Tres Hombres was my first ZZ Top album and I was hooked. Lagrange had a lot to do with that.
Fun Fact: The drummer (without a beard) is Frank Beard!! Mrs PP, we've been gigging with this song for over 45 years and it never fails to get people out of their seats and on to the dance floor. The more people dancing, the longer we play!! "Tush" and "Thunderbird" are great earlier pre MTV era ZZ TOP songs. Nothing fancy, just straight forward $hit kickin;'rock and roll. Yes been in the studio while they recorded there 3rd album my dad was a engineer. Let me tell you them guy's are wild and to me alot of the stuff left on the cutting room floor was gold. People are going to tell you to listen to there commercial MTV stuff. "Legs" and "give me all your lovein" them are great songs. But there 70s stuff was much better. Like "waiting on the bus /Jesus done left Chicago" it's 2 songs on the same track.. or" beer drinkers and hell raisers"9
The song is about the bordello known as the Chicken Ranch. Dolly Pardon & Burt Reynolds did a movie about it. R.I.P Dusty Hill.
Interesting reaction. ZZ Top is a phenomenon unto themselves and I'm glad you reacted to the earlier stuff first because you will get a lot of requests for later stuff like Sharp Dressed Man. But man they came on with a vengeance and it's just a little three piece out of Texas as they used to say. But check out the studio version of Heard It On The X, to get one of the tightest things you'll see with dueling front vocals, and it is even a bit autobiographical in that they're talking about pirate radio and where they heard some of the really early driving soul stuff which informed them. I'm from Texas myself and so of course I relate to this band so much.
Others that I bet you would really like are Tube Steak Boogie, Cheap Sunglasses, Nationwide, the list goes on and on.

I first remember hearing this song at about 3am coming from my living room in 1972 when I was a kid dad was playing the drums uncle billy playing guitar and dusty on bass they was lit . My favorite is" beer drinkers and hell raisers"
A little trivia for you, lead singer Billy Gibbons, if you notice in the picture he's wearing a particular cap not native to Texas. It's a braided cloth cap called a Nudu, a traditional cap from Cameroon. Billy got it years ago while touring Europe, he had a three week stopover in Vienna during which he had the opportunity to join a diplomatic trip to Cameroon and meet the Chief of the Bamileke tribe. The Chief met the delegation at the airport where he noticed and made a straight beeline to Billy who was wearing his 10-Gallon Stetson, apparently the Chief was a big fan of American Westerns. The Chief told Billy he loved the cowboy hat at which point the Ambassador nudged him "give him the hat!", which Billy was happy to do but informed the Chief of a Texas Tradition called Horse Trading, the Chief understood that concept quite well and sent a couple of his aides to go get his favorite Nudu cap. Billy's kept it and several like it ever since.

Some suggestions you requested 1) Waiting For The Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago (together and Not the Remastered version) 2) Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings 3)Bluejean Blues 4) Sure Got Cold After The Rain Fell. This song is about a real “brothel” if you want to call it that. It was known as a he Chicken Shack because I believe during the Great Depression when mean went for “entertainment “ if they could not afford a woman they could pay for one with a chicken.
