He chose lightning for reason actual not clear (possibly due to Etros power transferred to her). A balance was needed in his new reign. He took Lightning’s humanity away (emotions) to make her more omnipotent though he did not change her soul since who could see which was his error. As she progressed in her mention she grew father away from her humanity and more into a supreme being beyond the limits of humans. She eventually caught on to the plan through the help of herself. This is from the American version I played
Just one added note; Lumina was Lightning personality before her parents death. She locked those feeling away in order to be strong but made her less human When her emotions was removed from by Bhunivelze ; The chaos gave those discarded feeling it own form with it also housed her sisters soul (Yah my are too long for a summary 😅)
on the Final Fantasy Wiki, if you go to the page of it, it says that the song Almighty Bhunivelze (the second battle track at 17:15 ) incorporates songs from past XIII games. these songs are Ragnarok, Saber's Edge, Nascent Requiem, Fighting Fate, Caius's Theme, and The Ark.
During the fight Bhunivelze says "My Beautiful Goddess" "Offer yourself to me" "Obendiently submit your body to me and become the new goddess!" and "I will bestow upon you a sweet forfeit."
That was a fight that I really was expecting! I don't know much about the story of this game, but I was sure that Lightning would fight Bhunivelze. Can't wait to 14th February!
@@christopherbravo1813 Yes, he is strong enough to destroy her in a single hit, but because he absorbed Hope's soul, he became weaker. You can see that after he escapes the unseen realm in the ending cutscene, without Hope's soul

DAMN this JP voice acting is good! Next time I fight this guy, I oughta switch the voice acting from English to this. BTW I actually beat Ereshkigal on my first playthrough so Bhunivelze was easy. Especially after getting the Ultima Weapon + shield. :)

For example the secret episode part for my Birth by Sleep Final Mix playthrough got claimed AND blocked worldwide. I disputed it under fair use and critique and it's back up now. RUclips's a giant mess and come January it'll be an even bigger one

Ahhhh, I'm SOO happy that I finally beat this boss battle (and on normal mode too. 😁). Still, this boss super hard to beat. I'm can't imagine what it's like on hard mode.
Loved this game and the lore of bhunivelze when i first faced bhunivelze and was hyped i was kinda disappointed cause despite him being the final boss in the game i was able to easily beat him very easily with no continues i had a harder time trying to beat other enemies in the game than bhunivelze like caius i died fightning him took me like 2 days to figure how i could win along with snow as i died to him like 3 times (thought it only took me 1 day to beat snow)
yeah he's pretty straightforward if you understand the combat system. every phase is like a quiz on how well you understand it, which by the time you reach him, you should (Also ultima weapon does insane damage on normal mode)
Stage 4 was quite frustrating, until i realized that stagger slowly builds up. First i always tried to instant stagger him because the quickly disappearing staggline. ... but it does not disappear totally. A small ammount remains, and by constant punching one can stagger him even without EP.
This boss...this boss was HARD. I was out of EP and had no recovery items left on its fourth form, and didn't think my staggering was making any difference. And then, all of a sudden...BOOM...STAGGER and then I just mashed ATTACK on E+ for my life and won. Thank god I didn't game over. Got to see a beautiful ending to my favorite FF game.
my first playthrough fighting Bhunivelze was cake up until i got to his 4th form which i did not know how that would turn out because obviously he was impossible to defeat, but then the light from the guidebook shined on me and told me to find the best way to stagger him, so i did and i didnt use any ep until his 4th form (i had a full 8 by the way) and i used hella magic such as aerora, blizzaga, hell i even used Heavy Slash Lv.3 three times in a row. the moment he was staggered i said "TURN UP GOD! LET'S FINISH THIS!" pretty much once you stagger him. the battle is pretty much done and over with
Really nice fight you pulled there. Man, I'm trying as hard as I can to beat this guy without Ultima weapon and shield, and I always get out of health in the fourth part of the combat (you know, after you've been in it for 35 minutes and your real life stamina if running low)...and since I can't seem to find a way to beat the two arcangelis that block my way in the second dojon toward the Ultima gear, I think I'm shit out of luck é_è

You can survive most of the attacks if you guard at the right time. The only one you can't guard against is hypernova. The only way to heal is through potions, phoenix downs, resting at inns, eating at restaurants and using a regen guard
Can anyone tell me what Lightning is saying during the fight? The only parts I can make out are yameru and omoshiroi. The music or sound effects always drown out half of her sentences.
i thought ff13 lightning returns didnt come out till febuary 14, how are you recording all boss fights? did it release earlier in a different country or something
that sucks ass. i know the Japanese people are the biggest fan base and they deserve the game early but not no damn 3 months, im starting to see all these game play videos all over the internet, im a huge fan and will buy this game first day but i think it being release soooo early is going to be bad for its sales in america in europe, all the people interested in it after watching all this will probably not wanna buy it right away now

Agreed I really liked that bit as well. Yes the game was very good I really enjoyed it and the combat system was a fresh new experience. For those that don't know Last Resort was Hope's final ATB move in XIII and the knife was a birthday present from Serah and Snow to Light then Light gave it to Hope to help him with his personal 'mission' he gives it back to her shortly afterwards as he doesn't go through with it.
Excuse me, but it's not the normal mode or it's not the same version or it's a bug... Me, I have lightning with 2xxxx pdv (three finished parts easy mode and all stuff) and she is killed every 5min in normal mode (where are fulguration/fission/glaciation/tornade/ultima of Bhunivelze???) and bhunivelze in mode normal starts with the second stage and not the first, so it's the easy mode here... :x

Save your overclock for the final form, then spam magic until he breaks. Cast deprotect then use the class you have the ultimate weapon equipped to then just attack. He should go down pretty easy

Gabrielle Ochnik No worries :) I do, however I haven't done it myself. (Currently working through new game+ to get it) From what I've read you have to clear 100 quests in total. I'm not sure if it's just 100 side quests (Including Chocolina's board btw) or 100 quests which include the main quests. Hope this somewhat helps. I've only heard this, haven't tried it out myself. I'll let you know if I'm wrong
Oh yea im defeated this on normal mode haha it was so imposible tht i could never thought i win it i had retry so many times with my own setup. .u can win anything if u keep on trying. .the ending was so nice So keep trying till the end
I'm still trully a big fan of FF games. This FF and the last few didn't really felt as FF games like the old days. Im a little dissapointed that you play this one with only 1 character, but still i would play this game till my balls would fall off :P
You have 3 costumes and they act as paradigms. You customize the paradigms with different coatumes, moves, items, ect. This gives you the freedom to try make a ultimate costume set. Also you can get higher level skills like aero lv3 to improve the overall spell or attack like the staggering, ect. Quite a creative concept. :)
Two questions. On the second form whats the significance in destroying the three orbs? And how do you stagger the third form so quickly? I can beat the third form but if i can stagger it it will be much easier. The fourth form is just ridiculous.
If you don't destroy the orbs they'll blow up and most likely kill you. Killing at least 2 of them is recommended. For the 3rd form, learn his attack pattern, everytime he steps back that means his combo has ended, which means you've got time to attack/build up the stagger wave. You can fit in about one full combo before he starts to attack again, don't get greedy attacking or if you get caught in his attack you'll most likely lose all the stagger wave that was built up. As for the fourth form, use all of your EP to stagger him, he doesn't get up for a long time once he's staggered. So just give him everything you've got. good luck
Thanks a bunch. Ive already started new game plus because it got really annoying but i still have my file and im still trying. Oh and do they blow up on their own or is it when he does the big attack? Cause i havent noticed them explode. But after he does the big move they are gone.
1519aes no worries. Yeah it's a two part attack, he'll do his shockwave attack and then the bombs will gather round you and explode. You also can't guard against the bombs. It's best just to take them out
so is this game worth buying if you did not play the first 2 13,s? I played the first onea little bit , but never beat it . what style would you say this plays like ?
The gameplay is a cross between the first two's ATB system and an Action RPG. It feels very fresh. As far as if you didn't play the first two games I'm unsure. There is bits in the game that cover certain events from the first two games but you'd probably still be out of the loop on a lot of things. The first two games are really cheap to pick up nowadays so give them another try, or I have commentated playthroughs for them. on my channel. Just go to my playlists you'll find them there.
Wait a minute...if Bhunivelze is a formless deity, does this mean the forms you fight aren't his true form? If so, where did it come from? Did he draw it from Hopes memories and imagination?
Bhunivelze's not formless, he starts manipulating Hope (basically using him as a hostage) then he absorbs him. Which is why Light stabs the knife through Bhuni to get it to Hope
You'll get more slots and more GP as you progress through the game (: for the levelling system it's tied to the story. You help out the people of the world (via sidequests and main quests) and you'll collect eradia which will make you stronger. Killing enemies will award GP, accessories, new abilities and sometimes weapons. Hope this helps :)

Yeah there's a new game+ :) It's unlikely you'll get all sidequests done on your first time round but there's definitely enough time on your second or even third playthrough to get them all done
with Hope's help, yes. after the death of his daughter Etro; goddess of death, he appointed Lightning as her stand-in seeing as how she was chosen by Etro herself. notice how he's using Hope's voice to talk even after showing his face and that both have some similarities in appearence?
Lightning's character model is better than 13 and 13-2's other character's models are about the same graphically as their 13-2 ones. The textures aren't brilliant but once you get used to it it's not really that big of a deal. Overall I'd say the graphics are slightly better than 13-2's but still not as good as 13's. Hope that helps
In the end... The knight etro garb are more friendly schemata on every boss fight... No wonder it came as free since day 1... And yes, it's not useful from early game which more prefer other garb... But later game, i'll more prefer this garb since it can be physical attc to magic attc...
Dan Yeah I saw the ultimate spammage of Overclock on Easy Mode -_- ruins any kind of challenge. Agreed, this was with the ultima weapon and shield too. If you don't use them he's horrible to face
garbs are her LR, XIII and XIII-2 costumes. Abilities are: Deprotect, Different elemental 'ra' spells, different elemental 'strikes', Attack and heavy slash. Hope this helps you out. Sorry I can't be more specific :)
He'll do another move shortly after spawning them and they'll explode and break your guard. Not taking them out will most likely end up in you dying instantly

Kefka tried to control terra not ceceil. Cecil is from 4 I think you meant Celes. And after Kefka became a "god" Terra was useless to him.

You don't have cure spells here? Aside from weird instakill stuff there got to be a way to magic your health up..

It's because you're on New game+ ...Overclock in easy mode costs 1EP, here it costs 2. Which proves i'm on normal mode.

Save your overclock for the final form, then spam magic until he breaks. Cast deprotect then use the class you have the ultimate weapon equipped to then just attack. He should go down pretty easy

Gabrielle Ochnik No worries :) I do, however I haven't done it myself. (Currently working through new game+ to get it) From what I've read you have to clear 100 quests in total. I'm not sure if it's just 100 side quests (Including Chocolina's board btw) or 100 quests which include the main quests. Hope this somewhat helps. I've only heard this, haven't tried it out myself. I'll let you know if I'm wrong

I'm still trully a big fan of FF games. This FF and the last few didn't really felt as FF games like the old days. Im a little dissapointed that you play this one with only 1 character, but still i would play this game till my balls would fall off :P
can you please explain how the time mechanic works in this game
You have 3 costumes and they act as paradigms.
You customize the paradigms with different coatumes, moves, items, ect. This gives you the freedom to try make a ultimate costume set.
Also you can get higher level skills like aero lv3 to improve the overall spell or attack like the staggering, ect.
Quite a creative concept. :)

Two questions. On the second form whats the significance in destroying the three orbs? And how do you stagger the third form so quickly? I can beat the third form but if i can stagger it it will be much easier. The fourth form is just ridiculous.
If you don't destroy the orbs they'll blow up and most likely kill you. Killing at least 2 of them is recommended. For the 3rd form, learn his attack pattern, everytime he steps back that means his combo has ended, which means you've got time to attack/build up the stagger wave. You can fit in about one full combo before he starts to attack again, don't get greedy attacking or if you get caught in his attack you'll most likely lose all the stagger wave that was built up. As for the fourth form, use all of your EP to stagger him, he doesn't get up for a long time once he's staggered. So just give him everything you've got. good luck

Oh and do they blow up on their own or is it when he does the big attack? Cause i havent noticed them explode. But after he does the big move they are gone.
1519aes no worries. Yeah it's a two part attack, he'll do his shockwave attack and then the bombs will gather round you and explode. You also can't guard against the bombs. It's best just to take them out
I didnt even know you could to be honest. Didnt really have that much trouble but if I can not die and save a phoenix down for the third form.

The gameplay is a cross between the first two's ATB system and an Action RPG. It feels very fresh. As far as if you didn't play the first two games I'm unsure. There is bits in the game that cover certain events from the first two games but you'd probably still be out of the loop on a lot of things. The first two games are really cheap to pick up nowadays so give them another try, or I have commentated playthroughs for them. on my channel. Just go to my playlists you'll find them there.

Bhunivelze's not formless, he starts manipulating Hope (basically using him as a hostage) then he absorbs him. Which is why Light stabs the knife through Bhuni to get it to Hope
How do you increase the GP-Bar and receive Itemslots? What about the Levelsystem? (Sry for the asks, well, nice play, I want this game... now.. ._.)
You'll get more slots and more GP as you progress through the game (: for the levelling system it's tied to the story. You help out the people of the world (via sidequests and main quests) and you'll collect eradia which will make you stronger. Killing enemies will award GP, accessories, new abilities and sometimes weapons. Hope this helps :)

Yeah there's a new game+ :) It's unlikely you'll get all sidequests done on your first time round but there's definitely enough time on your second or even third playthrough to get them all done

Juet curious, how would u scale this games graphics compared to the last 2 games?
Lightning's character model is better than 13 and 13-2's other character's models are about the same graphically as their 13-2 ones. The textures aren't brilliant but once you get used to it it's not really that big of a deal. Overall I'd say the graphics are slightly better than 13-2's but still not as good as 13's. Hope that helps
In the end... The knight etro garb are more friendly schemata on every boss fight... No wonder it came as free since day 1... And yes, it's not useful from early game which more prefer other garb... But later game, i'll more prefer this garb since it can be physical attc to magic attc...

You spend less GP on easy as far I know. Anyhow, I really like this final boss cos well it feels like an actual final boss..
Dan Yeah I saw the ultimate spammage of Overclock on Easy Mode -_- ruins any kind of challenge. Agreed, this was with the ultima weapon and shield too. If you don't use them he's horrible to face

Whats are the garbs and abilities being used?
garbs are her LR, XIII and XIII-2 costumes.
Abilities are: Deprotect, Different elemental 'ra' spells, different elemental 'strikes', Attack and heavy slash. Hope this helps you out. Sorry I can't be more specific :)

What do those ball things do?
He'll do another move shortly after spawning them and they'll explode and break your guard. Not taking them out will most likely end up in you dying instantly
Oh right. LOL that's why I used up all my phoenix downs by the time I got to Bhunivelzes' 3rd form.
