I was considering ordering the ax33, but I think I will spend the extra and get the ax53. I have enough overtime cash coming to get the camera, a couple of memory cards and an extra battery along with a rode micro mic for it. awsome video!
I've just been reviewing some video I took on my Sony TRV2OE in 2000. It still plays and records. The Zeis lens is awe inspiring and it was better than broadcast TV in its day. That's a 21 year old video camera that still works perfectly. The AX53 will outlive me. The TRV20E cost $3000 in 2000.The AX53 is a paltry $1150 in 2021.
Really nice footage when you consider the size of the sensor! Like that the colours are not over saturated either - quite flat looking.Thank you for posting this footage.
Great footage, another amazing camera from Sony. I just ordered one to film news events. I also want to know, if you have noticed any shaking when using a tripod.
I haven't noticed any shaking when using a tripod. But most of the time I'm doing stationary shots because I find it difficult to achieve good results with pans/tilts.
This camera has one of the best image stabilization systems. Shots made handheld with vehicle in motion are impresive, now imagine with a tripod, no shakes at all!
good, and I fully believe that the stabilization system is great on this camera. What @BCNewsVideo meant though was if there are any vibration differences building or oscillating when mounted on a tripod with OIS set to 'on' (similar as with use of OIS on an electronic stabilizer), which often do not go nicely together... interested in that myself -- so, any observations as to that one, anyone? Thanks in advance.
Great footage! Just bought this camera today.. It's an amazing recorder.. But I was wondering if you could make a video about your settings, cause you've more experience with this camera...
thank god i am not the only one schocked about it :D cant believe I am considering buying such an old camera just to have everything in a small piece of equipment. (zoom, stabilization, image quality) >_> my main camera is the sony a7c, but forget about easy peasy walking around shots or just daily live shooting. it is too s haky. I want something easy, no fuzz, which I can always carry with me. But I have such a hard time convincing me to purchase a second hand ax53, because I loose so much image quality :(
Hello, 1) is it true that this camera supports SD memory cards in NTFS format? 2) is it true that when we shoot with this camera a long 4K video in XAVC S on an SD memory card in NTFS format, the camera does not divide files every 4 GB, only one large file is created, which size is over 4 GB? Please help :)
Hi! I know this is kind of an old video, but I was planning on creating a few short films and was really looking into cameras. I came across the camera you were using and was wondering if this camera would be suitable for short films? or film in general? I would appreciate any feedback as this is the first time I've ever had to look into cameras. Thanks for your time and effort though. your video really helped me out a lot regardless
Hi! I was just wondering, with this camera, is it easy to get the bokeh effect and also, can you easily control the manual settings? Thanks so much, i loved this footage by the way, it was beautiful!
Yeah, I've found it easy to get decent bokeh when zooming in on things. Manual controls are very straightforward. I like to set custom icons on the screen to have quick access to white balance, shutter speed, and aperture. One thing to be aware of is that the camera usually only lets you set one thing manually. So if I set the aperture, the shutter speed switches back to auto but white balance stays manual for some reason. Not a deal breaker for me, but it's good to know before purchasing. Thanks for watching :)
What if you are zoomed out, is this camera still able to get that nice blurry depth for let's say a close up of my own face with background blurr with 0 zoom going on?
Do you know if the footage keeps so good after editing process ( like Sony Vegas, etc... )? Do you have some video ( that you have used Sony Vegas or other editing software ) to show?
I used Final Cut Pro X to edit this video. Sony has a free program on their website called PlayMemories Home. I haven't tried it out but the description says that it can be used to edit photos and videos. Here's a link if you are interested: esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=FDRAX53&LOC=3#/downloadTab
hello SilverSilverTv, nice videos! just got the ax53... and I don't really understand the importing system and the mts. and mp4 formats... what do you use? do you only use the mp4 format when importing the videos to your computer? Apparently mts is the better quality one right? but I don't really understand the system... hope you can clarify a little this for me, thanks a lot!
Hey Josh, thanks for watching. Autofocus does a good job most of the time, as long as the setting is not too dark. I mainly shoot outdoors in daylight and it focuses quickly for me. Also, a firmware update was released a while back which improves the focusing a bit. There is a place to plug in an external mic and a cold shoe on top. I use a Rode Videomic Go and it works perfectly fine with the camcorder.
a6400 would likely be a better choice - great quality photos + video. the ax53 shoots excellent video but does not offer much in the way of photography.
This is so clear! I have this cam & I'm currently using it for my podcast but once I upload onto youtube the quality is cut almost in half. Any suggestions on how to avoid that?
Hey, sure thing! Check out this link for some helpful tips on maximizing quality: www.videomaker.com/article/c05/17034-encoding-youtube-videos-at-the-highest-quality
Generally, I export a ProRes 422 quicktime file from Final Cut Pro X after editing. It tends to be a very large file and takes a while to upload. However, this ensures that the quality is not crushed as much during RUclips's conversion process. If you want to use MP4 (smaller files), I would recommend using the highest bitrate possible (35-45+ Mbps)
hi dear great your video thanks but i have qustion I have sony FDR-AX53 but for recorder 4k is not best quality like your video please help me for set up and which sd memory card better for 4k? thanks
I actually bought this camera about 5 months ago....to make RUclips videos....Never used it...Anybody wanna buy this for a cheaper price then $900 retail...let me know👍
I would like to nominate the Squirrel actor for the people’s choice award.
Looks pretty good to me. Love the fact there is no post processing so we can really see the quality of the actual camera. Thanks.
Video quality is really fantastic, the colors are natural and satisfying. I wish I could see the night video test
Great shots, love the squirrel and the definition on the tail and hair thank you.
Nice video- 4K and song was very enlightening and relaxing to watch- thanks!!

This is very good quality for a consumer camcorder. Thanks for the footage!
Based on your excellent footage, I just ordered this camera. Thank you for the imagery.
How is your camera ? Is it still functioning well ? I am thinking of buying one, do you recommend it ? thanks :)
My god that color and sharpness!
seeing those little fellas eating and breathing is so wonderful ... seem to be a good camcorder ;)

Thank you soo much for this vido! Footage and calming music is simply amazing!
Hi. Thanks for the footage. Its great. I want to buy this camera for wedding videos, any advice?
Very Lovely and the music as well knowing what this camera can do thank you .
Lovely camera and images, did you do any post processing on this one?
Nope, didn't make any adjustments to the footage besides cutting the clips together in Final Cut Pro. Thanks for watching :)

Quite sharp and beautiful color.
love the footage!
Really enjoyed the video be blessed and keep up the hard work
Sony AX53 is a beast of a camera. I have a bit of content on my channel spliced together in Davinci Resolve and exported 45000Kbps 4k.
Image quality is insanely good. I really wanted to see this video on a native 4k screen (i`m watching this on an 21:9 1080p monitor).
I might just be sold on getting the AX53!
OMG still 2021 5 years later there's no videocamera close in quality like this under 1000$ dollars.

Great footage!
Sony should pay you for this commercial lol
Lovely 👍🏾
Cute squirrel =)
Great camera

Great video and color.
Great footage! Why have all the squirrels got wet paws, I wonder..?
Thanks for watching! I believe the squirrels were drinking water from the bird bath
You have a good eye for details :-)

I've watched video after video of the Sony AX53. How come some of them are freaking amazing quality at 4k like this and others look very blurry
Do you know if the footage keeps so good after editing process ( like Sony Vegas, etc... )? Do you have some video ( that you have used Sony Vegas or other editing software ) to show?
Hey, which video editing software do you use that can do 4K?
Did the camera come with free software?

SilverSliverTV Ohhhhh I might try that :D Can it do 4K?

Hey, two questions.
1. How is it's autofocus? Does it hunt? Or does it lock on pretty quickly?
2. Does it have an external mic option?
Hey Josh, thanks for watching.

nice music
What is the background music you use
Can you find the material straight from the camera somewhere without compression in the network?
gostei do video, voce mostrou que da pra filmar sem espantar os bichinhos e que a camera ajuda
Can you plug a wireless mic into this camera
Not sure about wireless mics, but the camera does have a standard microphone jack as well as a shoe mount on top.
hi should i buy this one or sony a6400 ? in photography and videography
a6400 would likely be a better choice - great quality photos + video. the ax53 shoots excellent video but does not offer much in the way of photography.
I have a question... can you record in standby mode with the lcd screen closed??
Don't know what you mean by standby mode but you can record with the lcd screen closed by pulling out the viewfinder.
Can you show me what it looks like when shooting inside?
Your footage isn't 4K UHD when you render it as 1080p. Just a heads up.
Ryan B also the AX53 can’t do 4K at 60fps only 25 pal and ntsc 30 if you want 4K at 60 FPS you need to but an iPhone 8
@@lasarith2 iphone 8 doesn't compare in lower light situations
AG Creations true, but that’s not the point it’s him saying this is Ultra HD when it’s not.
me encantó!

hows the battery life in this thing?
When shooting 4K, I get about 2 hours 25 min on the included FV70 battery. 3 hours 15 min for XAVC S 1080p 60p.
woow
What’s it like in low light
I actually bought this camera about 5 months ago....to make RUclips videos....Never used it...Anybody wanna buy this for a cheaper price then $900 retail...let me know👍
