    Excellent compilation of 4K videos. Watching on 4K monitor I can appreciate the excellent quality and ability of the new Sony sensor installed in the AX53 to capture all fine detailes in low light.

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  8 лет назад

      Thank You it is really amazing, that 16:9 form factor really makes the pixels in the sensor bigger with better light response and better resolution by being 60% bigger
      I never had to push the 24 gain at all
      Thanks

      Because the lousy stabilization of my AX100, I've decided to replace it with AX53. I prefere the smaller size and mainly the better stabilization. Your video giving me the final push to exchange my camcordrs. Thanks again.

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  8 лет назад

      You are right I was thinking Sony was going to come up with an update on the AX-100 but they had to update everything including the awesome BOSS SYSTEM THAT IS THE BEST OF ANY CAMCORDER in addition to the fact that the AX-100 sensor is old technology by today's standards.
      Maybe if they ever come up with a 60p 4K.... will see, I THINK THE boss SYSTEM IS A MUST FOR GOOD QUALITY 4K SHOOTING.
      THANKS

      Only BOSS doesn't work in 4k.

    • @adamw1944
      @adamw1944 8 лет назад +1

      Not exactly, BOSS works but in some limitation, which means that the Intelligent Stabilization doesn't work at 4k, but the Active Steady Shot does work.

    I've done a lot of testing with my AX53 and in 1080P it does a lot better in the low light. I'm not exactly sure why that is.

  • @MyVantasticLifeVoyage

    Images are beautiful. I did notice some vignetting on the wide shots especially with a lot of hand movement and the way the lens floats inside the camera body. I wonder if you had a filter attached to the front of lens. I ask because my ax53 doesn’t do that.

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  5 лет назад

      I always protect lenses with a UV filter, that may be it, but I still don't noticed it.
      Thanks

    What function do you assign the manual ring? I know you don't record in auto mode. When you say you mostly adjust exposure. Is it the exposure or AE Shift that you adjust? I am trying to follow your settings. For the My Button setting you use AE Shift, Shutter Speed and AGC limit, right. Sorry have too many questions.tks.

    Hi Luidoly. It's a very useful video, as you said: a real world low light video. Where does the sudden vignetting at 6:37 come from? Did you use a filter maybe? Or is it just the camcorder fully zoomed out? Thanks in advance!

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  7 лет назад

      I have not really noticed it at all, but no,.... no filters, the only thing that I might be is the corner of the rectangular lens hood Mennon 16.9 I have seen that in other clips
      Thanks,
      Luidoly

    Congratulations , very nice and interesting movie. What software did you use to correct wide angle distorsions ?

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  8 лет назад

      Thank You, I used FCP-10 FOR EDITING AND PUTTING THE MOVIE TOGETHER, However I am not aware that I did any correction to wide angle distortion, these are the actual clips uploaded to RUclips when the timeline was published, no correction for wide angle distortion, I fail to see what you are referring to.
      Thanks,
      Luidoly

      Hello, thank yoy for your reply. At 7:36 there is subtitle: Sony 4K Action Cam corrected for angle distorsion, then at 7:52 there is subtitle: 4K Action Cam no correction for angle distorsion and so on. So, I was wondering what software or device is doing good job and corrects so well these angle distorsions. :-)

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  8 лет назад

      Yes you are right, when you said software I was confused with the main editing software but actually it is a plugin that you can buy from Coremelt and others and use it as a special fx on FCP10, There are other special effects Co that also have angle distortion correction pluggings, I just find that the one provided by Coremelt works very well.
      Thanks,
      Luis

    Whow! All 30fps videos that I saw yank a bit, so it is easy to say whether it is 30p or 60p. But it looks like you have managed to overcome this problem. How did you get that smooth picture? Thanks!

    Awesome video... Not sure if you have had any experience with the Canon Vixia G40, but if so I was wondering which you would prefer? I'm trying to decide between that camera and the AX-53... Thanks

    • @The_Darrell
      @The_Darrell 7 лет назад

      Also... I was wondering if this was shot with any extra lenses or not? Thanks :)

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  7 лет назад +1

      I DID NOT HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE G40 BUT STILL HAVE THE AX-20 WHICH THE SEMIPROFESSIONAL COUNTER PART OF THE G30 AND G40, even at that I prefer the AX-53 BECAUSETHE SONY COLORS ARE BETTER, IT IS 4K,BIGGER SENSOR BETTER LIGHT ADQUISITION AND MOST OF ALL THE OPTICAL STABILIZATION WHICH IS UNSURPASSED BY ANY OTHER CAMERA IN PRODUCTION TODAY EVEN THE SMALL ACTION CAM SONY FDR-X3000 HAS OPTICAL STABILIZATION AND THERE IS NOTHING BETTER AT THIS TIME, SO GO FOR THE AX-53 YOU WILL BE PLEASE, REMEMBER THAT ALSO SHOOTS 1080P IF YOU REALLY DON'T CARE FOR THE 4K.
      NO THERE WERE NO EXTRA LENSES OR ADPTER LENSES USED, THAT IS THE ORIGINAL LENS IT GOES TO 20 X OPTICAL.
      THANKS
      LUIDOLY

    • @The_Darrell
      @The_Darrell 7 лет назад

      Awesome... Thanks for the reply. From studying test footage that I've seen on RUclips, I'd definitely agree. The AX53 just looks a lot better... I've seen a lot of clips uploaded with the G40, and they seem disappointing to me. Cheers.

    You say you didn't have a lens on, did you have a lens hood? I saw something at slightly after 1:30 on the edges that I saw on my own footage when I used a lens hood..

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  6 лет назад

      A lenshood was used and at times especially on extrema wide of the zoom may show some vignetting in the corners depending on how much
      side ways you are holding the camera, i did not particularly saw it in your reference at 1:30 but I know it happens. easily corrected
      zooming in just a little and it will disappear. the lens hood is a Mennon square lens hood.
      Thanks,
      Luidoly

    which wide angle lens adapter did u use? (.45x or .70x) BTW very nice video...

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  6 лет назад

      No wide angle adapter was used, only the camera zoom lens, which has an impressive 20x optical zoom but I cannot remember what it is at the wide side of the zoom, but definitely no adapter.
      Thanks,
      Luidoly

    how does the ax53 fair in an indoor concert setting? most concerts have dark surroundings with really intense flood lights, and that together with the zoom, im really not sure how the video will turn out. it's definitely a consideration though!

    • @Luidoly
      @Luidoly  5 лет назад

      The AX-53 does very well indoors, the concert lighting is no problem and you can always change the gain to a minimum
      to avoid any noise artifact in the dark areas
      thanks

    Just curious about the strobing/flickering at about 5:05 with the yellow lighting. Is it in the original file or just RUclips? Any idea what causes it?

    • @DerJoshbert
      @DerJoshbert 6 лет назад +1

      I'm not a professional, but I might be correct with this one.
      The light has a certain frequency so called Hertz. This is caused by the power specification in the countrys. Light starts to flicker, when the FPS do not match the frequency of the light. In Japan and Europe there is 50 Hertz on electricity. In America there is 60 Hertz. PAL vs NTSC.
      If your video camera is not filming at the same wave length as the frequency of the light, it begins to flicker. You need to either fall back to 25 FPS or 50 FPS for perfect coverage in Japan and Europe and 30 and 60 FPS for America or otherwise you get this flicker.

    • @MarksTech
      @MarksTech 6 лет назад +1

      Joshbert & Friends 100% correct Josh! Same reason as to why most car LED headlights/taillights on modern cars “wave” or flicker when recorded!

    I don't know, but I just purchased the AX53 and while it does a FANTASTIC job with daylight footage, I am getting way too much noise/grain in similar low-light situations at a gain of 18 or 21, everything else in AUTO. Are you doing anything differently in the manual settings (very limited options) available with this camcorder to avoid getting noise in your image?

    • @seanmcc09
      @seanmcc09 5 лет назад +1

      Make sure you are using a fast SD card and shooting at the highest bitrate. Also, lower the gain and correct it in post-production
