    Great images as usual Leigh. Really captured the quintessential Lake District.

      Thank you Will! Typically the light wasn't quite where I wanted it (and a few walkers that stopped a few shots) but there were a few moments of pure glorious light to be had at least!

    Thank you for th video and lovely images. The 12-100 is my 'go to' lens as well. It is the lens that lives on my camera. If I am hiking or travelling, other lenses have to compete for a cameo appearance on the camera, if they haven't been left at home.

      Thank you! It's definitely one of those lenses that's so special, any other lens has to fight to get a chance to get any time on the camera 😅

    12-100 is probably the best zoom lens ever created on any system.

    Awesome video. When out walking around the desert and mountains of very Southern California, this lens is glued to my EM1X. Cheers!

    It's all been said below, a wonderful lens. Using it has helped convince me that I don't need to go full frame. Thanks again.

    It’s my go to lens too. I was a bit worried about weight but not found it an issue. Great for my needs, which are general landscapes & action shots of our dog running whilst out & about. He’s a Saluki so mega fast. Tempted by 40-150 2.8 too with current cashback offer. All the best.

      40-150 is a beautiful lens too, and fantastic for landscape and bits of wildlife. Pair it with a 1.4x teleconverter and it's even better!

    I own the 7-14 and the 100-400 but, have to admit, probably 80% of all the images I take are with the 12-100. I might wish you could go wider than f4, and for that reason would look for a prime alternative if I start shooting portraits, but aside from that, no complaints.

    • @LeighWPhotos
      @LeighWPhotos  7 месяцев назад

      Definitely never feel that I'm missing out by only having f/4, but the plus points far outweigh that for me if I ever need faster. A nice lightweight prime is always an option - and small enough to throw in the bag just in case!

    What if.... if Olympus come out a new lens 10-150mm f4? Will it help swing big sum of Canon, Nikon and Sony users to Olympus?

    • @LeighWPhotos
      @LeighWPhotos  4 месяца назад

      If they can make it clean, fast and lightweight they'd definitely be on to a winner! You'll never convert everyone, but the ones who see the light will definitely be converted!

    how do you mount camera body on your bag?

    • @LeighWPhotos

      I use a capture clip. Peak Design are the well known ones but I use a PGYTech Beetle - both are available by searching for camera capture clip on Amazon though.

    Hi Leigh & hello again from Oz, this lens is now definitely on my shopping list.
    Just one question, I'm curious to know if the pano shots you showed in the video were photos you stitched or a cropped version of what you took.
    Cheers from Oz

    • @LeighWPhotos
      @LeighWPhotos  7 месяцев назад

      Hi George!
      The pano shots were multiple hand held shots that I stitched together - I had to go that way this time due to the other hikers that were around meaning I couldn't get the longer shots I was hoping for.
      I will warn you though, once you try this lens you'll never go back! 😅

    Hi Leigh. I couldn't agree more, my 12-100 lens is glued to my om1 MK1. How are you getting on with the om1 MK2? My only gripe with the MK1 is the front command dial, I find it difficult to locate and turn while shooting sometimes. I understand the MK2 now has rubberised command dials to elevate this problem. As always I enjoyed the video, keep up the good work 👍

    • @LeighWPhotos
      @LeighWPhotos  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Clive! That 12-100 is just a stunner isn't it? I'm liking the Mk2 for the extra features and the dials feel pretty good I must admit. I've only noticed my front dial stick once on the Mk1 but I flipped it the opposite direction and it's never given me trouble since.
      Once I've got used to the new settings though I'll put a video out on what I think of the Mk2 in general - there's already once covering the live grad ready to be edited so that'll be out soon

    What music is playing in this video?

    • @LeighWPhotos
      @LeighWPhotos  4 месяца назад +1

      The incidental music is "A Nomad's Journey" by Victor Lundberg and the music at the end is "World Gone By" by Houses on the Hill.
