Amazing as usual!!!
Brasil here!!!!!!
Go ahead my man, do all 13 tracks it just gets better and better! Awesome album!
This was the last show for this Guitar, and has been replaced, I think by another Ovation. This one was purchased by a supportive fan, Matthew Fraser (who does drum covers on his RUclips channel), during their Kickstarter campaign for the new album. It was handed over to him at the end of this show. If you know who to look for you can spot him in the front row in some of the videos of this show.
I'm A big fan of "The Warning" and I like your honest reaction!..and also that your intrigued to want to hear more...That's how we (their fans) started!😉😊
Great song, great reaction, and it just keeps getting better from here. Thank you for highlighting The Warning on your channel. Tthey are an independent band without the music industry machine behind them and thanks to you, and people like you, they are reaching an ever widening audience. Can't wait till the next review. Thanks again
Stay Warned....
Everybody is reminded of something when they listen to The Warning. People can't usually decide what.
Reminds me of The group Heart. Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson But even better. Bravo to The WARNING.
Brian! Great to see you "around" more so I take it you are feeling much better and the road to a full return to health is getting shorter and shorter? I hope you are doing much better my friend! Lots of new fun and great rocking on the horizon! \m/
@@jbartyparty7398 Hey my friend. I'm in a group called -UK& Ireland fan group of The Warning. We have fans from close to 70 countries. I'm a Rising star Rank in less than 2 to months. I love it here. The Warning sends there love to us all the time. We are a group close to 800 fans. And gaining more fans by the week. And I live in Columbus, Ohio. But was accepted with open arms. By the way my parents of Mom and Dad are born in Ireland. So I am a 2nd generation Irish American.
@@brianmoran5705got a link to the group Brian ?
This is the slowest/mildest song on the Queen of the Murder Scene album and kind of sets up the rest. 1. Dust to Dust; 2. Crimson Queen; 3. Ugh; 4. The One; 5. Stalker; 6. Red Hands Never Fade; 7. The Sacrifice; 8. Sinister Smiles; 9. Dull Knives (Cut Better); 10. Queen of the Murder Scene; 11. P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C.; 12. Hunter; 13. The End (Stars Always Seem To Fade)
Ok crowborough...I appreciate your honest assessment. It's no secret that I think these girls will eventually cure cancer and am a HUGE fan. It's refreshing to watch your evolution from basically scoffing at them (my opinion) in the first reaction video you did of TW, to "enjoying" it. I think I told you before to just give them a chance and they will get into your subconscious. Maybe I was right maybe not but I'm happy to see that you are giving them a chance. Thank you.
Paul, appreciate the honest reactions. Daniela Villarreal has developed into an excellent rock and roll vocalist. She worked hard to get this good. You’re correct that there is a Stevie Nicks quality to this particular melody. Stevie always has been great at writing haunting, pathos-filled love songs.
I Love the Warning.
I always hear a crackling fire around the campfire when i hear Dany's simple acoustic work.
Enjoy your reactions. Some of their newer stuff if you're still around?....anything from the Teatro performance.
Viva La Warning.....
The most difficult is, always, be simple! I think.
That ovation she is playing, has been purchased by a superfan. She now uses a different Ovation model. She must like them. 🙂
Thanks for the review. I like a different performance of this song a bit more. There was a show on their recent tour that had to be cancelled because Paulina got food poisoning, as did the other band that was partnered with them. Dany came out on stage, and played this song solo, and dedicated it to her ill sister. That particular performance was tremendous. Very Willie Nelson, or Dillon esq.
I have the same thought after watching Enoma react to Crimson Queen. That solo at MF 246 is my favourite live version. Still Patron only though. After listening to Lunario so many times, the girls sound out of breath to me a lot of the time.
Kevin W Mexico City is very high up. I would be too, and I live at 4800 ft. 🙂
@@roywall8169 I know, they live in a mountain valley, but performed up on that plateau. It was only after repeated viewings that I noticed. That Paulina can sing and drum there is amazing.
I may have been the one that planted Fleetwood Mac in your mind. I've often said this song gives me a Fleetwood Mac kind of vibe, though I can't think of a specific song it reminds me of. I could totally see Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham doing it. The album is a rollercoaster ride all the way through. I hope you enjoy it!
Paul!!! Laughing now. Appreciate your comment here. Noted about the Ovation guitar. Dany loves it so I guess it is a point of choice. What I find interesting is your comment on that simple chords but rich in sound. Keep going. Love to follow your journey through the album
A guy sitting in his home and critiquing one of the up and coming bands of the word with commentary saying the lead guitarist guitar sounds cheap. This woman has had a "Rick Toone" guitar loaned to her. Not many guitarists have had that pleasure. The Warning is amazing!
Yeah, me thinks you'll end up listening to the whole album... Great reaction. It's nice to hear honest and fair critiques. I think the sound of the guitar was intentional because if you listen to the whole album you will hear things that are unsettling in the mix as the main character devolves...
Yes,right....the guitar was meant to be tonally bone grinding to give the feel of a rusted screwdriver being driven slowly through the skull of the victim...
It reminds you to Heart!
Thanks for the reaction. Now that you mention it, there is actually a bit of Fleetwood Mac in that one.
They remind me of old Heart!
I🖤TW🤘
I like that comment: 'listen to more of the same different'. Yup you are going to hear a lot of the more same different on this album!! That's for sure.
Great reaction. Please do "Black Holes - Live @ Dakota Bar" by The Warning
Oh he'll yeah, react to the whole album, they uploaded most of the song in live version like this one, it's gonna be so interesting lml
This is probably my favorite track on the album, and yeah, the mix on the guitar probably wasn't the best, but the amount of emotion Dany puts into this is amazing! The whole album is a smorgasbord of different styles but sticks to a specific story line (i.e. concept album). There's an acoustic version from a radio station interview floating around where you can hear the guitar a lot better. 😉
I love the fact that you analyse on your reactions.
Not a boring "I liked it/didn't".
This is indeed a beautiful song. If think that the album version is even better, but it's just my opinion.
I agree, it's another good example of less is more. Dany never claimed to be (and, dare I say, doesn't aspire to be?) super complex speed shredder of the century. Good song writing and performing. Nice reaction! Thank you for it.
The longer I play guitar the more convinced I become that being a super speed shredder isn't really worth aiming at. Much more enjoyable stuff going on in other styles, to me at least.
Although it must be said, her solos have become better. Not shrederific but more complex/soulful...
@@MaddogJones I absolutely and emphatically agree!!! I LOVE her solo work. Her style mesmerizes me. I can't get enough of it. She's a BOSS!!
@@CrowboroughGuitarTuition The beautiful Spearfish guitar she uses was given to her by Rick Toone, a custom guitar luthier who makes some truly amazing instruments, because he recognised that she was using some unusual chords and felt that she was being held back by the Les Paul she had been using up to then. She took to it like a duck to water, absolutely LOVES it and most of us think that gift was the biggest single improvement in her playing.

I actually thought about Battle for Evermore during this song.
Hey Paul, thanks for taking the time to delve deeper into TW's concept album (Pau prefers "rock novel") and offer up some interesting feedback and a finer point critique I wouldn't have necessarily picked up on, which is the sound of the acoustic.
Two things on that, 1) it may be possible that the guitar was tuned to sound a bit "off" to convey a more menacing or creepier sounding tone as this is the supposed to capture the emotion-tinged expression of desperate, love-sick longing by the protagonist, who ultimately is slipping over the line into dark, obsessive "fatal attraction" like desire and 2) would the higher altitude of the CDMX venue (think it's over a 1/2 mile high, if not more) affect the strings / tuning of the instrument naturally? Perhaps giving it a less warm, and almost "tinny" tonal quality instead of the usual lush, vibrant tones you would normally get?
Thanks again and look forward to the upcoming TW reactions, more feedback and of course, comments from others! Cheers! \m/
Hey thanks for the comment. I’m not aware that altitude would have any effect. You could get a bad sound through the guitar being EQ’d badly from the desk or if the sound from the guitar ain’t that great. Just personal preference though. The Ovation sound doesn’t appear to work for me.
@@CrowboroughGuitarTuition Yeah, I wouldn't think the strings would be that sensitive but I know cold air can hurt so was hypothesizing about something I don't know enough about honestly. Could be purposeful tuning but I'm thinking you may be right in your assessment of the guitar quality. I've heard you play yours and there certainly is a good degree more warmth and vibrant richness. However, I will say that the acoustic vids I've gotten from them as a patreon reward (and played with the same Ovation) did seem to sound much better, but I'm usually too mesmerized by Dany's voice to really focus on the guitar sound. Now you've got me curious but I don't have the patreon vids available to me at work. I should have responded to this from home last night! :-)
You have to review Queen of the Murder Scene, The Sacrafice and Dull Knives by The Warning. They rock!
9 songs have been released from this concert all pro shot. All on the warning channel
Great. I check them out. Thanks.
Reminds me "I lived on the Moon", by Kwoon
Keep going, Fil. The next song on the album, UGH, is a serious rocker! That Ovation guitar (with Dany's signature) is hanging on Matthew Fraser's wall somewhere near London.
Assuming you meant Paul, not Fil 😉
@@_JD..JD_ True! That's what I get for multitasking! :)
Haha worry not. I've been called worse.
Thanks for reaction.
More 2 suggestions:
UGH - Red hands (live Lunario)
In the Dust to Dust reaction I gave Paul the links to all of the Live Lunario tracks to chapters 1 & 2. I think I saw him comment that he might go through the in order to really get the story of the album.....
@@davidhollis8771 Ok
It reminded me of Lady in Black by Ken Hensley.
Nice reaction, that’s the first time I heard that song..as you stated a good song doesn’t necessarily have virtuoso artists playing ultra technical etc, they’re normally quite boring ...ie some of Yngwie Malmsteem’s songs, yes he’s a great guitarist but are the songs coherent, warm and appealing? Not for me...simplicity can sometimes produce great songs.
Totally agree. I feel the same about many of the "virtuoso" players. Their abilities aren’t in question and I’ve got a lot of respect for what they do but I’d rather listen to a catchy song with some nice hooks.
Great, thanks. Next Ugh?
its a classic rock ballad..
Maybe there is a smidgen of likeness to Fleetwood Macs Chain. I may be way off base but it sort of reminds me of Sara Thomsen's "Is It For Freedom", but the subjects are worlds apart. I browsed around to find anything else similar but no luck. I guess we'll just have to say it's an original piece of genius! By the way, I bought the album from their website and the quality of the version on the album is fantastic. I'm willing to bet it's going to go down as one of the world's greatest ballads.
The guitar was not suppose to be warm. I think it sounds perfect. It's is suppose to be a but dark. I don't want a warm sound.
This is the only slow song on the Album
Well, if you didn't like the acoustic sound, as you say you don't, try their Foro Didi concert where the guitar wasn't picked up properly, thus this song has an a cappella feel to its beginning, which I happen to enjoy much more so than this version.
ruclips.net/video/yV8gpIrIR9s/видео.html
is it me or does Danny sound a bit like Grace Slick here?
Yeah it reminded me of another song. A little bit like Lady in Black by Uriah Heep.
Would love to see you react to some more John Mayer stuff.
Will get some more in the pipeline.
If you are thinking Fleetwood Mac then I can only think of the sing Oh, Daddy, that might have that particular angst to it.
The "style" reminds me of the haunting"style of Evanescent.
Cimson Queen......the least played song The Warning play live
If you don't like the tone of her guitar, say so, don't call it cheap & by inference, smear the player😎
frankly Dany's soulful vocal concentrates me,,the guitar didn't even make an impression..this rendition rips me up..EVERY time
My least favorite of all
Why are you doing only stuff they did ss children. Please try something current! There is s ton to choose from
If you're talking, you're not listening. Just sayin'. Ugh!
