  • Don't Pass and Don't Come - How to Play Craps Pt. 10
    The Don’t Pass and Don’t come bets. While most players avoid betting “against” the dice, mathematically, it is an ever so slightly better bet than the pass line. Because a player can make money betting either way, I feel like you should be knowledgeable and prepared to bet the “dark side."
    When you bet the don’t pass line, you are considered a “wrong” better or a Dark sider. There is nothing wrong with betting this way, it’s just not common. The casino doesn’t care which you bet, as their house edge is the same either way.
    So the Don’t pass and Don’t come, work just opposite the way the pass and come work. Unlike the pass & come, the Dont’s are not contract bets and can be taken down at any time.
    The Don’t pass bet can only be made before the come out roll when the puck is in the off position. Now the come out roll, 7 or 11 is a loser, 2 or 3 is a win and pays even money.
    There are 8 ways to roll a loser and only 3 ways to roll a winner. This is the big dis-advantage you have on the come out roll. If you can make it past the come out roll and a point is established, the odds of winning are now in YOUR favor as the seven is the number most likely to roll. At this point, No other number rolled effects the game. You simply wait for the seven to roll before the point number.
    The Don’t Come bet works exactly like the Don’t pass bet, the only difference is you make this bet in the middle of the game, when a point number is already established and the puck is in the ON position. With the don’t come bet, you place the bet in the don’t come area, and if a point number is rolled, the Dealer will move your bet up to a number to mark it. If a seven rolls first and you win, he will pay it off in the don’t come area, and you will be responsible for collecting it. If you plan on making Don’t come bets, you probably want to position yourself around the table, so you can reach the don’t come area. Want to add odds? after the dealer moves your don’t come bet up, simply put your chips down on the layout and ask the dealer to “lay odds” on your don’t come.

    Don't Pass/Don't Come is to Craps to what the Banker is to Baccarat; the push rule for a boxcar (12) may throw off some betters just like the 5% commission for the Banker bet in Baccarat, but its still the smarter play, and sort of becomes the insurance for sevening out in the point rolls.

  • @RC6790
    @RC6790 6 лет назад +1

    I like playing the Don't Pass with one Don't Come. I like to hedge my Don't Come bet by adding odds to my DP and then taking it down after the DC is set. I can't tell you the number of times a seven hits while I am trying to establish the DC but let me tell you it happens rather frequently. The Martingale is a loser but I have good success with a mini bet up after each loss and a down bet after each win. On a 5 dollar table after each loss I add $2 to my next bet which is really good on a choppy table (lose one, then win one and I am ahead). I can lose usually up to 5 or 6 in a row and then with a couple of wins be pretty much back in the game whereas if was doing a straight Martingale I would be busting out or risking a bundle. On a 5 dollar table I buy in for $100 and if I am unlucky to lose it I do not continue the adding to the buy-in, I walk away. I would like to see you try this method on one of your videos - it's a grind but I have been winning quite often with it. I do play around with addition hedge bets when my bet rises after a couple of losses. A hedge such as a dollar on a hardway to increase my chances when the number is a 4,6,8,10 and when I am betting even higher amounts due to losses even a yo hedge on the establishing point for the DP or DC. I don't know if the Hardways and the yo are sound bets in those cases but they sure feel good when they hit. I treat the DP and DC winning and losing streaks as independent of one another - I may be back to the minimum bet on one and 3 or 4 losses in a row on the other. The beauty of this is two fold, first, I never lose more than my buy-in in any one session but I can and have won more than the buy-in on many occasions (my highest winning session at a 5 dollar table is $165 ahead), my second advantage is that often this is an up and down system I might be down by $40 and then go up which leaves me the option of when to leave the table - so if I am playing up and down for a while I can simply decide to color up when I am ahead, yes, I might only win $20 to $30 but if I am starting to feel a little tired, then take the money and run - rest and return later on.

      @RC6790 3 года назад

      @@andrewjones6157 I played this for 40 sessions at live casino play and was up over $400 for one year with six losing sessions and 34 winning sessions. A number of winning sessions were smaller amounts where I chose to quit after playing for a while (try to quit ahead and when you get tired of the grind). One thing I failed to mention is moving up $2 each after several losses but after the next win the bet is adjusted down by $3. Betting $2 up after a loss and $3 down after a win is the ratio that creates a down draft which gets you back to the starting level. The amount you start your bet, of course, can be scaled to your bankroll, $5 table is merely an example.

      The point or puck can be ignored for a dont come bet. The first roll it loses to any 7 or 11 while in dont come box. It would move to the old “point” if that’s what is rolled. Then wins with any 7, or loses if the number it’s on is rolled. The puck or main “point” doesn’t effect a dont come. Think of it as a game within a game. You can remove dont bets at anytime and casinos happily allow, because player takes risk on first roll, after that the player is more likely to win.

    I don't care to play with don't betters. It's just that most players are pass line and come betters. I don't think there's any real advantage to being a don't better. And yes I've heard all the arguments! The problem with pass line betters is they tend to play all the sucker bets. Everything from the CE, hard ways, hops & fire bets! Where as don't betters usually have to have a large bank roll because they get paid less and only play don't pass and don't come with odds. And whether you are on the right or wrong side that's the way to bet. Everything else is just a sucker bet and drains your bankroll.
    Although I only play pass line and come bets with odds, I do enjoy watching all the pass line betters making crazy sucker bets! And its fun watching them win. But most end up losing because they're sucker bets.

      5% of your expected win. Lay bet pays 5:6 on the 6 or 8, so if you bet $30 you win $25 minus $1.25 vig. (5%) depending on your casino they will round down to $1 or up to $2

    What is the max amount of odds you can put behind a don’t pass? Does it follow a similar structure as pass for the usual 3-4-5 odds tables? I’ve heard it’s always up to six times but I can’t seem to clarify that anywhere...

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 лет назад

      It is always 6x on a 3,4,5x odds table only. With the don't, max odds is based on the payout, not the amount bet. For example, on a 10x odd table, if your don't bet is $5 you could win $50 by betting $100 on the numbers 4 or 10 (payoff is 1:2) In this example you bet 20x to win back the table max of 10x because the odds pay 1:2. Hope this helps you some.

    Color up, I am in Colorado and here we have a $100 max bet limit. How would you play max odds on the Don't pass? Knowing that I need to lay more odds to make the bet, I'm a little confused what the flat bet should be to be able to make the most out of this?

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  6 лет назад +1

      I have just recently moved to CO! I never make a $100 so I'm not positive. But I have read it is a hard $100 limit, so with the Don't, on a $5 table with 10x odds allowed you could bet $100 on the 4 or 10 to win back $50 for example. Odds of $75 would win back $50 on the 5 and 9, and $60 would win $50 on the 6 and 8. Obviously this is effected by your base bet and the odds allowed. So if you raised base bet up to $10 on a 10x table you could lay $90 on the 6/8 to win back $75

      If you raise your flat bet up, you are risking more against the most probable number for the come out, but after point is established you are for sure in great position. As far as taking odds, its a completely fair bet, and really doesn't effect the initial bet one way or another. If you want to get more action on the number, then take odds, it increases the volatility of your bankroll, it does not increase your chances of winning.

    Hold em guy here. I'm in the casino, I hear lots of cheering in the background. Yet at my table it is just chip clanking, the occasional snarky comment about chasing the flush or bad beats. Perhaps a "just this one time" plea before the river. I listen to this video and it sounds like another language. But the ever present social interactions are muted playing no limit tx hold'em, particularly compared to a game like craps. I cant help but want to join in on the banter over there where people are crowded together, drinks in hand laughing with neighbors. Certainly there are the sighs and shaking heads after a loss, as well, but it's like a whole other universe by comparison.
    How many hours have I spent playing cards and doing fairly well. Yet the grinding boredom after 4 or 5 hrs gets to me. 18 years into the art of the wager and I want some fresh concepts. That said, dice and craps scare the hell out of me. Yet I imagine if I watch these videos enough and perhaps download an app to try some of these things out, I may actually start to understand wtf is going on. Cheers and thanks for putting out these videos

      Get thru the Beginner series and you will be well on your way. Its a fun game and why I love it so much. Of course its a negative EV game, so you won't get the same results you do at poker. But might be a nice break from time to time for ya.

    old video and the maths right but technicality, their superstition means it does or could effect THE outcome just not the odds at infinitum because of the effect. Like if their getting slightly irritated and throw the dice harder or quiver. Even very minutely butterfly effect style, the combination of the extra smooth surface in a specific location followed by an exhaled sigh altering the airflow in response altering the dust and lay of the felt making the die spin a little bit less before hitting the wall causing it to bounce instead of rotate.. Yes these are insanely out of our perception and reach in real time especially but it is also reality and the physical truth of the shorter term that is a single roll.

    It’s all about probability. Wager more if you understand the probability is in your favor pull back if it’s not. The probability of a 7 increases everytime it doesn’t hit. Same for all other numbers.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  2 года назад

      Nope, probabilities reset after every roll. Each roll is independent. Every roll there is a 1 in 6 chance of 7 rolling. Whether it’s been one roll or 100, the next roll has same probability

    • @GardensoftheAncientsHerbal

      @@ColorUp it’s technically 6 out of 36 and to be more exact for the non lamens, volatility and odds has more to do with reality than the strict definition of probability. If a seven hits over and over the volatility increases and odds of hitting seven decreases. My dads friend worked in the gambling division of Konami, as a child they challenged me to test their games. I learned that when and how much you bet has more to do with winning than the actual odds on paper. The way I beat the games almost in a determined way by was wagering below 1 percent of your bag and doubling down and pulling in a patterns then walking when up. In fact the that’s why they force black jack players who count cards to to flat bet because they can’t bet down against the odds. Casinos know this and Is the main reason they kick out gamblers. I figure if they kick you out over it it must work. And I have been banned for playing craps and black jack at all MGM resorts unless I flat bet playing black jack at the higher end establishments that require over $100 bets, Or craps that requires a minimum $25 bet. Yes 6 out of 36 in real life does equate the same as 1 out 6 but on paper but in practice it’s 6 out of 36 otherwise the mathematicians wouldn’t say 6 out of 36 and then in annotate 1 of 6. Technically the same on paper but in a real world scenario it’s not the same unless you are in the thousands of rolls….. one out 6 can be determined in hundreds of rolls 6 out 36 is only proven to be determined by thousands of rolls.

    • @ColorUp
      @ColorUp  2 года назад +1

      Technically 6 out of 36 is the exact probability as 1 out of 6. And no if a 7 hits multiple times, the odds of 7 does not decrease. It remains the same. You can look back at past results and see and define the volatility, but the next roll is same odds as last roll, and every roll after that.
