3:09 Damn, utter disrespect for the Moonveil, making it look like a butter knife.
The moveset of it is just so badass. Especially with something like piercing fang or sword dance.
Instead of piercing fang, try impaling thrust. Yeah, it does a little less damage and tracks a bit less with less range but it comes out faster and is still piercing damage for counter damage. With the KGS and BKGS it also has in interaction with R2---you can follow up with one with greatly reduced animation time, its great. Also, impaling thrust counts as an R1 starter for some reason so if you press R1 immediately afterwards you begin the R1 combo at hit #2, which is the quick one to the upper right, also nice.

I think if they do add it, the crouch poke should not be with it. Keep that on only the claymore for balance and relevance

Especially if it would be a somber weapon, both claymore & knights GS would still have a place due to customizable weapon skills.

I like at 5:50, the host was just rolling around when he could have helped kill you. If he was paying attention to anything, even sound , he would have known you werent a threat at that moment. Situational awareness is truly the most important part of pvp, what seperates the men from the boys, and what makes from pvp so enjoyable. Where you are and the situation youre in is always important in any PVP, but not in a way that makes for unique experiences quite like from pvp.

Oh I’ve loved the knight’s greatsword with quickstep for so long now it’s really cool seeing it in action in an invasion rather than the duels that I use it in. I usually powerstance it with the claymore so I can swap between the two movesets comfortably, off handing the claymore main handing the knight’s sword- really fun combo!

Glad to see you using the knights GS, imo it’s the best PVP weapon in the game for duels, the burst potential is HUGE, if you do decide to put something like impaling thrust or swords dance as the AoW you can delete people in 1 read, absolutely crazy weapon

As for recommendations; the OG DS3 setup of SS + off-hand caestus is unironically good now. R1-L1-R1-L1-etc. with this setup continuously hitstuns and prevents your opponent from mashing out of hitstun. I made a 80 faith build and did this with Coded Sword + Cipher Pata, it was pretty disguisting, lol..

Funny. Over a year ago we had very close duels when I used KGS with Quickstep. Back then almost noone seems to have used that. Good to hear it is still awesome and more people realized that. (Even though that is not always a positive)

You should do a one weapon/many ashes video on the Knights Greatsword like you did about a month ago with the Claymore. It's really fun watching you quickswap with just one weapon but with different utilities so it looks like you have a highly varied move set.

I enjoy dragon bite, hyperarmor is nuts, and I can oneshot in small aoe in front of me. Cast it to bait someone trying to bumrush, thinking it's a breath, to then die once they realize they just jumped into the maw.

Chase should do a full faith support build to help the PvE, although there might come a time where there's no PvE to support and so he must have a good faith weapon; I suggest St. Trina's Torch due to its synergy with faith builds.
Chase you should try out lightning slash into placidusax's ruin. pretty sure its a true combo and I don't think there's anything more flashy in the game!

I honestly love all the normal smithing stone greatswords. Iron is the best, well the highest damage anyway. Banished knights and knights are great for the true combo, and claymore is great for the pokey. Claymore I think is my favorite, even if it's a little bit lower damage than some I have a lot of luck with the poke. Throw Piercing fang and shard of alexander for a good time. Pierce is a great damage type, so many bosses are weak to it.

Chase oi! As if the KGS needed another reason to be awesome but I discovered the fully charged R2 true combos into an R1. Not quite as usable as the JR1 into R1 but it’s a nice addition. Cheers for the vids, sir!

I'm gonna have to try this weapon at some point. It has the same moveset as the Hollowslayer GS in DS3, one of my favorite weapons. My first ER playthrough I used the Lordsworn GS, which uses the same model as Hollowslayer, but has a standard GS moveset instead. Since I've already done the Hollowslayer drip, now I need to do the Hollowslayer style!
Alternate title: Chase cheats on the claymore for 20 minutes
There is actually a 3 hit true combo with it. The third R1 if you look directly left of your target will manifest the hitbox inside your target at the same point the second R1 ended.
If your opponent starts at 12'oclock, aim R1(1) at 1'oclock. R1(2) at 3'oclock, R1(3) at 9'oclock.
Now, this part is speculative, but I found that ungabunga monkey brain R1 spammers really love to eat guard counters from this thing. And while I'm not 100% sure it's a true combo, I've never missed it yet. Guard counter into the 2nd to 3rd 2 hit true combo, giving you a 3 hit (potentially) true combo starting with a heavy guard counter.
This almost always 100-0's people. Also, Fromsoft gave the animations some serious love with this thing. The little flairs you do after each swing are so nice.
It really ruins the other Greatswords for me, even if they have cool AoW, damage, or unique R2s. I just can't use their shitty R1 chains that look more fitting of a colossal sword as your character struggles to slam them into the ground.
Watching since the days of DS3, and I can still barely believe that Invaders are somehow at an even greater disadvantage in ER than DS3, at least there's no Giant Seed
I dont know if youve tried it, but you should do a curved greatsword video. If you half charge the r2 after an r1 hitstun, it is the perfect roll catch. Ive 2 shotted plenty of phantoms with that method, super satisfying.

I'd be interested to see if the Inseparable Sword would outperform the BK/K Greatsword(s) on a dedicated faith setup, this moveset with sacred blade and all of the good faith buffs would definitely put in some work. That said it'd probably still be better to just use the standard swords because of Ash swapping and whatnot, but it's still an interesting weapon regardless

I feel like you overlook the uses of ashe of wars as tools. You dont need damage, but always being able to break pressure with something like storm stomp or catch rolls easy with sword dance. Its probably just sword dance thats op, but its so good at staying in peoples face and greatswords love that. Plus crowd control. The backstabs from quickstep is probably just better though.

My favorite weapon art to put on the [banished] knights greatsword is impaling thrust because the final attack of the r1 combo puts the sword in the exact position of the start of impaling thrust. I don't know if this actually removes the wind up but it looks cool as hell

banished knight has a bit better damage on strength builds, but knights gs has more range. It is really just preference at that point!

Don't quote me on this but the claymore's R2s might be easier to land since all the active frames go towards the target, while the others greatswords' circular motionhave a very short window. I wouldn't know though, I use iron gs
Charged R2s are fast with the grafted dragons head. Wanna see law of causality with endure and fist weapons or daggers.
