Thank you for your content. This really helps me with my depression and keeps my mind off of the daily things. Love watching and learning new things. This channels means a lot to me as stupid as it sounds. So thanks!
As an Indian, I just cannot stop chuckling at the bad luck and curse that the Hope diamond's previous owners have been through! I hope, one day it will be returned to where it originally belonged to!
It doesn't sound stupid at all, best of luck with your depression, because I also suffer from depression like you, it's horrible what war can do, & Suffering from depression is one of them, take care, & be strong, it's not over yet.
The woman at 16:41 is Princess Marie Louise of Schleswig-Holstein. She never wore or owned the Hope diamond. She also died at home at the age of 84. You might be referring to Marie-Louise, Princess de Lamballe, who was Marie Antoinette’s closest friend and member of her court. Marie-Louise was sometimes allowed to wear the diamond. She was murdered shortly after Marie Antoinette was arrested.
@@sarah_zen Thanks for replying, I like The Simpson's too, and I think I do remember that character she was the country singer I believe. Can you tell me all about your hair and how long and thick it is as well as how you wear it and if you like it brushed and played with? Also, can you tell me about yourself and your interests if possible?

Harry Winston, who made his fortune in high end estate jewelry, was the last owner and it was he who donated it to the Smithsonian. He lived a long uneventful life. Sorry.
bit of a loose use of the word 'antique' there...a car from 1963 is hardly old. Yes, I know 'antique' is a loose term but it's generally accepted that an item has to be over 100 years old to be considered 'antique'
One old man once gave me an old damaged watch before he left the town and I kept it until one day I decided to see if it worth something so I took it to a watchmaker and I saw a sign that said that he was interested in buying watches so I told him to make me an offer and after he inspected it and made it work by doing some wristwatch black magic he offered me 50 bucks which I accepted since I was not particularly interested on fixing it and for the teenager me 50 bucks was top coin, then the time passed and I was thinking about the watch after watching one very similar in a much higher price but in good shape so I made a quick Google search and resulted that my watch was a Tissot (I don´t remember the exact model) and it was worth 750 bucks, as I said mine was damaged since it didn't ¨move¨ but it was complete and the watchmaker fixed it in minutes in front of me so it was maybe just lack of lubrication or something quick to fix, you can imagine how pissed off I was when I discovered I was ripped off by that bastard, remember kids if you have something that looks worth to investigate it's origins and price then DO IT otherwise you will be ripped off by an opportunist that knows it's value better than you, thankfully it was just several hundreds but some people got f*cked way worse for being ignorant or too lazy to research first like me.

It's ok to forge a sword but not a painting.
@12:01 - I hope those collectors who jumped at the opportunity of buying that ceramic bowl didn't end up breaking it :(
Actually for a stamp it's pretty cool I really like it's color too
Some people have more dollars than sense.
Wow, I have had bad luck as well. Maybe I owned the Hope diamond at one point in my life 🙄
Good evening everyone
When something ( plate's/ dish wear ) reads "made in occupied (Japan or occupied China), " what would be the value of that"?

Wait, you're the guy from Simple History!
A Mickey Mantle baseball card is NOT an antique! An antique is anything MORE than 100 years old!

I wonder what my penny black stamp is worth these days
Has anyone considered returning the Hope Diamond to its original place? I hate thieves.
never
Tbh I would not want it back after the curse
I know of a cheap alternative to that pearl necklace 😈😈😈
Honestly, 30 million for the codex was a bargain.
Instead of selling the stolen loot for obscene amounts - perhaps it should be returned to its rightful owners in China.
It always amuses me how Americans pronounce jaguar.. Like jagwar instead of the correct way like jag you are
Whatever
Sounds cooler
a bloody jagya
If "Spear of Destiny" goes for auction it might reach around $700 million

I'd have thought the thousand year old chinese bowl would have been worth much more. Oh well.
Naw - they have been counterfeiting other people's stuff and trades for thousands of years.
