Just to remind anyone,
This the only song in Yugioh history to receive a theme song with Lyrics, not a instrumental. The production studio did a excellent job with the soundtrack for this series, matching the style and mood with interesting plot development in each season.
To me, no other series in Yugioh has come close to the epicness of the 5D's Era.
(After watching Sevens, 2 characters got their own insert songs, I still prefer 5ds over Sevens)

This is one of the most epic songs in all of Yugioh simply because it is the only original piece composed solely for one monster's introduction to ever grace the entire franchise (even Obelisk's Dub god theme wasn't originally composed for Obelisk, but is just an older piece of music reused and remixed)
Not to mention the execution of it's summon was just brilliant. The timing, and the way it cleared away the cloud cover creating the allusion of it being surrounded in he light of God's embrace. Just pure brilliance.

I'm so glad i watched 5Ds in Japanese just to hear this fucking awesome song, i was going to see in English Dub at first, but then i learned that they didn't dubbed the Ark Cradle Arc (which is one of my favourites 5Ds arcs), so i decided to watch 5Ds in Japanese and i'm really glad i did, just because of the awesome 5Ds japanese soundtrack.

Any and every Yu-gi-Oh should be watched in Japanese. Mostly because 4Kids translates them to be children's cartoon. The original version is alwys better. Good choice :-D

real synchro duelists during master rules 4 found a way to keep Accel Synchro Summoning alive and well, it's just easier now with the advent of Master Rules 2020

Also Needlefiber is a busted card that caused several other very cool cards to be banned and I am glad to see it gone.

This song is why 5D's was my favourite series by far. It was a slightly silly concept, but they made it EPIC with some of the coolest monster designs and music in the series.

Honestly 5ds was the least silly show of all of them. I can take it more seriously, like a anime should. 95% action, 5% jokes and filler.

You. You said everybody but Yusei became sub-par, and gave 1 episode as an example. 1 episode will hardly deteriorate an entire series' place as the best. I never managed to finish 5Ds when i was younger but i finally finished the series in JP sub almost solely to justify listening to Clear Mind for the first time. It was worth it, and brought back something that ive been missing in my heart and soul since i was a child. 5Ds gave me hope again, and in a time where "bonds" and friendship are scarce, i now have the strength to push foward and change my future. Thank you for everything, Takahashi-Sama, you will NEVER be forgotten.

You know when people say that "this song is the best anime song they've ever heard" or "that song beats all the others"? I am usually careful with such claims because most of the time they are an overexaggeration. However, after much reflection and a lot of time spent listening to different songs, I can say that, in my personal, humble and entirely subjective opinion, Clear Mind is the best song ever made in anime history.

What people (and pretty sure Konami themselves), don't realize, is that this is what we wanted Yugioh to be. 5D's in my opinion, was the most adult relatable series amongst all others, and not just because the main character was an adult himself. From episode 1, we all knew this show had something to prove. and it did, with a beautiful introduction of archetypes, synchro monsters (duh), and of course, what might just be the greatest plots ever thought up of in Yugioh history. (Don't get me wrong the original show was great but...just remember compared to 5D's, lesser rules were being broken.) I remember when I first saw Yusei reveal Shooting star dragon. I could hardly believe what I had just watched, the duel felt like an all out battle with a racing twist to it, rather than just a card game, and as the theme might suggest, I felt like I was being moved at the same time, at a very fast pace. I think what I liked most about this show is that not everything revolved around fucking yugioh. The show was abit realistic unlike Zexal and Arc-V where everything in society was related to dueling somehow. No, in 5D's it's a bit more realistic. Politics, crime, illegal racing activity, it's so much better than a childish cover up like dueling related stuff in every part of their society. Notice how the original Yugioh didn't do this either? instead they were a bit more mystic, which is nothing compared to what Arc-v and Zexal did, though they were smply just si-fi'ing the hell out of it. Now a days, the modern yugioh shows are entirely aimed at dumb kids who are privileged enough to tune into 4kids and so they have to dumb down the show for them so that it's "kid friendly". Konami should focus on the shows a bit more now that the card gamei n real life has taken a bit of a too competitive turn. I really think if they tried, and did something with as much hype as 5D's managed to produce, I truly believe more and more people will remember what we played Yugioh for. So we can be like the characters we admired with our imagination. not for the sake of winning and being better than everyone else...

Brandon Shavitz I couldn't agree with you more. They had one successful project that was 5D's. People say they can't understand the game cause it got complicated when synchros came, but they never bothered. I loved 5D's it was a childhood you could enjoy. Plus as a bonus we got one new fusion monster, thanks to yusei. Hope no one forgets this awesome series. That made Yu-Gi-Oh! Amazing.
Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS isn't too bad (I know this comment is old and all but just an update to you), it kinda has a 5D's vibe to it, but more so about the world in which they're dueling, which is basically like a full dive MMO world (Like Sword Art Online) is close to ruins. Getting major vibes with MC likeness to Yusei as well. But I do agree with your statements. 5D's was the pinnacle of the Yu-Gi-Oh Anime, and pretty much when the TCG/OCG was really actually fun. There was so many competitive decks that came, and it's almost as if none of them really had any strict way of building said decks. They were really free, and really captured what the main part of YGO Dueling was about, build your OWN deck and duel against people.

now as much as i love Yusei, you gotta admit he's a bit too perfect. I mean the other yugioh protagonists are kinda only good at duels. But Yusei? He's like a fucking engineer programmer physician scientist duelist who can build a fricking motorcycle from scrape. Yusei is like the batman of the yugioh protagonists.
+Bukacake it's actually the other way around, the 2 before him are the perfect cliche of protagonists " the teenager that has relationships issues / is good at nothing but duel but gets friends through the game ) Yusei is the one who is always believing in himself and doesn't need his friends to help him but is the one who saves the day
Yeah but Yugi had the assistance of an op Pharaoh to guide him and Judai was a wonderboy who just beat everyone at the academy and also had the assistance of a dueling spirit (Yubel).Yusei may had the Crimson Dragon power but think about it,he lost his parents,he was an orphan,he grew up using his own intelligence and his power.The other two were awesome as well but they had they didn t have a harsh past like yusei.We know very few things about Yugi's and Judai's past if you think about it.(unlike Kaiba for example)
Yami Yugi has been shown to fight really well and is the king of ALL games (not just card games, even tho that's his game of choice). Jaden is the reincarnation of The Supreme King, who uses the Gentle Darkness, with enough power to take control over the 7 dimensions (It has been stated that he has the power, but has never performed it) and make his duels look like DBZ powerups.
Yusei is the only one who didn't start off being special but used his own skills to do it. Of course, he became a Signer afterwards but still.
well yeah isn't that a good thing though? why does every other series try so hard to shove the card game down our throats, other than to make us buy their crap? In 5D's, it wasn't all about dueling. it was all about survival. Besides I don't think he's perfect just because he can engineer like a boss. for me it's the fact that he wasn't a pussy ass who became pessimistic ever. he went full throttle into every duel treating them like it's his last. Yami wasn't ever allowed to have this kind of complex character development because he was dubbed "king of games". so as such never lost a game. except to kaiba that one time.

1) Did a Maxx C on turn 1
2) Managed to work around Crystal Clear Wing's immunity effect with Samurai Destroyer
3) Ash'd me twice (on both occasions I had a work around)
4) Used Torrential Tribute to kill one of my turns on the spot and work around Crystal Wing's effect (only works on monsters)
5) Did absolutely nothing when I got Kitedrake immediately after I praised him for making me work my ass off for 500 medals.
