- DISCLAIMER This video is a tribute to Rob Grill who we recently lost on July 11th, 2011. It is shared here to remember him and no profits are being made.
Rob has influenced my bass playing in a far greater way than anyone else. Although John Entwistle initially inspired me to pick up the bass guitar, it was Rob who truely showed me what a work of art can come from it. Rob's music has kept me devoted to my instrument and learning his songs has brought me an incredible amount of joy. His passing is one that is very heartbreaking to me and I send out my thoughts and prayers to his family, wishing them strength and courage during this very sad and hard time. Rob will always be remembered and cherished for his music and kind heart. Thank you for everything you gave us Rob, and know that you will always be special and loved by your fans.

Rob's voice was like no other. And it's hard to put into words. Sexy, smooth, sometimes raspy, mellow, cool.......H-O-T!! You'd just know right away...yes, THAT'S Rob Grill. I hope with all my heart that Rob knew how many fans he had, and how much he was loved. Please God...hold him tightly for a while...let him rest without any more pain. ~~Rob, I can imagine you smiling that wonderful smile. Thank you for all the music...I love you.
The world is not a better place without Rob Grill gone. Got to meet him a couple times got an autograph from him which I will forever keep. We lost a gem last year.
I am crying, I have chills. This is so sweet...and beautiful. Where, oh where did you get this version of Where Were You...? I have never heard it. I have loved Rob since the 60's, such a sweet, talented man. I had seen him several times in concert, and he NEVER let me down. Always a fabulous show. I can't believe I'll never see him again. I pray for him, and his wife. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful tribute with Rob's fans. ~~~And Rob....I love you Babe....

The perfect song. Between that piano..and Rob's beautiful voice...blows me away. Today, aug 11, 2011, is one month already since Rob left us. I think of him every day. ~~~I miss you Luv.
His death hurts me to my heart. The last concert we saw him at he smiled at my daughter and I. We were just becoming friends. My friend Rob, you are very missed.

I just rediscovered the Grassroots lately & they were one of my favorite groups in the 60's. Loved loved their songs. RIP ROB... gone but not forgotten....
All those years ago, I fell in love with THAT VOICE. Then, I saw Rob. WOW!! I fell in love with THAT FACE. Then...I fell in love with THE MAN. ~~Rob, I am missing you so much. I am so grateful to have super videos like this one to watch and listen to. Keeping you in my heart...I love you Babe...

absolutely beautiful....rob was my favorite singer....and the grass roots will always be my favorite band. i'll never forget meeting rob at a concert years ago in tempe az. he really was a great guy, i'll always have the pictures we took together to remember him by...god bless him, and god bless you for putting this wonderful tribute together.
WOW....THANK YOU.......I hope I can stop crying. His songs were the soundtrack of most of our lives....Always missed, never forgotten.....and one of the most underrated bass players of our time!!!!

Watching this video at the end of the day, loving it...but feeling sad. I know Rob would say "don't be sad", but that's a rough one. Rob, you have my heart..always.
I absolutely love this tribute. Oh my gosh. You chose some of the best pictures and video of him. I have every album and 45 of the Grass Roots. Such a great group and Rob Grill ...is one of the best. Thank you for this video.

Holy cow, you guys - this is perfection. Stunning vocal, stunning shot selection. I knew Rob from 1977, with Dennis, Glen and Joel. Really special times, really amazing guy. Thank you ~ UPROOTED is an awesome album to this day. But how ya gonna go wrong with Rob, Lindsey and John McVie?!! Thanks again!

Hello my friend, you always put together the best tribute videos, and this one is absolutely beautiful and so touching. I never got to see the Grass Roots in concert either and I would've loved to. Rob's voice was so much a part of my growing up years, first boyfriend and all that. The songs are pearls on the necklace of my life and I just absolutely love each one. Rob will always be missed and thought of whenever we hear his music. I love you Rob and know you're making beautiful music in heaven
I saw them in 01' at our Arts in the Park and always the professional!! God rest him !! All the pain he was in , one wouldn't have known watching him at that time!! My son , Pat really liked this song here!!

This is a beautiful tribute to Rob, one of the truly great singers of all time. Love this version of "Where Were You When I Needed You", so touching and heartbreaking. His voice always gave me chills....I'm going to miss him so much! Thank you for sharing with all Rob's fans and friends
