The symbolism in the scene where Jounouchi is running towards red eyes is awesome. Also the shots of Mai at the end alluding to something happening to her. Loved this opening.
I feel like this arc should've been canon, it opened up the idea of the duel spirit world which future seasons would use and gave Yami a lot of character development after losing Yugi due to his actions, this was overall a very good story arc, too good to be filler

There's a lot of people that have no clue that Yugioh is originally a manga and the anime butchered it. Also, the real life card game is an altered form if the true card game in the manga.
Megalus Doomslayer The original Yu-Gi-Oh season 0 was made in 1998 then Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters was made in the last 2000's and made the producers WANTED it to look that way.

Wanting to be worthy of Red-Eyes. Funny how we have to assume Jounouchi beat either Atem or Yugi in a duel to get it back. I like to think it was Jounouchi and Yugi playing without their duel disks and on a desk or table like they did when Yugi was teaching him the game.

He earned his way through Battle City and beat Marik. He was already a true duelist after that. The typical Shonen fashion would be that Atem beat Jonouchi, gave a speech about his journey as a duelist, Jonouchi gives his thoughts, then accepts Red-Eyes back.

Yeah. The boss monsters look so good in GX and DM. A shame hey were 3d since 5ds. Stardust, Red Dragon, Utopia, Galaxy eyes, and the dimensional Dragons would look so good in 2D.
This is my second favorite opening for the original sub. I grew up with the horrible dub, and even tho it holds a place in my heart, if 4kids would have kept this openings I would have lost my mind. I'm bummed this full song isn't on Spotify like Overlap is I'd be jamming to it all the time.
