Nonof Agniveer retained is equal to the intake of erstwhile recruitment. So trust lost because yhe surplus recruits are send out is fallacious. Agniveers address four issues well. 1 large diversion of manpower from core job in AFs. 2 giving more youth, military exposure next best thing to compulsory mil service. 3 AFs get to choose the best who are service minded. 4. Window for the disgruntled in uniform to go back to civil life(40 to 60% amongst the OR are aspiring to go out after initial engagement of 15 yrs. Bipartisan consensus in Military affairs is a joke 😅

Probably, the present government had Islamic fundamentalism and liberal hindu and communist in mind who are raising their heads in Bharat and the rest of the world. Their job was to protect the clumsy Hindus with money but no strength to fight these fundamentalist who are armed to their teeth. Job in hand is to make these youngsters combat ready to say lethargic Hindus. They should be ready to handle small arms and hand to hand fights. If you ask me, the number of entrants should be doubled or even trebled. They shall become like village chowkidars.
