HP Spectre x360 boot to Bios and how to boot from USB

- In this video im going over how to boot a HP Spectre x360 in to the Bios, without having to load in to windows first.
Also how i managed to boot up windows 10 from a USB on this model

I have x360 13 latest 2020 and I cant find same options in my notebook bios. So I cant use usb drive to boot from it. I need to boot from usb and run secure erase.
There is no options to enable legacy mode.
We're you able to install windows? Im stuck in same spot. New hard drive but can't install Windows no legacy
@@TronTonics Make flash drive from Win10 ISO with Rufus. Choose MBR, UEFI+Legacy. You must be able to boot in UEFI mode from this flash drive.

What are typical temperatures for spectre 13' ? Its maxing around 95' when cpu clock boosts to 4ghz.... should I worry?

No dice... have an older unit with no usb c ports and no matter what usb 3 I use the win 10 installer is not seen.

@@rickstechrepairs: Solution = unit offers legacy mode. Makes the only usb ports, USB 3.0, act like USB 2.0 ports. Making this change allows the bios to see the bootable thumb drive. Remember to switch legacy mode back off in the bios so your system operates at peek capabilities. Also it may not boot to the installed OS if you don't.

I did the USB bootable drive as instructed but when trying to boot the PC, there is a screen to install window. I was expecting to be able to directly boot from it. This screen is scary as I do not want to re-install window. I just want to temporarily boot from the USB drive
What are you trying to boot from the usb?
If you made the windows 10 media creator tool , its sole purpose is to wipe and reinstall windows 10
Search for some WinPE ISO and make bootable drive with it. For instance Strelec english version. You will be able to boot from this drive and do variety of tasks, like troubleshooting current windows installation or hardware (for example, update ssd firmware etc).
Does it have backlit keyboard? if yes. Mine is not lighting up

Huh. I thought I was the only one who couldn't boot from USB a port. That's really weird. You would think it's the other way round

I plan to buy Envy 15 Ryzen 5 and heard there were issues installing Linux Mint?
Unless you the computer has nVidia and Broadcom wifi drivers, you should not have any problems. AMD and Intel drivers are pre-installed on Linux Mint ISO.

@@weekendpartier No, it should not be a problem. Linux Mint and most operating systems nowadays have full support for UEFI, so there should not a be any problem. My HP Pavilion laptop uses UEFI by default and I had installed Linux Mint and multiple Linux distros on it. No problem at all.
