maybe of a 1965 series 2 there.s no point in trying to convince me. I'll refrain from telling land rover what i think of the new Defender. I love the old stuff. hope it sells well for yea :)

2020 Land Rover Defender.
Not sure where the new defender fits in with this lot.
New DEFENDER will carry on their adventurous spirit - it's a culmination of all the hard work put in by people like Dorothy over the years.
