This is a nice tree, large former multi trunk, wide base and nice nebari. I like the styling and the treatment of the tree itself- no too harsh. I wonder what might be done to enhance the deadwood of the former trunks?
this kind of material and what you did to it is amazing. I really want to starting finding material like this? any suggestions? besides wild yamadori, do I just go to the nursery and look for the ugly, damaged ones they've just thrown to the back?
Well if you don’t wanna go collecting yamadori, and you want find this kind of material at a regular nursery, I recommend going to a bonsai nursery. I found lots of good material. Places like Fuji bonsai nursery.
Mr. Neil, you inspire me so much. Thank you for your sacrifices and dedication.
What a fantastic mind, to be able to look at that tree and end up with that final result... amazing
This is the difference between just knowing and knowing how to teach... Well done!
Truly amazing each time I watch
Great artist...but an even greater teacher! Well done Ryan!

You won't find a tree like this in a nursery. Wild trees come from the wild!
you cant just collect from the wild!
You could start with an ugly little tree and give it about 12 year's in a XL bucket.

I like Ryan but every bonsai he makes is in some weird angle
like
"Hopefully". Haha...being modest.
give that bearded dude a wheel chair...cant sit properly without jacking the tree
Ryan is an arrogant person. He does not represent the essence of bonsai. I am not a fan. He pains me with his histrionic manners.

I've learnt a huge amount from Ryan and nobody tells us the horticulture like he does. But still the guys personality really bugs me I don't know why
It's probably jealousy, envy. Or maybe he has the resemblance of someone whom you hate.
