Billy on piano!! I really miss the piano these days as far as rock n. roll these days. The piano really adds energy to these songs. I can just see Billy bouncing around on those ivories!!
Was there, god I was shitfaced. Saw them again 3 weeks later in Milwaukee, just graduated from college. It was a top 5 day in my life.Beautiful day, 80 degrees, beautiful topless women dancing in the sun. Always been a Stone, will die a Stone. They are the greatest Rock/roll band in the world.
For the stones to carry on without being in the public eye every six months during the 70s and falling out of fashion in the late 70s proves that this band was indeed the greatest rock n roll band in the world. 👍

I have seen many concerts over the last 30 years at Cobo Hall,...but missed this one.The rock history of that building is one of a kind. You can feel the vibe of the 70's still when you walk in side. The memories of my youth instantly flash back every time I enter that building.I did eventually see the Stones Dec.1/81 at the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan & the show was excellent.Stood on Main floor right up against the front barrier. The bonus was that Santana opened for them,.those were the days!
I was there, I swear 2 you. 16. Half-way back, Main Floor. They rocked hard. Girl jumped on my shoulders 4 SFM & JJF. Saw her following summer outside movie theatre: 'Hey, you jumped on my shoulders at the Stone's concert!'
I was there! Advertised in the Detroit Free Press for scalper tickets I bought with law-cutting money. Brought my friend Dale. Our parents dropped us off at Cobo Hall and picked us up after. Fabulous night.
I was 20 in 1975 and believe me… Everybody was wasted. I was playing oboe and saxophone at the Air Force Academy Band at the time. The first show of the Rolling Stones I saw Anaheim Stadium 1978 both shows. Unforgettable. Un fucking forgettable! I loved Taylor’s guitar sound and skill. But nobody can mesh the screamin leads and rhythms intertwined with Keith like Ron Woods playing. The last show I saw was the day after my dad died May 5, 2013 and Mick Taylor got to sit in and play midnight rambler. Without Mick and Keith there wouldn’t be a Mick Taylor still. And without Mick and Keith, Ronnie probably would’ve been dead by now.
Hey no more ,thanks for the ronnie and kieth one guy four arms compliment. No one talks about it, I think that they are jealous beacuse they don't get off on the song as much as they want to preform in front of people, rock and roll is all about two guitars interterwining together and a swinging band
I was at the largo Md show july 2,1975 I was also 16 , 10 rows from the stage and man what a show. Have seen them over 20 times since that unforgettable night and i can say that show stands out more than any other time seeing the stones . I have seen some great stones shows since then.Maybe it was the windowpayne in my system?
Caught this show in Memphis, July 4th. After the show, Keef, Ronnie, and a friend decided to drive instead of fly to the next show in Dallas. They got pulled over in Arkansas. Funny story. It's the first thing you read in Keef's book, Life.
ok, i saw 'em in the Gator Bowl on august 4th or 5th-same show...my first concert, besides Elvis-which i saw with my family-...thanks for recomending this-and Ronnie WAS exceptional here- Keith's guitar came unplugged-he was turnin up the amp, goin'WTF?' and a roadie showed him the plug-and they fell out laughing-plugged back in-and Keith did the show- all day,8 bands-lotta fun.
Pretty damn good audio for a boot. Woody is actually pretty impressive and Preston brings another level more on keys. I can see why they hired him. The audience recordings are regrettable.
Tickets were $8.00. I bought mine from a scalper for $30! I had seen the Cleveland show and went to Detroit the next show. The guy in the next seat had a bottle of real hash oil.....
A VGP Stone in My Shoe? Longest version of Midnight Rambler here, up until Roskilde Festival in 2014. With Mick Taylor of course. 1975 was their heaviest drug tour ever.

I think pathetic is a bit strong. I am a big MT fan but also Mick and Keith were writing great stuff for MT to play on. By the time Woody came along their writing was still good but not at the level of Sticky Fingers or Exile. Woody is also a better "personality fit" to the band than Taylor or Jones.
...I saw this tour in Buffalo, NY. It was to be my 1st of 14 Stones concerts spanning the 70's, the 80's, 90's...2000's and now "hopefully" the 2010's" .....anyway, does anyone know in what year Ron Wood became a "full partner" in the band rather than a paid participant. Please don't just guess. I know approximately what year but am not exactly sure. Thanks!!!
Listen to Ronnie's solo on Can't always get. Nobody should say that Ronnie is a poor man's Mick Taylor anymore. He might be not that good anymore, but so is Mick Taylor or, alas, Keith.
I saw them here in memphis that year ,they had to get furry lewis to play ahead because of being busted in arkansas, then 3 hrs late so screwed up ,ha ( those stadium concerts)?
I don't think so, I'm Pianist and I can tell you He is doing his best job. I think maybe you don`t like the mix, high volume to keyboard. Maybe it was not the sound alive.

Perfectly stated. They are Exactly that.Something very, very special about The Rolling Stones.♥️😛☠️🎶💯
They also had 1969 sound equipment. They still kicked ass!

Ditto. 16 and awestruck. Half-way back, Main Floor. My dad took me. He said Jagger 'gave crowd $'s worth.' RIPC.
Fantastic!!! 75 Tour was incredible....Detroit was a rocking town back then.

people always called it Cobo Hall but it was Cobo Arena. Cobo Hall was the floor space for the Auto Show. The arena was the concert venue.
Saw them 1975 in Chicago because wanted to see them before the band broke up. Billy Preston was amazing!
Let's hope it never happens!!!
I was at that concert!
Was it still Mick Taylor on guitar or was it already Ron Wood?
I was there, I swear 2 you. 16. Half-way back, Main Floor. They rocked hard. Girl jumped on my shoulders 4 SFM & JJF. Saw her following summer outside movie theatre: 'Hey, you jumped on my shoulders at the Stone's concert!'
Was there...11th row....Loved the warmup band...Stevie Womder..
He's nearly as good as Stevie Wonder.
One Rolling Stones Concert tops 1000 nuclear powerplants !!! When I'm "low batt", I just listen to them, and I'm fine again !!!
I saw the 75 tour in Greensboro NC....Billy Preston was playing keyboards......awesome show !! Keith is indeed a legend !!!!!!!!!!!.
Saw them 3 days later in Greensboro. Tickets were $8.50 for that show. My Dad brought a cassette recorder and recorded the show.

Billy is only one who isn't wasted.
Preston snorted cocaine smoked weed - by no means was Billy UNwasted during this Detroit show. .
