Currently being forced to switch from ADO to Jira as other areas of the business use Jira. We've got about 60 pipelines setup on ADO and years of ticket history. We've used Jira with Zephyr for testing some projects as a soft test, and I've found it so painful, yet others who use Jira seem to absolutely love it.
Thanks for this. I'm very glad you went into the observation about how Jira doesn't follow Scrum/Agile concepts and that Azure Devops does. That alone is the most encouraging detail in favor of Azure. It drives me up a wall that Jira breaks every best practice for Scrum.
The grass is always greener…. Using ado now and gave it a fair shot for over a year but still missing Jira and confluence every day. It definitely seems like this is from the perspective who has used Jira a lot but not really used ADO yet and learned how much is missing once you scratch below the surface
Hi, I am trying to get my organization to adopt Azure DevOps, and I was looking forward to hearing more about your experience with DevOps. Unfortunately, you haven't posted any video about DevOps since the current one. Any plans to do so in the near future?
I still have plans. I just have so many Jira/Agile videos that it's been taking me a really long time to get through my backlog. I'll try to bump those videos up in priority.
I use Azure DevOps and Confluence right now... and occasionally people will say "oh, Jira does this better"... I effing hate Confluence - it's so unnecessarily slow (it's just serving markdown files, at the end of the day) and the search sucks... So, that's what makes me not want to go all-in on Atlassian. Plus, like you said... having everything integrated in DevOps (work items, code, deployments, testing, artifacts) is awesome. Stakeholder licenses are awesome. Also, Azure DevOps is insanely customizable (you can do just about anything you can imagine - automation, backlog customization, etc) and while the REST API for ADO is poorly documented, it's super powerful and can help you automate a lot of stuff.
Why don't you use the ADO Wiki instead of Confluence? I love the ADO Wiki! We share everything there. It means we can truly use ADO as the 'Single Source of Truth', with our Wiki including documented processes, training materials, release notes, etc, etc.
Yeah. I started my career with TFS and I hated Jira at first. . . I just like the way MSFT implements it better. Not sure why Jira is just so freaking popular.
Great talk Alex! Here is the interview, where we talk with Alex about topics related to Jira integrations, and migrations. Also considering Jira, and Azure DevOps - ruclips.net/video/rWzwALREdCA/видео.html

haha. I guess there's a reason why Jira is still #1!!
Thank you we spend goodly amounts each month on Jira. I will for sure look at this. Thank you. Very nice detail and look forward to more videos.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks Alex. I think we will take ADO for a spin sometime soon as well :)
Let me know if you like it. I'm going to be using it a lot more.

Thanks much, wish we all can swtch to EOD

This really does encourage me to want to fold in more ADO into my life.

I've used both Jira and ADO as a product owner. My short take: HATE Jira. LOVE ADO. ;)

Great video as usual.. Any plans of releasing more ADO videos..
It's on my list of videos to make. Based on the demand I'm seeing, I think I'm going to start prioritizing those videos.
Great video!
Currently a sales guy learning more about these technologies and this was very informational as far as an intro to Azure DevOps.
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed it.
can you pls make separate video on devops
I’ve been meaning to do this, but I just have so many Atlassian videos that I haven’t been able to make time for anything else.
@aptechtechtutorials Does Azure have a reporting feature for sprints and issues like Jira?
