@@dragonage200 While not common, I have heard other pilots say that or something like for various reason... When I was a student pilot practicing soft field take offs my instructor and I specifically would ask for a rolling take off, no hold short nor on threshold (line up and wait / the old phrase: position and hold).
But what you're supposed to say is repeat your clearance.
Pilots though can say improper phraseology so long as the controller understands; and if they don't they can ask to clarify.
I don't find anything wrong with his "on the roll"... so long as he repeated his clearance too.

WOW, absolutely incredible, and with Harrison Ford both flying and narrating, it couldn't have been anything less! Yes, I too, grew up having dreams of flying. In the beginning, I would start flapping my arms as hard as I could and just be able to lift my feet off the ground just a few inches. Little by little, dream by dream, my frantic arm flapping took me higher and higher, but only a few feet. But then one dream, I got up high enough to meet the dreaded telephone lines, but I couldn't get beyond them. As my dreams progressed, I needed only to flap my arms a few times and I would start gracefully soaring up into the sky,and soon past those dreaded telephone lines. I would go higher and higher into the sky; higher than the tallest skyscrapers and through the clouds, up into the highest parts of the Atmosphere. When I got as high as I wanted in a dream, I would point my body back towards Earth, and just like Superman, which is most likely why I flew just like him ( LOL ), I would rocket back down to earth. But my dreams didn't end there. I would launch myself into the air, just like Superman, I would leave our atmosphere , head into space and keep going, willing myself to go higher and higher, farther & farther. I would leave our own galaxy behind and keep willing myself to go on & on, to the point to where there were no more galaxies. I would find myself at the very edge of the Universe; a dark and quiet place indeed. I always had a strange feeling whenever I had those particular dreams. Then, I would turn myself around and head back. Thankfully, I never got lost..LOL..!! I am 67 now and haven't had those dreams in many years, but I still have fond memories of them. Sadly, I never became a pilot, but I did spend 4 years in the Navy in an aviation squadron and got to work with some awesome planes and those few, short years are the highlight of my young adult Life. I have wished so many times over the years that I would have stayed in the Navy, or possibly even gotten into the Air Force ( as enlisted ), but I was young and all of my best friends were getting out, and I never tried to discuss my future with any of the officers or anyone else in the squadron, and so I got out.

It started with me before birth - dad was a private pilot, had his own Cessna 172. By 5, I had seen more air shows than most people see in a lifetime. At 10, I wrote a page on what I wanted to be when I grew up - a USAF pilot. By 26, I was. The dream was fed by my father, and by small grass airstrips, and drinking a bottle of some soda or another out of the really old Coke bottle dispenser inside the hangar while peeking in the windows of every Citabria, Navion, 150 and Cub tied down to the grass. It was fed by the Thunderbirds, the Blue Angels and 101 different guys turning a Pitts inside-out. Then it was fueled by hard work, passion, and by a General who believed in me enough to take my crazy letter to him seriously - "Sir, I am going to fly those jets out on your ramp. Just wanted to let you know. I am enlisting as an F-16 crew chief with your unit, and nothing is going to stop me from making it." First civilian flight school, private, commercial, instrument, then CFI, multi, then CFII, then working jobs that paid so low that I had to deliver pizza for 50 hours every week to support my flying habit. Then a conversation in the back of what we called "the bread truck" - takes pilots to/from the ramp. "We chose you. You're going to UPT." Then he put his head back down into the paperwork for the jet - writing up one squawk or another while I sat there dazed. I went. I worked. I graduated. I did things that even John Gillespie Magee Junior didn't think of. I wish my mind was a video recorder - I would share them all with you. Looping a jet starting from 10,000' and 500 knots, scraping the belly inverted at 20,000' at the top of the loop, then perfectly hitting my own wake back down at 10K as I hit airspeed and altitude perfectly again 10,000' exactly at 500 knots once again. The first look in the mirror was the best - some of our jets have mirrors for formation flight - like the Tweet of long ago. First solo, tip them towards yourself and marvel that you are the guy you watched at the air shows and on the Discovery Channel - I'm that guy. That's me in the mirror. That's my flight suit - I earned it. That cool-looking helmet hides an embarrassingly large grin.

Harrison, you don’t just act, you live it, and that’s what makes you more believable than most other actors. You set your goals, follow your dreams and make them come true; and in that alone motivates others to do the same. Then when you talk about what you’ve done and where you want to go, you light a fire under the rest of us to follow our dreams. Keep on flying, Harrison! We’ll fly with you!

People spend more money on buying fancy iphones, netflix subscriptions, buying new cars every 5 years, fancy restaurants, resort vacations etc.. which will add up to a lot more than what it takes to fly. Harrison Ford can do all that and still fly, but for most of us it is a matter of prioritizing.
