      Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it. So for me, the Touchless one is better for winter months at 5% PIR. I normally use a PH neutral foam in the summer months. I think personally that Touchless is slightly better than AF. Be interested to see your thoughts when you do try out Touchless 👍

    Love this product!!
    They have made a new updated touchless recently in 2024 which is twice the strength so less product needed in your snowfoam lance, its only availble in 1L bottle at the moment but will soon be available for 5L
    To know if your getting the new double strength one you need to see the instructions as the bottles look identical , the new one maximum dilution is 2% not 5% like the old one.
    Im guessing the old version will soon stop production when they have sold out since they havent renamed it.

    I use BH auto foam. Touchless might be very marginally better at dissolving some contaminants and dirt, but it is not really noticeable, and you pay more for touchless.
    Auto foam has been doing the business for me, for many years.
    I tried touchless but I didn't notice any extra cleaning ability compared to auto foam, and in fact, I prefer the actual consistency of the foam with BH auto foam.
    I also use Korrosol, auto wheel, and am about to try out the new traceless.
    One think I noticed, you rinse off the foam from the bottom up.
    I asked a few other detailers and only a few do this, and none of them could give me a reason which made any sense.
    I emailed a couple of snow foam companies, and both of them said snow foams are designed to work with gravity, and should be rinsed from the top down, which is what I had always done anyway.
    I have been detailing for years, and worked as a valeter at a main dealership too.
    Rinsing from the bottom up, just moves crap from the dirtiest part of the car ie the bottom, up onto the cleaner part ie the top.

    • @the_jnlt_channel
      @the_jnlt_channel  11 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for your comment, it's a really good one! I think it's down to personal preference on the snow foams. Both are great and you can't go wrong with either, I just prefer touchless slightly more than Autofoam and over tests it just has worked slightly better for me. So to answer your question regarding bottom to top, there are a few reasons why I do it myself and sorry others couldn't answer why they do it for you. One of the main reasons I do it, is I can see where I have been and that I don't miss any areas of my rinse down as it will show exactly the parts I have prewashed. This is just to minimise leaving any dirt behind. if you pre wash from the top, you could easily miss parts of the prewash as it is washed away at the bottom part of the car (this reason is more of a personal preference one) 2nd reason is rinsing a car from the bottom to the top helps to ensure that any dirt and debris are washed away in a systematic manner. Starting at the bottom prevents dirt from the lower parts of the car from being splashed onto areas that have already been cleaned, the bottom part is the dirtiest and you could spray dirt onto the already pre washed surface. 3rd reason is that I actually did research with the autoglym team and they told me this is the way you should rinse the vehicle after using their snow foams. If you also read the back of the polar blast bottle or online how to use it, it tells you to rinse from bottom to top. Hopefully that helps with some of the reasoning of why I do it. But with detailing, there isn't really a right or wrong way. Do what works for you, it mainly comes down to personal preference 👍

    • @DjNikGnashers
      @DjNikGnashers 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@the_jnlt_channel Thanks for the detailed reply, appreciate it.
      I didn't contact autoglym, nor have I used their foam hence never read that.
      I still don't quite 'get' how rinsing up can prevent dirt from the lower part being splashed on to the clean parts higher up, as it seems basic physics that rinsing upwards is doing exactly that ie moving dirt from the bottom, upwards.
      If I pre wash, lets say with a citrus degreasing cleaner first, I rinse that off before I apply foam. The reason for this, and not 'layering' products as some detailers do, is that I researched a lot into the chemical 'ingredients' of a few products, and unless you know exactly what is in them, and understand the reactions which occur when 'mixing' two products, you can actually very easily cancel out the cleaning properties of both. Lets say you use an acidic TFR or citrus degreaser, then layer a foam on top, many foams are quite alkaline in their ph values, and as such, the two cancel out a lot of the effectiveness of both, becoming more watery with a ph of 7.
      But hey, I am certainly not trying to say I am right, or come across as a know-it-all, far from it my friend, I'm just extremely interested and always wanting to understand these products and how they work alone and together with other products.
      Peace out mate and have a good Christmas.

    • @the_jnlt_channel
      @the_jnlt_channel  11 месяцев назад +1

      No worries at all. I understand what you're saying but it's just my preferred way and that was just some of the reasons. Yeah I totally get that with Products, you don't need loads of different ones as it will affect the products from working how that should. The only time I would top a product with snow foam, is to prevent it drying out in the summer. So like a TFR topped with a ph neutral snow foam. Tbh I'm not a professional, I do it as a hobby but have done a lot of research into what I do before starting RUclips, learnt alot over many year but still am learning every day. I appreciate your comment and I like to hear peoples opinions of detailing, it's a great thing. I'll try tag you this video below, it has Alan from AM details in it and he talks about why you should rinse of bottom to top about 4min into the video he will talk about it ruclips.net/video/NfUU4HZJL7Y/видео.htmlsi=-7doN3jpfWIx5swz

    Nice video. Could i ask what 4% looks like in chemical usage with your set up, just to get an idea. I do realise my set up will be different. I ask because I use Autofoam and it's not far off 1 part chem to 1.5 parts water. BTW, I'm looking at changing from AF this winter and Touchless or Squid Ink Alkafroth are my current choices.

    • @the_jnlt_channel

    • @the_jnlt_channel
      @the_jnlt_channel  6 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for watching! PIR is key for Bilt Hamber products and for them to work efficiently. The normal pH neutral snow foam will be the normally 100ml to 1000ml but won't remove much traffic film. With the BH products via my set up I'm using about 300ml product to 200 ml water which does a full car, this is around the 4% mark and as you can did it's a lot more product then water to be effective at cleaning the car and removing nearly 100% of the dirt 👍
