I want Garage 56 to be a Japan Super GT500 car. See how they perform against the hypercars. Perhaps they can have strict fuel capacity limits to prevent them from contending to win. But the speed comparison would be cool.

Cool idea, but I doubt about the engine, the NRE engines (engine format used by all GT500 cars), was never intended to run 24 hours.
The longest race NRE engine ever run was Suzuka 1000 km (about 7-8 hours endurance race).
Also take note that Suzuka did not have long straight like Le Mans or Fuji Speedway (which make stressful for the engine itself).
Also, GT500 cars are corner monster because of their massive downforce.
Although seems good idea, but I think 24 hours of Le Mans is not the territory of GT500.

@@fajarastanaprima2771 For what it's worth, NASCAR Cup series engines were also not designed for 24h racing, but with some minor changes the engine did quite well. Granted NRE engines are a lot more power dense.

@@fajarastanaprima2771 In that case, detune the engine to GT300 regs, change only a small amount of the aero (to minimize drag) and then let it compete for overall GT win.

      @fajarastanaprima2771 Месяц назад +3

@@vivos71 you also need to know that Garage 56 NASCAR use detuned version or Chevrolet R07 engine.
      R07 capable about 800-880 hp, 9500 rpm,
but for Garage 56 at 24h of Le Mans, they detuned it, lowering the rev, so just
670-690 hp with 8500 rpm (saw the onboard & they never went beyond 8700 rpm).
Garage 56 already got robust & well reliable R07 engine.
But NRE GT500? They somehow kinda stressful engine with only 2.0L 4-cylinder, they must endure high boost from turbo to produce 650 hp & rev higher (about 9000 rpm) for peak power.
If they want NRE GT500 engine join 24h Le Mans, yeah it's possible.
But I guess they must change a lot of things, even close to change the engine structure itself & make the engineer think that better replace with another or brand new engine to survive 24h race.

@@FallingPicturesProductions if you said "GT300", they would prefer the "true" GT300 or cars that fit GT300 but could also join LMGT3, which is = GT-R GT3 (although dated), NSX GT3, or RC F GT3 (although dated).
Detune the cars power is possible but if they found that the pace is almost same as regular GT3, the manufacturers/teams would found it "nonsense/pointless" anymore to run the GT500 cars at Le Mans.

Sadly I ended up cringing every time I saw footage of it though, it just seemed to create an endless stream of "yeah brother! about time someone showed those europeans how its done! yeeeeehaw" comments- which is a bit of a kick in the balls to all the Corvettes, Vipers, Panoz and Saleens that have consistently done well for decades, even without free reign on the regs.

If I'm remembering the full context, the biggest reason why NASCAR got a LeMans entry is that it was NASCAR's 75th anniversary. The NASCAR sanctioning body did nothing with it state side, but we did get the Garage 56 entry. Personally, I really wish we'd take the lessons learned from the G56 entry in order to create a truly world wide series.

Maybe future G56 entires could attempt to branch out from the original three (current) G56 cars:
Deltawing => I honestly don't have a good idea for this one.
Amputee => Design that incorporates controls for a driver with no hands and/or arms. Would be difficult, but rewarding.
G56 Camaro: Why not take other non-endurance series car designs? (Like Nascar trucks, Turismo Carreterra, etc). Just like the previous above, I think it could offer some interesting ideas.
