I saw the original Rocking Chair Video a few years ago, and wondered whatever happened to the camp. NOW, we know the rest of the story! Thank you ALL for sharing your family memories.
I enjoyed this so much, before I knew it, it was over. What a history and entertaining stories. Thank you for your hard work and sharing this with us. God bless.
@@discovertheup Looking very much forward to it. Thank you! I will actually be moving to Delta County/Escanaba for retirement next May after being in Southwest Florida the last 17 years, I can hardly wait to get to the U.P. Your videos have been of an immense help to me in my journey to get to Michigan!
I grew up going my wv deer camp. Commuting from MD every year for this tradition every thanksgiving week. Took me 33 yrs to realize,it's not about getting a deer..It's about fellowship, drinking, good food, relaxing away from the rush that is life. Good luck everyone!!
For those who have never experienced a hunting camp they are really missing out. I was lucky enough that my dad took me to his camp 32 years ago, many guys have left and others came. However my dad and I have not missed a year together in those 32 years. Many others have 20+ years with us, it’s not about the kill, it’s way more about the camp together.
I think it's pretty awesome that the rocket chair dear camp is carrying under to tradition. You know open keeps going? I've always wanted to have a camp like that with friends but set the blues and all the property to the I was carried taker of so I guess. It just me anymore nobody else wants me anymore.
Knocked it out of the park! Thank you so much for coming out, all of us enjoyed updating and honoring our Dad/Grandads story.
Ive watched the original probably 100 times, absolutly love it, just like our camp in pa that was started in the 50’s
We rewatch the Rocking Chair camp video at least 2-3x a year. It’s incredible, thank you for putting this together!
The Rocking Chair video is such a beautiful representation of what deer camp means to a lot of people. Thanks for sharing

The old photos and the old man's narration is the best!
I've been a fan of the video for many years. I love taking a step back in time. Back when things were simple.
Well done! It's great to see that others value the traditions of Deer Camp. Congratulations to the video crew for a great show.
Thank you from this video crew of one 😁!
@@discovertheup All the more impressive that you did it solo. That's the nature of video production these days. Thanks for the good work you produce.
I could listen to old timers tell stories all day
Agreed 👍

I wondered too. I was happy when they contacted me for a story!
66 and still love my hunting camp ...the only one left anymore the best memory's of family and friends ... And still making them...
What an absolutely awesome followup to the greatest hunting video ever made. Thank you
This was great. Doesn't matter how much money you make you can't buy memories, you can only make them yourself.
Watched the original, many times! Textbook traditional camp! I'm glad it's back in familiar hands!

Way better than Michigan out of doors
Is there a way to share the video that you mentioned in this video!
I included a link in the episode description but here is the link too: ruclips.net/video/Ib8_8gwqezM/видео.htmlsi=bE-OZHioslGZjRLx
@ thanks!!
Would love to hear how they got a bear
Listen to the full interview I posted on Friday!
Saw 0 deer in the UP. Nice job introducing the wolves. At least the liberals in Royal Oak that never go out in the woods are happy 🤣
Do they all pitch in for hunting camp cost
The two pitched in together to purchase the Rocking Chair camp. I imagine the other guys share the cost of any lease fee on their camp.
