Thank you for making this. I knew there had to be a way to do this, but I looked up a tutorial and it offered a way harder way to do it, over multiple videos. This makes way more sense and is exactly what I wanted to do. I just wouldn't have thought to look for the pick whip under expressions 'cause I haven't tried expressions yet. Awesome.
OH DUDE YOU LIKE HELPED ME A LOT WITH THIS OLD TUTORIAL! I was struggling to find the answear also trying my best with plugin Duik but didnt work and i was giving up because my deadline is tomorrow but NOW HELL YEAHH Thank you so much!
I do it, tried different layers to do so, and when I started to animate (RENDER to check) the layer that I chose, pickwhipped - as in arm to body - the arm disappears. What to do?
terimakasih banyak tutorial ini sangat membantu. saya benar benar pemula hingga tidak tahu harus mecari dengan kata kunci apa, untungnya saya menemukan tutorial ini. 😊
I know this is rather late but if you first partner your object to the main one then partner the expression to the puppet that should work. I had the same problem and fixed it this way.
U saved my life thanks! A question tough, when I move for example the head pin, the arm pin doesn't move with the body, why's that? I have animate them separately I guess?
Are you sure you have your head layer and arm layer both parented to the body layer to begin with? Before parenting puppet pins? Or it sounds like you did not alt-click and pick-whip the position of your arm layer to the POSITION of the puppet pin on the body?
@@Annokan6 you probably figured it out by now, or maybe you don't need it anymore, but I had the same problem and the solution was very simple: you really need to pick whip the layers themselves to each other before you start pick whipping the puppet pins, that solved it for me.
It should be emphasized that your child(target) layers need to have the parent layer assigned. You can see in the video that everything is parented to the "Body" layer.
even after 10 years this tutorial is helpful damn man
