I am a 70 year old woman and never done this before. It worked perfectly. Thank you!! It made my day to be able to do this myself.
That is awesome!👍
Small suggestion: allow the camera to close up on what you're actually doing, where your turning, what your grabbing with the tools. Your head was in the way. This is a great video for people who already know what to do.
I (age 67) was having difficulty figuring how to best reach the supply line using both wrenches. Zooming in on your video at that step was so helpful that I then successfully loosened the bolt and was done in minutes and became my wife's hero! Thank you.
You just saved me $245 for having to call a plumber out--yes, that's what they told me they charge just for the callout. I did this myself for $2.70...the local Home Depot gave me a deal on a $6.45 line, because the last one frayed. I'm so proud of myself! I am a 64yo female that is afraid to DIY, but I'm gaining confidence!!! And this video was really awesome...you're not bad to look at either!!! LOL ;)
Nice one carol
Thank you for making the video. Very easy & straight forward.
Great video. Thanks for the clear and concise information. Exactly what I needed to do the job.
Just the guidance I needed to do this job for the first time myself. Thank you!
I have watched other and attempted to remove a cheap plastic line it never worked until now! I finally say have my bidet installed. You have a new sub. Happy Holidays ☺️
Thank you for explaining in detail what I need to do. You made it so easy.
Thanks for the video. My fittings were different but still helpful. Knowing which way turn the fitting helped, although the angle is tough when you are hugging toilet. I fixed the toilet at work. Yay
Thank you. Clear, concise, effective. Your da man. Appreciate you.
If you could do this and put the camera on the floor to get where you hold the valve with the pliers would help. Thanks
Yes sir, I have to change a toilet supply line today, watched your video & now I know how to do it. I'm good now thanks for the DIY video!!
This is the second one for the basement bat. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOuLt8IL_GxhhaK8DBuKEL-zV0UJVpWZn , works great
Very informative Craig! Thank You :)
Thank you!!! I am about to try it!
Thank you so much. This was very helpful 😊
Awesome! Now we know how to fix it here. Thanks a lot!😍😊👌😊🤗
My basement toilet has the copper line at the back. It still works good but if it ever had to be replaced I know how it's done because I watched this very awesome video!
Wow, you made this a can-do sort of day!!!
Great video, very well explained, thanks!
Thanks our toilet was leaking and we are going to try this ourselves
A good video. Couple of suggestions, when you screw off the top nut that is closest to the toilet, hold the piece inside so that when you screw it off and the new one on, it does not shift, otherwise you break a seal where there is a large nut that snugs up the main piece in the toilet or move it and you don’t want to do that. You might have to snug up a washer/bolt that sits above the line and you might have to snug that up. Also as you are tightening the bolt down on top of the valve hold the flexible line so it does not twist to weaken it.
This made my day much easier ur the best see ya in the next fix god bless
I was very clear and understandable. I will replace the flexible hose.
Thank you so much!
i like your "no bullshit" style!! thanks!!
Excellent
Thank you!
Good job and thanks for the video
Great video. Really helped me
Thanks for the video. I just saw ours and there some water pooling at the bottom. I was freaking out! What brand is good?
Great thanks about to do this
Thanks bro💯💯💯
Thanks I'm at Walmart now getting the parts
Can you do a close-up of how to remove the part with the plastic connection to the toilet tank? I'm not able to get that part off to connect a bidet. It's super tight. Do I use a tool and should I be turning it left to remove?
At 1:50 - that’s what is stuff for me!! Won’t budge!! Any suggestions? Husband is strong and even he couldn’t move it a bit!!
Hi, the toilet in my new unit is an old toilet from the 70's and has a supply line like the one you showed but it seems to be fixed into the toilet cistern (screws and connection is plastic) and the water supply valve's is metal. I removed the screws and the metal supply line pipe looks like it is attached into it. Is this common with old toilets? Does this sound like something that would be an easy fix?? Thanks
Thank you for posting this! Has anyone had where the piece inside the tank spins when you’re trying to loosen the piece attached to the actual toilet?
Yes, you’ll have to reach into the tank and hold the nut in there while unscrewing it from below.
Great video. My Toilet has a leak at the location of the connector hose to the toilet. I am planning on replacing the connector hose to the braided type ( I have the old straight rigid type ). Would I have to replace the bullock shank washer as well? I hope not as I don't know how to do that. :o).
We can't see anything and don't know which way we're supposed to loosen it .
" lefty loosy, righty tightly" ??
My leak is coming from just underneath where are you tightened the supply line, looks like a metal piece right before the floor. What is that piece called? Thank you.
The connection to the water supply on my supply line is impossible to remove! Any tips?
Thank you
What if my short arms can’t wrap around the toilet? Any help?
I can’t get the supply line tightening nut off… any ideas?
Just saved myself $180!!
I think life means the life of the flexible connector not our life!
what is the tightening nut on the bottom of the supply line won't budge? i am applying pressure and wiggling mine, but it is not moving and i am afraid that i am going to break the pipe from the shut off value. i live in a condo building and can't shut off the main water line.
I have the same problem right now.
@@bmdeerwester Same
@@emmt1256 i ended up just grinding the old line above the nut, then twisting that stub loose to undo the nut and replacing it.
Do you need plumbers tape on either ends?
Should we use that white tape that you put on the threads to seal it tight?
I have never found an answer to this. I'm sure it doesn't matter
Can they break?
Thx chief. Are they universal or do they differ in sizes?
I didn't realize the braided line was supposed to "last a lifetime", so when I had to replace mine, I just took the old one with me to the hardware store. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't the waterline that was leaking. It seems to be coming from the tank opening. When I tightened the line, the water came out faster, so I loosened it up a bit. It still leaked, but not as bad. My next step is to replace the floater inside the tank. Hopefully, that will fix it. Very thankful I have a spare bathroom!
I'm commenting okay. I got a good toilet what Is this piece called and how much at Lowe's or home Depot for general public advertising
PISS 😂 Just the video i needed.
On mine, loosened the nut on the end by the valve like you showed, but the pipe doesn’t come out. Should I just pull harder? Can I cut the pipe off? Is there a chance it’s actually soldered or something? It’s really stuck good. What’s the best way to remove or cut off the stuck pipe?
You ever figure this out. Think I have same problem
@@bunting298 yeah I got it. After unscrewing the nut, I just pulled the pipe a little harder and it came straight out. It had just been in there a long time I guess.
@@joe28753 that’s what I’m thinking. Just don’t want to break anything and cause a ruckus but I guess I’ll have to use a little more force to get it off
I cant turn it man it feels like its stuck. I move it a bit but it feels like its just as firm.
Well, easy enough except for when I try to unscrew the water line from the toilet no matter which way I turn it, it just keeps tightening up and I can’t get it to screw off and then when I do turn it it just turns the pump on the inside of the toilet. It’s so tight it must be stripped, now what
I’m sorry I can’t see which way you’re turning the plastic bolt near the tank.
Mine is not plastic. I think it is the original from when the house was built
😉
Thank your head very much for blocking the viewing 👌
The part he removed was better than the piece of crap he put on. You notice that the plastic nut that was on there had to be strong to hold the copper tube to the toilet didn't break but the piece of crap he put on has a plastic nut on it that is just is made so cheaply that it can easily break. JUNK!!
It’s too hard to see exactly what you’re doing. A Camera is not where it needs to be.
