I tried it recently and I will have to say I am not impressed, the teacher in me gave it a C.
I'm 67 have tried Boom. I do like the minimal look for certain days where you don't want or need full makeup, however my issue is it doesn't last.
Very true. As much as I love especially Glimmer it doesn't last long enough.
I need foundation coverage.
I'm over 50, I need a little color correcting. I guess it's excellent for a perfect complexion.
Probably someone has already posted this, but that pic you showed us is NOT a picture of Cindy Joseph, but a model off the current Boom Website. Cindy Joseph passed a while back (2018, I think). She was a quirky free spirit bohemian who graced the covers of Vogue with all the top International designers. A simply gorgeous, kind and sweet woman with a mighty entrepreneurial spirit. She was the first beauty vLog I ever followed. Thank you for sharing her CLEAN product line!
I didn't realize she had died. 😪
Wow, sad.
TY Kimberly. I never heard of this line. It does not speak to me at all. Appreciate the concept.
I’ve tried it several times and I just have too many spots etc that need a little coverage. I’m 76 so no makeup look is not for me. It would be great for someone who does not wear makeup. Didn’t like the mascara, was like using nothing. Thank you for your demonstration of the line.
Good morning Kimberly. For me this is a pass. Although nice quality product line but need more in my personal makeup routine. Have a blessed day ❤
Cindy Joseph died of cancer in July 2018. The model in your video is not Cindy Joseph. Thanks for trying the products; I've been wanting to try them myself. The website says to apply the glow sticks first, let them set, and then add foundation if you want.
You are right Elizabeth.
It reminds me of Jones Rode, just ok.
I've never heard of this brand. Pretty colours but looks like it gives a bit of a sunburn look to me. I think it would be very pretty for blush, lipstick look over a base coverage. God rest her beautiful soul!🙏🏻.
The image you showed @ 2:55 timestamp is NOT Cindy Joseph. Ps. .I have used BOOM in the past and it's mediocre with clean ingredients. I prefer Colorscience balms for color with spf benefits and their FLEX/Glow sunscreen products . SPF has true antiaging benefits over 50. :-) Great vid, always enjoy your insights!
Omg i thought so. Thank you i thought i was going crazy lol
ColorScience is so so pricey tho...
The sunscreen makeup lines like Super Goop and Color Science, Avene etc feel like Im wearing a mask.... Its a suffocating feeling and the sunscreen industry and influencers that constantly push it are fear mongerers. If they say and push how IMPORTANT it is then why dont these companies make it at least affordable for everyone??? They scare and rip off consumers.... The sun is demonized IMO... Its necessary for ALL LIFE on earth....
I’m 78 & need more coverage. I’m not a fan of the look, but I think the moisture stick would be good. I’ve been curious about the line. Thanks for trying it. ❤
I think it looks nice on you, fresh and glowing! However, I was reminded of one of your past videos when you said “why bother” when referring to tinted moisturizers. 😂
Thank you for the review!! Not sure Boom is enough for me. Would you do a review on rms cosmetics? Same concept, clean beauty, but seems like a little more coverage with it.
At 65, if I use makeup on my face, I need coverage! I may consider the blush for color. Thank you for the review, I’m not interested.
That pic was not Cindy Joseph 🥴
Cindy Joseph passed away a couple of years ago
I love the concept but find the glow too much. Even though I’m 71, I still have somewhat oily skin. In this Florida forever ongoing hot and humid summer, I just look like I’m sweating more than i already am. lol. Plus if my hair is not pulled all the back off my face , strands tend to fall onto my face and “stick” on the makeup. 🤷🏻♀️ or it’s just me . 😂. Love your channel ❤
Great demo! Just not for me. I like makeup too much…lol.
I’m not loving the look, although you are a very pretty lady. ❤
Still needs something to tone down ruddiness such as a cover color
I really wanted to love this product but the blush broke out my skin and also my mom's. I wrote them and was told it was not non comedogenic, which was obvious. It does not last long and not worth the money. Ended up having to throw it away. Had another friend try it and it broke her skin out as well.
It’s actually very pretty on you. I sometimes just want to run and do errands and not put on a full face. This looks like a beautiful option. I’m going to try it. ❤
Me too.
It is a pass for me. Not enough coverage. It will not cover any dark spots or imperfections. These products are definitely made for someone who wants a minimalist makeup look. There are a lot better products out there on the market for cheaper price points.
I think we need to stop looking at age spots as “imperfections” and start looking at them as life’s beauty marks. As someone who is freckled, I like to let my angel kisses shine and that includes our age spots. To each his/her own. ❤
It’s marketed to older ladies, but I think it would work well with younger ones who don’t have the wrinkles and age spots for a sunkissed look
@@christian5707 If my age spots looked like freckles, I'd like them. They don't, though. I accept my age spots, but I don't like them.
Love simplicity these days. I generally use bronzer for my blush and eyeshadow . I’m a Seint girl myself and love the ease and look of cream on my aging skin. Anything powder these days is just a no go, unless I want to look like the Crypt Keeper. 😂 I think as we age less is more. I’ve also switched to a brown mascara to soften my look.
Edit* I would love to see you use this brand with a foundation (one shade darker than you’ve been using because your chest is so tan these days 😊)
I love the Boomstick Color. I use it on my cheeks nearly every day. I am 50.
Sorry Kimberly, the Boom line does not look pretty. It is just patches of color on your face. I would not buy it.
That was not Cindy Joseph in the photo. She is beautiful, but she is probably one of the women who promotes the company products.
Cindy Joseph was a very beautiful woman who passed away several years ago.
Personally, I have used the Boom stick Berry ( original stick for all skin tones) Color & Gilmer for at least 10 years now & I Love It!
Looks like you just got home from the beach 😎
Right up my ally - as they say! Heard of BOOM about 10 years ago but never have tried it. For someone who has never worn makeup - this is how I would proceed. You look absolutely lovely in it, Kimberly.💞 🙏 Thanks for reviewing this product. -V
I tried this trio several years ago. Nothing about it made me want to re-purchase.
I appreciate your review of this line Kimberly! A BIG NO for me.😊❤
I use Merit Beauty makeup and it is so much better than this. BOOM doesn’t really do it for me as far as coverage.
So glad you reviewed this line of products. I have seen the ads for quite some time, but don’t think it offers the coverage. I’m looking for even on so-called no make up days. Thanks!
Hi Kimberly, I am 75 and tried the Boom line probably five or more years ago. The only piece of it I use regularly and love is the Nude Rose Color Stick. First, I apply Goop Tinted Matt Sunscreen (blurs my pores), then I apply the Nude Rose Color to my upper cheekbones and up toward my outer eyes and hair line, to my forehead hairline to contour and under my jowls down the sides of my neck to my collar bone (as shown in one of the Boom videos). Thank you for doing this review for us!
That sunscreen really blurs ur pores? I have a hard time finding that in a sunscreen.. I’ll try that nude rose stick I do make up this way since Covid so easy .. it’s just making it last
I love this look. You look refreshed without appearing to look like you are trying to be something you’re not. I use the Ilia products for a similar look but I love the ingredients you mentioned in Boom.
Nope, doesn't give enough coverage, which left your face looking too pink.
maybe the illuminator, but the rest seems ordinary. thanks for reviewing this line! i will not be buying it as my face is pretty shiny after all my serums and moisturizers, even at 67 1/2! i also appreciated your review of Jones Road, which was very sticky and shiny. you have saved me some money!
that is NOT Cindy Joseph!
Cindy Joseph passed away a couple of years ago.
Cindy , the creator, passed away many years ago . I remember when it came out and had to try it. This kind of bothers me the company is calling this lady Cindy Joseph.🤔
@@susiejochesney they are not. I think Kimberly pulled up the wrong photo🙃
BTW - Cindy died of cancer in 2018 at the age of 67.
How sad! So young!
So sad😢
Cindy who ?
@@joansmith6844the founder of Boom, Cindy Joseph
@@margarethayes4106 oh Ty
I love your natural look. It is amazing. I ordered it many years ago and it wasn't my thing, but times have changed. I will definitely place an order because of your video. Thank you
The BOOM Trio is a great quick throw-it-on and go. I’ve been using them forever. Still love them! And what sold me was Cindy’s attitude about aging gracefully and beautifully. And so grateful that her company has kept her lovely spirit. I miss her so much!!! (The photo of the woman at the front of the video, although pretty, is not Cindy Joseph. Cindy was an OMG stunning woman with a light surrounding her!)
So grateful you tried this line since I see the ads for it often and was a little curious. However, I saw NO benefits or enhancing performance at all. This is a hard pass for me😮. Definitely a NO
I don’t like the hairline highlight, and it seems to me to have worn off everywhere else on your face. That seemed to happen as your video continued. Maybe a good lipstick? Thanks for the review.
This line appears to contain very clean, quality, cruelty free products which I respect. I am impressed with the glow stick that you used and I think the moisturizer would be a great choice for those with drier skin types. I am still pretty oily even at nearly 64 and use very light weight moisturizers. Thank you for delving in and giving a first impressions review. I always enjoy your makeup videos.
❤I'm 68 & Feeling Great ❤ I moisturize Everyday ❤Since I work out doors. I only wear make up on Special occasions. Would like to try Organic Cruility Free makeup 💄 it's just enough. ❤
I's a light, natural, healthy look that gives a pop of colour and a lovely glow. It looks really good on you.👍✨
The audio on this video was very distracting. It sounded like I was watching an ultrasound.
Hi Kimberly, I’m guessing you have discovered by now, that Cindy Joseph has passed away and the photo you posted is not of Cindy Joseph.
❤🎉Hi Kimberly 👋 From Cali Girl 👧 ❤🎉San Diego ❤️ California 🇺🇸
i like the idea of a light, fresh look, but feel the line needs at least a minimal coverage tinted moisturizer to even out skin tone. without a slightly unified skin tone, the highlighter stick just looks like oily skin
You look like you need some powder and concealer. So if you added that and you love the ingredients of the color stick then great go for it.
Tried them. Tossed them!
I want to try it. Think I’d have to have some concealer for my dark circles though.
Not for me. Maybe with a quality light foundation, tinted moisturizer or SPF but that defeats the purpose of the product and as well at that point you could use your stash of cream blush or bronzer to achieve similar results. Thank you for the review.
I’ve been using the original BOOM since Cindy Joseph began the line. I do not like their mascara or brow products on me. I love how clean their products are. I have to reapply the trio through the day to keep the color or use a make up setting spray.
I don’t think that pic is Cindy Joseph.
Im 61 and have been using the Boom color stick for quite a while. I love it! I don’t wear foundation, concealer or eye shadow. I’m a simple kinda gal🙂
I am 69 and used boom for a long time. However, my age spots and redness do better with a corrector. I use perbelle cc cream and have continued to use that then add color with bronzer and blush...or just blush. I'd love to see you review Jones Road and Perbelle...I tried Jones Road but it is just sheer coverage like Boom.
I read Cindy Joseph’s story and it’s remarkable - these products enhance a woman’s beauty not hide it! We should embrace who we are at any age - love the clean concept and to be honest Kim, for a minimalist product it made you look healthy and radiant! Definitely purchasing these products - liked that mascara and brow too! Thanks for the review ❤
Cindy Joseph passed at 67 yo in 2018🙏
Oh, how sad....I hadn't heard about her passing.
I’m 66 and I don’t wear much make up at all But I feel these products are high for my lifestyle right now! But I appreciate you showing us the line I had been wondering about Boom products!
I think under eye concealer would be a good addition. It looks pretty but I would personally wear this over my foundation.
Hi Kimberly. The colors look good on you. I need more coverage due to age spots. I wish I could just , Boom and go but unfortunately I need a little more camouflage. 😂 Thank you for letting us know about this product, it sounds wonderful!
The photo of Cindy Joseph. Is not Cindy Joseph.
I've used Boomsticks as part of my makeup "wardrobe" for years and years. I really love it and love how clean it is. I'm glad that Cindy's son carries on her legacy and dedication to clean ingredients.
I use it on days where I just want that very light fresh look. I must say that I have gone through many more glimmer sticks than the other sticks. I use it as a very light bronzer and I have never found a more beautiful one or one that blends so easily!
I have always wondered about this line. Sad that Cindy passed away in 2018. 😢 I would have to use a tinted moisturizer with these due to there being no product to even out all over skin tone.
That's not Cindy's picture
Because you asked: To me, the result looks like you have sunburn, and it looks too greasy for me. I would not want to use it.
Its a No for me!❤
I would be willing to give Boom a try, but I’m really liking your pretty top! Where did you get it?
Your experience was totally my experience too! I'd really love for you to try/review RMS beauty products and the Tir Tir foundation line. 💕
Have been using for a few years. I don't wear makeup every day, so I use as a highlighter/color mostly, but also use with foundation, which gives me a more finished look, quickly and a more natural/simple look. Lasts a long time and I also use the moisturizer on my brows to help hold them. Again, simple, quick, and natural. I originally bought because of the organic and clean ingredients which is important to me. Will continue to purchase. FYI - 72 years young.
I use the peachy stick everyday and love the look. For easy days with very light makeup, it's perfect.
Cindy Joseph was beautiful. Sadly she passed away in 2018
Who was she ?
@@joansmith6844 the founder of Boom cosmetics
@@joansmith6844Really??? Did you watch the video?
@@DMV8662 yep .. iv never ever heard of her before .. not her or this make up - there’s actually more about her then what IS said in this video , I did some research .. amazing lady but you ?? … ummmm 🤨 🥴😵💫 that nose ring gots to go girl .. come on man what are you 60 years old .. Botox would do u good 👍 exp in the forehead are .. uggghh u poor thing
Won’t use without foundation
Kimberly, please try RMS beauty.
Don’t care for it! I love my Seint! To me it’s the best! Just my opinion!
I agree, I have no reason to switch but glad there is a clean line out there. But nowadays all I use is my seint; it has coverage, but still looks like skin. ❤
Why don't you use sunscreen?
I have the BOOM sticks & use them on days when i dont want to wear full makeup. I like the natural ingredients and the concept of using something beneficial for my skin. I actually love the size of them as they're easy to locate in your bag😁. I think it gives you a nice natural healthy look.
Interesting that these products are clean organic, Cindy Joseph passed away from a rare form of cancer .
Beautiful summer look for you - very easy breezy for a trip to the grocery store, etc. At nearly 68, I’ve been using for years, before there was a color choice, or eye products, over a tinted sunscreen.
Unfortunately it is a big NO for me. I've tried it 3x and have not liked it. I have other cream products that do an amazing job. :)
never heard of this line -there are SO many brands now , and can you purchase this at a store?
Its ok for super basics when I'm just wearing around the house so i don't look ghastly to me. For brows and eyelashes use castor oil overnight. Omg its fabulous!!!
Please check on the photo you posted - is that really Cindy Joseph? I don't think so.
It is not Cindy!
I’ve been using the blush stick for years over foundation. Get coverage and glowy look. 😊
Yes...not at all impressed.
I have tried and really ❤!!! The Ogee line. It's somwhat similar to boom, as the overall look is minimal & quite natural looking.
Ogee does have complexion (foundadtion) stick's - beautiful soft color's - lipsticks & mascara, etc.
(a somewhat pricey line though)
I tried it and fell in love - have no desire to yry any other line!
their color sticks have beautiful color's , soft and transparent., but
buildable for heightened color.
If you do decide to go for it Kimberly...imo the 'golden' color kit is more attractive & natural looking than the other choice - (dont recall the name, but its more of a rose/pink hue.
Soft, somewhat powdery, but long lasting lipstick colors - soft matte finish - but not too matte.
The 'Linden' foundation stick is the one I use. Think it would look great on you too, Kimberly 😊
Absolutely LOVE Boom. Have you see for ten plus years (Boom Silk, Nectar, and original trio. Huge fan of the late Cindy Joseph. I do use eyeliner, sometimes shadow and tubing mascara. I also use a light foundation on special occasions. My skin is very dry and Boom is just the ticket.
I like the idea of this (reminds me of the Jones Road concept) as I don’t wear makeup daily. I have wondered about trying these… but I think I would like them to add a bronzer/contour color. I don’t like the way dusty rose looks on your forehead. Looks sunburnt, like you forgot to put your SPF on a sunny day. Thanks for the review! That was great!
I’m not sure what I just watched😂. Sorry but you look like you had a little bit to much tequila. This and Johns Road are just not make up. Sorry ,you asked🤷♀️😄
Kimberly, you look 100% prettier when you do your makeup with base, concealer, bronzer, blush, brows and mascara. Thank you for the review, I’m happy I never purchased.
I'm sorry, this is not a comment on the Boom products. I’m just not sure how else to make contact with Kimberly's viewers. I'm wondering if I missed a Pretty Over Fifty video on collagen. If so, can someone please direct me to it? I'm not “tech savvy” in the least, and I appreciate any help provided.
That is something you can put together yourself. Pretty colors, but I don't know anybody over 60 that couldn;t use something to at least cover some da-dads.(me) Or just use moisturizer!
I like their makeup, but the moisturizer left a yellow stain on my clothes and pillowcase.
I'm 62 years old and I don't think it's enough. It doesn't cover any imperfections. I like sheer coverage but I do like to have some coverage This has none. Maybe for just a blush and lipstick. I'm curious how long lasting it is.
Thanks for the review. I always thought Boom was a little gimmicky. My mom got the same results from a tube of inexpensive Revlon lipstick when I was growing up.
Would not be for my older face. Not enough coverage. It makes every imperfection more noticeable imo. Maybe ok if you were going to play a sport. You usually look better using other products. Thanks for doing this for us. Informative.
Hi! I am 71 and have used Boom for several years. I love the line and have many of the products. I agree that the ingredients are natural and pure. I love that. I continue to try new products released by Boom and have not been disappointed. ❤
Thank you for your video. I appreciate your take. I was curious but I give this a pass for what I enjoy in makeup. I'm 62.
I really respect your channel so forgive me for my opinion..
I think as a older woman I would use these products after I put on a foundation base..
I think on youth skin they would look lovely..
Still thanks for video..
🪻💜
That is what I do
I would love to see her do a re-do with some tinted moisturizer or a foundation as well.
Thanks, you did me a huge service. You are naturally pretty however we need a little concealer as we age. I think I’m going to buy it but definitely wear with a concealer and I like the ingredients...so it’s a yes. I’m 70.
Hi Kimberly, I would love for you to do an entire face of RMS beauty 😍
I'm cracking up! Just finished filming that 30 minutes ago . . .
@@PrettyOverFifty YAY!!!! So excited to see it❤❤❤
