Enjoyed the blog as usual, it was nice to meet you at Somers Wood especially Sabre meeting Fudge, i think they were best of friends. Paul, Sandra & Sabre
Hello Paul, Sandra and Sabre, it was lovely to meet you both and the boys certainly got on well. I showed Jules the video of Sabre that I took! Have a lovely week and hopefully meet you again in the future, Karina and Fudge 🐾
Well done you. A clear, confident and informative blog which will be very useful to new-to-moto-homing whether solo or accompanied. And its always nice to hear where good fish n' chips can be found.
Thank you for covering this topic. I'm an old fart bachelor nearing retirement and getting my pension lump sum. Wishing to tour, the question of motorhome or caravan has been very much in my mind and I think I now know the answer. Thanks again, you are one of my favourite RUclips bloggers.
Thank you and I hope you make the right decision for you 😊 You can always hire a Motorhome for a week or so to try it out before you commit to a purchase 😊 Have a great week, Karina
Good idea on the 1/4 tank of water. I travel solo in a 32 ft Class A in America. The Class A with it's high windows is such a good sense of security. Also not having to get out to go to bed is the best way to ensure a woman's safety. Some days I'm just a little too tired to go beating the tar out of someone. Hehehe I have to tell you this is addictive. You want to stay out there more and more.
It was fab to catch up with you on Somer’s Wood! Useful tips there. Having been a solo caravanner for about 30 years I’d be rubbish at making this video as it’s all second nature to me ;)
Great to see you and you are an amazing solo caravanner. You don’t realise how much easier it is with someone else to help you. You make it look very easy 😊 Have a lovely week and safe travels, Karina and Jules
Enjoyed watching this, you’re a natural on camera and Presented it professionally. I feel confident now that I can tackle this easily by myself so thank you X
What a fab vlog Karina! thanks for sharing I’ve always been a bit dubious about setting up our MoHo on my own without OH but this has been really helpful! 😊
Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this video! I've been wondering how my first trip out will be, and now I won't be so worried. In a few months time I will be buying my first motorhome and living in it full time. It'll be just me & my German shepherd. I've been planning this life change for 2 years, and the one thing I can't preplan for is my first site visit. I feel so much more comfortable having watched your video though! I have also just been to the caravan and motorhome show at the NEC and stayed overnight at Meriden. Had myself a fish n chip dinner too! Really appreciate this type of video. Thank you so much 😁
Oh that is brilliant to hear! You will be fine, just take your time with everything and if you get stuck just ask. Everyone was new to it once…thanks for watching 😊 Karina
That was so useful and really good to know. Used to live in Warwickshire so good to see the old roads. How lovely that you met up with Andrew. Fudge is a love. Love and hugs from me hubby and Lady 🐾🐾
This is absolutely fantastic, thank you so much. I'm going to head over to the UK by myself from Australia and do a winter holiday to see family and friends and a solo trip to the West Country. I'm originally English, from St. Albans and Harpenden in Hertfordshire. I've been living in Adelaide, Australia with my Australian Wife and 20 year old Son since 2001. I';ve been back to the UK maybe 5 or 6 times since leaving but this will be only my second trip by myself and my first trip (in fact my first time ever) hiring a Adrina Sunliving A7ODK Motorhome. This video has been a Godsend but any further tips would be most welcome. The reason I want to do a winter trip is because I had the 40 - 45 degrees summers here in Australia and miss the UK seasons.
Thank you..you will have a great trip and the Sunliving Motorhome is actually made by Adria so is well insulated. The onboard heating system works well in winter too. Book sites with electric hook up otherwise the Motorhome heating and hot water will run off gas and you will quickly use that up. On a night keep a window on the night latch to let some fresh air in as you will get some condensation. That is normal so dont worry about that if the temperature drops down outside. Have a fantastic trip and thanks for watching 😊 If you need any advice my email is herewetow@yahoo.com 😊 Karina
Thank you SO much for this!! When I get my MoHo next year I will be a solo wandering bird but know nothing about setting up etc, this was brilliantly useful and I’ve saved it to watch again nearer the time. Please do more solo videos!
Hi Thanks for a great vid .. I'm now on my own with a dog. And looking to buy a motorhome and travel solo.. its scary not knowing what to buy and what happens with my dog.. I'm sure things will be ok, when I take the plunge. It will be an adventure
I really enjoyed the vlog , hopefully i find the courage to go camping myself some day , as my camper is wasting away on my drive thank you for the encouraging video loved watching 🖐 kind regards Sean
Thank you very helpful I get my small motorhome next week will going solo a lot of the time, I feel less nervous now. I bought a caravan a couple of years ago sold it within a couple of months as felt overwhelmed as new to it all 😪 But now feel a lot more confident and looking forward to my adventures and new chapter 😊
I am sure you will love it Jill. I am away by myself now and have had a great few days in the Motorhome. If you have any questions just get in contact with me 😊 Go for it..Karina
Hi Karina, as always, a great vlog .. who needs blokes around to get in the way :) On the cable .. someone gave me a great tip many years ago, to fold the cable in 1/2 & then wind it onto the spool, this way you only need to wind/unwind it 1/2 as many times :) easy Hope you like the tip
This is a fantastic vlog and I loved watching you away by yourself. As a woman I lack confidence to do these things but I’m inspired by you doing it. Fudge is gorgeous too, he looked to be having a wonderful adventure to that site. I’m looking forward to more trips from you and Jules, Lou x
When you were sat up in the cab of your van , I didnt realise how long the van is , so when you began to set up the electrics , I got quite a shock to see the size of it!
Excellent and very informative one. You are a star. We are just in the process of looking for our first motorhome and your information is very helpful.
Thank you Paul, enjoy your Motorhome hunting, it is quite exciting as we have obviously just been through this ourselves. If you have any questions drop me a message 😊 Karina
The electric cable I had an electrician friend make mine in to 2 so if the power point was close I could just use one or join it back together if needed Karina. It is far easier just having a couple old empty cable spools for winding the cable on to as these handle spools are slow. I will email you a video of my set up once I get my new caravan.
One way around your cable dilemma is to buy a pair of the blue connectors (male and female) and split the cable into 2 lengths - 10m and 15m. That way you have the choice of a 10m, 15m or 25m cable, but might need a waterproof cover for the centre connector if using the 25m length.
The water taps over in Oz are generally 3/4 " but every now & then you encounter a 1/2" one & need the adaptor that comes with the hosepipe & I've put it somewhere very safe & can't find it for at least 1/2 an hour😒.
😂 Yes, I find my bits are right in the bottom of my Motorhome box and there are always four other people waiting for the tap. 😬🤷🏼♀️ Have a lovely week 😊 Karina
Great confidence booster for anyone that wants to go solo, great job. BTW you need one of these, really find ours useful, just a thought if you havn't got one. Just realised I can't share a pic lol, it's an easy filler cap for water 😁
Hi guys, thought I would say a hello ! we have probs watched all your videos from when you first got your Adria and some of them like 5 times now haha !, it's really helped me out with us choosing our next van (I was searching about the Isonzo when we came across your channel) . You even covered the towing aspects in one of your videos as that was a huge concern of mine for our next van 8ft wide etc, we're only 31 and have only been towing a year, looks a great site and only up the road from us, enjoy your stay , keep up the good content !
Hi Ryan and thank you for watching our channel, it’s nice to say hello 👋 Im glad the 8ft wide content was helpful and I am sure you will be fine with a large caravan. Somer Wood is certainly worth a visit if you don’t have children. Have a lovely week and thank you for leaving a comment 😊 Karina and Jules
Well done Karina, a very helpful and useful video for those new to Motorhoming (which we’re not, but still enjoyed it!)… ✅ 👍🏻 I get what you say about the hookup cable, we have a 25m and a 15m for those sites where the tricity is closer and for the occasional location where even 25m is not enough… 🙄
We are out at Somerswood quote often, only 15 mins down the road from us in Solihull! Lovely site, so close for us but you feel like you could be anywhere.
You were on the right lines. In the early 80’s I worked for a company that imported hose parts from Italy. The “nipple” is the male connector, what it clicks into is the female connector. It’s amazing the wealth of useless info we pick up over the years. 😆
Brilliant, so I wasn’t far off then 🤣 The technical terms often fail me but I generally find a good description. Thank You for watching and have a lovely week, Karina 😊
Great to see you out and about! What a lovely site! Motorhoming seems to be the best for ease and having everything on board is fab! I think with your figure you only eat fish and chips once a week and nothing in between! 😋😋😋 Thank you for showing us around and a peek at Fudge - far more handsome than Jules IMO! 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🔜🔜🔜🔜
😂😂 Thank you Peter and lovely to read your comment as always. I hope you are okay. I really enjoyed my solo trip and the fish and chips! Have a nice weekend and take care, Karina and Jules 😊
Great video. I’ve learnt to do everything mainly from videos from yourself and the Earnshaws. Although me and my husband share everything including the driving I feel it is vitally important that each person can do literally everything you just never know if someone is going to be poorly on tour. The gas terrified me at first but once you know how to switch it on and off it’s a doddle really. Thank you as always for your very informative and immensely enjoyable videos. We are currently on day 8 of a 15 day tour of Scotland and I’m getting withdrawal symptoms from not yet finding a fish and chip shop 😂
Thank you Maria and yes, you never know when you might have to do it all yourself. The unknown is the only thing to fear and once its not unknown it becomes normal. Enjoy your amazing trip and I hope you find some fish and chips very soon 😊 Karina and Jules
Enjoyed this video, interesting to compare set up to caravan. We will probably stick to caravanning as we don’t tour just pick a site and stay there where motor homes are more suited to touring. As you have done both how about doing a video comparing the two and telling us which you prefer.
Thank you for watching Robert and agree that if you pitch up on one site for your holiday then a caravan is perfect. I have done a caravan or motorhome vlog earlier this year and made some comparisons in that one. I think it is hard for some people to know which would be best for them. We have enjoyed both 😊 Have a nice week and enjoy your next trip away, Karina
@@HereWeTow I will search back to find vlog and have a look. We are due away this weekend but Sod’s law all this lovely weather at the moment but rain is forecast this weekend. Still it is what it is and we shall still enjoy just getting away from it all.
An excellent and informative video Karina. Its been many years since I sold my caravan and will be buying our first camper or motorhome next year so I've been following many like yourselves for great hints and tips. A quick question, how much now do the average camp site charge and are the charges much different to Certified sites?
Thank you..sites vary hugely I have found this year but you can still get a nice pitch for £18 but some are charging up to £50. Recently I have paid £35 for pitches on some larger private sites. Some certified sites are still about for £8 without electric and facilities. I dont mind paying for a good site. Thanks for watching 😊 Karina
Looks like a productive trip :) BTW same number of steadies and security devices on a small caravan as a large single axle one ;-) what small ones lack is a % of hedges/skinny lanes related anxiety and tail swing, mind you there’s the added stress of where on earth will that accessory/bit of camping furniture, etc. fit ;-) lovely vid.
😂 Thanks Becky, yes I guess I mean just the whole size of it, manoeuvring it, 8ft tow cover, trying to fit it on the pitch (often fun with the Isonzos length) etc. You do a great job as a solo caravanner 😊👍 Have a lovely week 😊Karina
Hello Karina, Just subscribed after watching your video, use to do caravanning many years ago, now I like to try a motorhome. You would make a great TV presenter on the subject, love the go pro camera work, I think your theme tune could be 'you spin me right round baby' by dead or alive 👍👍
Excellent vlog as ever Karina.. well constructed and presented. Good advice and I’m sure this will offer encouragement and aid confidence for solo travellers . Always nice to see SomersWood. Didn’t you hint early on in the Bingo days about a meet up at SW? - is this still on the cards? Best wishes and I’m sure Jules enjoyed the free time too 😉 Howard & Sandra xx
Hello Howard and Sandra, yes there will be a meet up at SW and I think it may be September time. I am waiting for the new motorhome arriving so we can make some plans around a meet. 😊 Have a fantastic week and I hope to see you both soon, Karina and Jules
Why not empty the toilet whilst the motorhome is still on your pitch? You the are then freeing up the motorhome service point more quickly. You can add the toilet chemical through the open toilet from inside the van ----no need to mess about with levers etc. We find that Bio washing liquid works fine for most use in normal temperatures and is very cheap compared to specific chemical toilet fluid and is eco friendly to septic tank systems. Very good point about electric cable and connecting to motorhome first, we have seen a lot of people walk round with live cables!
Thanks for watching Bill, I quite often empty the cassette from the pitch but this was easier for me when I was leaving the site and for the purpose of showing the things you need to do at the end of the trip. Thank you for sharing your tips too. 😊 I hope you have some good trips planned yourself in the next few months. 😊 Take care, Karina
Very clear and concise instructions. I very recently lost my husband & unfortunately our motorhome is far too big for me to drive (6 berth) so it will be going on the market. I was going to invest in a campervan but as we did a lot of wild camping I dont feel safe parking up in scenic spots on my own. The alternative of just going from campsite to campsite, even though most are lovely, doesn’t appeal. I have subscribed and look forward to catching up with your travels & if any of your viewers have tips on solo women travelling in remote places (Scotland?) I would love to hear their thoughts. All the best 🦆💕
Thank you for taking the time to comment Pam and I am truly sorry to hear you have lost your husband. It is great to hear that you do want to keep touring though and I hope you find a perfect camper. I would still consider wild camping by myself, personally I would just lock my doors and draw the blinds so people cannot see you are by yourself. I don’t know if you are on Facebook but I am sure there are specific groups for solo female motorhomers which may offer some good advice. We are just in the process of a house move so I havent put anything out for a few weeks. Have a lovely week and take care, Karina 😊
Thank you for your very quick reply. Although not the same without a partner to share the views etc I think I will try and carry on as we met some truly lovely people on our travels & will have to train a very fat old Labrador to become a guard dog 😂😂🦆💕
A great video for people starting out, there’s so many things to remember & sort out before you can get the kettle on. I’ve a couple of questions. Firstly, have you been able to try your air con out, if so do you think it’s worth while ? The other query is something that came up on a Posh Cats video & you reminded me as you mentioned that your fridge is auto select & when you switch your engine off & before you hook up the mains power that it switches to gas, what happens when you stop for fuel, does it ignite the gas burner or do you switch it all off before you stop the engine ? Just thinking as a general safety issue that could affect all motor homes with auto select fridges creating a spark of flame on a petrol forecourt.💥💥😟😟
Thank you for watching Pete, yes we tried the air con in Dorset when we had a hot spell and it made a huge difference, especially for Fudge who was very warm even in the shade. We will be doing an air conditioning vlog when we get our new motorhome. With regards the fridge and gas, we usually turn the gas off when travelling and turn it back on when we get to site. I believe some motorhomes do have a system whereby you can leave the gas on and it wont feed any gas through for a certain amount of time after turning off the engine. This would cover situations such as a petrol station. Even so i would imagine the risk is fairly low, I personally haven’t seen or heard of a Motorhome causing a fire or exploding at a petrol station. It is a good topic to raise though. The fridge on our new motorhome is a compressor fridge so will run on electric only so that eliminates that risk too. Have a good week, Karina 😊
I caravan with my 2 year old daughter and our dog. I need approx 8 more sets of eyes but we do just fine. 😁 She absolutely loves it. We meet up with friends at sites. Don't suppose it's solo, but it's solo adult 🤣
Im glad you are caravanning with your daughter and dog 😊 I am sure she loves meeting friends when you are away. Enjoy the summer and safe towing 😊 Karina
That's me. Starting in July in Germany at 73. Nervous? Of course. Going to take it slowly. This video is fairly basic but it was very good at building up my confidence. Had to laugh that you have to lock up the toilet cassette. Thieves will take anything, these days. I think I'll buy 2 10m cables, because you have to unroll it all and one might be enough and the second one is there for when it isn't. What is a 10 in fish and chips?
Thank you for watching Jeff and yes,it’s just a case of taking it slowly and getting a routine. A ten is yet to be found, usually its the batter that just doesn’t make it. 😊 Have a lovely weekend, Karina
Thank you and on our Motorhome no, the flush comes from the fresh water tank. I do have a 40shot pink spray though to add a bit of freshness. If you do have an external flush you can use 5ml of the 40shot cassette as it is dual purpose. 😊🐾🐾
HI Bloody good on u my goodness I really Do admire u 110% I wouldn’t have the Confidence to go Alone but at least u had your Absolutely Beautiful Fudge with u & my goodness he is one Beautiful boy with a bit of luck I hope to be at the show in the N.E.C. in Birmingham Later this year it would be so nice if we Seeing you & your hubby just to say hi ………please can u tell me can u Recommend any nice hotels in & around the Area your help would be very much Helpful and appreciated thanks, and Once again good on u. ❤️ to u both Lin 👍❤️🐕
Thank you Linda and thank you for watching. Fudge doesnt help much but he does look after me. Hopefully we will see you at the NEC, if you search on Booking.com you will find the local hotels and the prices. Ive previously used the Air BnB website but we have usually stayed in the caravan on a nearby site. Have a lovely week and take care, Karina and Jules 😊
Yes, turn the gas off when driving and yes, leave it hooked up. I dont leave chairs out in case they get taken by the less honest, which does happen sadly.
Excellent video, greats tip re electric in mh first, I wouldn't advise levelling while hanging out of cab, you could run yourself over esp in your next auto if you fell, I would say reverse on as more space behind fur safety if you are nose in, all in really great and informative video
Thanks for watching Herbie and yes, you dont want to be under the wheels 😊 If you were taller you could probably just look out of the window, I would keep my seatbelt on I think. Have a lovely week and thank you for your comment 😊 Karina
Thanks Paul, yes the electric hook up can be used in all weathers, I have never heard of any issues in wet weather. The bollard has its own trip and so do caravans and motorhomes so if there is an issue the bollard will trip and and your leisure vehicle. Have a great week, Karina
Thank you for watching.. you can have a self levelling system fitted but it about £5-6k.. you don’t seem to get much for your money these days. Have a lovely week..😊
Thanks Chris, most sites offer electric hook up pitches and the electric is included in the pitch price. Occasionally you will get a site where you have to pay for the electric based on your use but I have never stayed at a site with that arrangement 😊 Karina
Depending on how much weight there is on board we get around 30mpg at 70mph on a motorway. General consumption is 28-32 depending on the road and speed.
Hi Alan, I think there is a time and place for everything and right now I am loving the Motorhome. It is very different to the caravan but it gives me freedom to go off and do things I wouldn’t have done with the caravan. 😊 Karina
Really enjoy your vlogs. I am not yet a motor home traveler. So daft question coming up… although you emptied the grey tanks, do you also empty the water tanks before travelling, or are you required to keep a minimum amount of water onboard? Does this affect the water pump? Or do you fully empty ALL the tanks? Thanks in advance.
Thank you and that’s a good question, one I could cover in another trip. If I am away the next weekend I keep the water in the fresh tank and the hot water boiler. If I am not going away then I would dump the water from both tanks, this is best done over a motorhome service point but it isnt always possible so I do it at home. In winter I would drop all the water from the motorhome and the pipes so they don’t freeze. The hot water boiler does have a frost protection valve so would drop the water at a certain temperature, I think it is around 4 degrees c. Thanks for the good question and one for the future 😊👍 Karina
@@HereWeTow Thank you Karina, would love to see a full breakdown in your usual extreme detail. Can you also include how to keep the tanks clean and healthy (such as the different types of water you get, such as hard and soft) etc. How often do you need to do a Bacterial cleanse etc. Excited. Thanks again.
Yes, that is Fudge 🐾🐾 In the UK we have to have our dogs restrained when travelling and Fudge is a bit big for travels up front. Thank you so much for watching from the USA 🇺🇸 I would love to do an RV trip as I use to holiday in America a lot. Have a fantastic week 😊 Karina and Fudge
@@HereWeTow Yes, I have gathered from watching several RUclipsrs from the UK that there are many many more rules there than here! You know we colonists are a rebellious lot of trouble makers and wouldn’t put up with government interference in our lives like that!
@@HereWeTow we are thinking about getting a motorhome but the thing that worries me is planning the trip for the on site facilities and the roads that we might have to travel on, i.e narrow country lanes. Any tips on planning would be helpful! Idea for a blog?!
We are enjoying our Motorhome and using your own facilities make it easy. Most sites have fair to average facilities but some can be poor and some excellent. I plan my route a bit, nothing like when I was towing. A Motorhome will fit along most roads, but narrow B roads can be a bit stressful if they are busy. Its a good idea to rent a Motorhome to see if you enjoy it and then you can commit to a purchase. I may well do a planning vlog with some information about what I do. 😊 Karina
I watched a bunch of videos about RV traveling alone. All the people alone were old women, I wonder why a lot of old women can't find anybody who wants to associate with them? I'm 71 years old so I do know something about being old, right?
Maybe many of these women have had enough of men 🤷🏼♀️😂 I know when I go away by myself I only have to look after myself and not my husband, I quite enjoy the break. Maybe these women are choosing to be alone..or get a dog instead 🤔 Thanks for watching 😊
Of rather just live in one full time I don't need a lot never have a shower and tv and charging points I just prepare to be on my own it's a healing thing👍

Thats a good idea Paul..thank you 😊
Good work Karina! Great to be showing a positive side to motorhoming alone I’m sure it will give people confidence with your excellent explanations
Thank you Ann, I can see you and me on a trip next 😂👍 Have a lovely week, Karina

Hi Thanks for a great vid .. I'm now on my own with a dog. And looking to buy a motorhome and travel solo.. its scary not knowing what to buy and what happens with my dog.. I'm sure things will be ok, when I take the plunge. It will be an adventure
I am sure you will be fine and you will meet some great people once you start touring! All the best when you do take the plunge, Karina 😊🐾
I really enjoyed the vlog , hopefully i find the courage to go camping myself some day , as my camper is wasting away on my drive
thank you for the encouraging video
loved watching 🖐
kind regards Sean
Thank you and I hope you do go 😊 Karina
Thank you very helpful I get my small motorhome next week will going solo a lot of the time, I feel less nervous now. I bought a caravan a couple of years ago sold it within a couple of months as felt overwhelmed as new to it all 😪
But now feel a lot more confident and looking forward to my adventures and new chapter 😊
I am sure you will love it Jill. I am away by myself now and have had a great few days in the Motorhome. If you have any questions just get in contact with me 😊 Go for it..Karina
Hi Karina, as always, a great vlog .. who needs blokes around to get in the way :)
On the cable .. someone gave me a great tip many years ago, to fold the cable in 1/2 & then wind it onto the spool, this way you only need to wind/unwind it 1/2 as many times :) easy
Hope you like the tip
Thanks Darren..that’s an interesting tip 🤔I will have a look at that method next time I do the cable..have a lovely week 😊Karina
Excellent help.
Thank you
Great video, I have a caravan ,but still good to watch.
Kev
Thank you Kev 😊 Karina
This is a fantastic vlog and I loved watching you away by yourself. As a woman I lack confidence to do these things but I’m inspired by you doing it. Fudge is gorgeous too, he looked to be having a wonderful adventure to that site. I’m looking forward to more trips from you and Jules, Lou x
Thank you Louise, and thanks for watching and commenting 😊 Karina
Really useful vlog, you made everything seem so easy.
Thanks Ali 😊
Been doing this for 6 years, no arguments, not clock, no BS....the only way

Somers Wood looks great , we have not been there yet. Thanks for sharing.
We will have to meet up there sometime 😊
@@HereWeTow that would be great 😊
Thank you so much 🌻
When you were sat up in the cab of your van , I didnt realise how long the van is , so when you began to set up the electrics , I got quite a shock to see the size of it!
Yes, it’s fairly long! 😊
That was an excellent vlog , very informative 👏👍
Thank you.
Thank you Andy, I enjoyed my little trip away, have a great week 😊 Karina
@@HereWeTow Thank you
Hope you both have a great week and fudge of course 😊👍
Thanks Craig, someone else mentioned splitting the cable too. I will look forward to the video of the new set up!!! Karina 😊
One way around your cable dilemma is to buy a pair of the blue connectors (male and female) and split the cable into 2 lengths - 10m and 15m. That way you have the choice of a 10m, 15m or 25m cable, but might need a waterproof cover for the centre connector if using the 25m length.
Thanks for sharing Karina excellent advice for newbies 👍
Thank you Ian, have a great week 😊👍 Karina
@@HereWeTow Thank you two more weeks to work then off to Northumberland,Southern Scotland and Lake District can’t wait last year’s cancelled trip.
That will be a fantastic trip 😊
Hi Karina some really useful tips for anyone thinking of going out on their own. Hopefully see you in October cheers P&J
Morning Phil and Juliet..hope all is well your end, yes fingers crossed for the NEC. Have a lovely week and take care, Karina and Jules 😊
Hi Karina , you look as though you have caught the sun. Its been very muggy here in the North east UK .
Morning 😊 Yes, we have had some fantastic weather the past few weeks, yesterday being very warm. Have a lovely week and take care, Karina 😊
Great confidence booster for anyone that wants to go solo, great job. BTW you need one of these, really find ours useful, just a thought if you havn't got one. Just realised I can't share a pic lol, it's an easy filler cap for water 😁
Thanks Mark and a lady suggested on of those too and sent me a message so I will take a look! Have a lovely week, Karina 😊
Well done Karina, a very helpful and useful video for those new to Motorhoming (which we’re not, but still enjoyed it!)… ✅ 👍🏻
I get what you say about the hookup cable, we have a 25m and a 15m for those sites where the tricity is closer and for the occasional location where even 25m is not enough… 🙄
Thank you for watching Rog and I hope you are okay 😊 Have a lovely week, Karina 🐍
Very good video,
Thank you 😊
We are out at Somerswood quote often, only 15 mins down the road from us in Solihull! Lovely site, so close for us but you feel like you could be anywhere.
It is a lovely site for a break and very private 😊 Thank you for watching, Karina
Great solo video 👍
Thank you Mark 😊
Thanks for this - keep thinking I'd like to try a solo trip but haven't plucked up the courage yet. Defo going to do it this summer.
Thanks Janet and I really enjoyed it. Just take your time with everything until you get your own routine. 😊 Karina
Go for it Janet life is an adventure if I can do it anyone can 😂
Enjoyed this video, interesting to compare set up to caravan.
Hello Karina,
Just subscribed after watching your video, use to do caravanning many years ago, now I like to try a motorhome.
You would make a great TV presenter on the subject, love the go pro camera work, I think your theme tune could be 'you spin me right round baby' by dead or alive 👍👍
😂Thank you and I will put some thought in to the theme tune 😛 Karina

Lots of good advice Karina, perhaps wear disposable gloves when emptying the black tank?.
Thanks Alex, gloves are a good idea 😊 Karina
Excellent vlog as ever Karina.. well constructed and presented.
Good advice and I’m sure this will offer encouragement and aid confidence for solo travellers .
Always nice to see SomersWood.
Didn’t you hint early on in the Bingo days about a meet up at SW? - is this still on the cards?
Best wishes and I’m sure Jules enjoyed the free time too 😉
Howard & Sandra xx
Really enjoyed the video Karina! Did you manage to eat all that fish 🐠 it was huuuggeee 😂 Emma (yellow) xx
Morning Emma, I had two goes at it but I was still defeated, thats when I did need Jules, to clear up my leftovers! Have a lovely week, Karina 😊
Nice leafy site,we've just ordered our first caravan and are looking for any recommendations for leafy sites down in the south west/south coast
Have a look on the Tranquil Parks and Best of British websites…😊 Karina
Great video!!!! Thanks very much. Do you also need pink fluid for the toilet inside as well as the 40 shot in the cassette?
Thank you and on our Motorhome no, the flush comes from the fresh water tank. I do have a 40shot pink spray though to add a bit of freshness. If you do have an external flush you can use 5ml of the 40shot cassette as it is dual purpose. 😊🐾🐾

Do you turn the gas off when driving?
Also....when popping off site....do you leave the electric cable and any chairs etc? Or pack it up? Xxxx
Yes, turn the gas off when driving and yes, leave it hooked up. I dont leave chairs out in case they get taken by the less honest, which does happen sadly.
I’ve been doing solo caravanning for 13years but I do get nervous and now I’m doing it with two dogs 😂
You are amazing when it comes to solo caravanning and now you are taking the dogs, full respect from me Alison. Have a lovely week, Karina 😊
Thanks for video. Wish I get a chance to do this one day. Is the electric hook up grounded and can it be hooked up during rain.
Thanks Paul, yes the electric hook up can be used in all weathers, I have never heard of any issues in wet weather. The bollard has its own trip and so do caravans and motorhomes so if there is an issue the bollard will trip and and your leisure vehicle. Have a great week, Karina
i go there to meridan chippy regular
They were excellent 👍
Really good video but just thinking these van are not cheap maybe a level built in 😊
Thank you for watching.. you can have a self levelling system fitted but it about £5-6k.. you don’t seem to get much for your money these days. Have a lovely week..😊
Great vid , very helpful . Thank you 🙏
On campsites, do you pay a one off fee for electric , or do you pay just for what you use ?
Thanks Chris, most sites offer electric hook up pitches and the electric is included in the pitch price. Occasionally you will get a site where you have to pay for the electric based on your use but I have never stayed at a site with that arrangement 😊 Karina
What is your average motorway fuel consumption, and at what speed, with this engine?
Depending on how much weight there is on board we get around 30mpg at 70mph on a motorway. General consumption is 28-32 depending on the road and speed.
Hi Karina do you find the Motorhome better than the caravan
Will cover these over the coming months, hard water is an interesting one having just been to Dorset. Take care, Karina
Do you let fudge walk about freely inside your van when you are getting ready for bed and then does he have his own bed to sleep in ?
Yes he is free to move about but he lays on his bed taking up most of the floor near the door! 🐾
Ah Fudge is a dog!! Waited 20:18 for that! Americans have the dogs ride up front!

I know it uses more water but why not shower in the motorhome?!
I do Keith, I’ve always used my on board facilities but the shower at Somers Wood is amazing! 😊
😊 Karina
Service pitch? Water pipe? Two countries separated by a common language!
😂Absolutely 😊
I watched a bunch of videos about RV traveling alone. All the people alone were old women, I wonder why a lot of old women can't find anybody who wants to associate with them? I'm 71 years old so I do know something about being old, right?
Maybe many of these women have had enough of men 🤷🏼♀️😂 I know when I go away by myself I only have to look after myself and not my husband, I quite enjoy the break. Maybe these women are choosing to be alone..or get a dog instead 🤔 Thanks for watching 😊
